I like the dragon, though its a shame they are stormcast exclusive.

GW are nothing more than plagiarists who get mad about plagiarism.
I. for one, 100% stand by the rights of GW to DMCA stuff that infringes things they stole from others and copyrighted themselves.
Orcs, goblins, genestealers, Titans, space marines, Necrons, the Inquisition, chaos, elves, eldar, dwarves, dark elves, ogres, trolls, giants, many AoS/fantasy warmachines… really, the only truly original race they’ve developed that I can recall off the top of my head is the Tau. Even the mechanicus riff on Talsorian-esque themes of declining humanity as cybernetics take over. The original Land Raider was ‘inspired by’ a joint project between Matchbox and the 2000AD comic.

Didn't GW literally steal a Chaos God or something?
Nergal, Mesopotamian god of war, death and disease

It still really bothers me how sigmar Orks get all these cool mounts and the new 40k Orks just get a bunch of squigs that are all samey and boring.

Although I play Bonesplitterz, my favorite is still the Ironjawz death cabbage because it's cute and can yell so loud it makes your intestines explode.

There's a fine line between "inspired by" (Mesopotamia can't sue you lmao) and "rip off, here's our replacement of somebody else's IP, and please carry our product in your hobby shop right next to the real thing. Our Kickstarter is making so much money!"

Every other model in the Dark Gods line makes itself legally distinct. The rest of their line was successfully funded via a kickstarter. This isnt their first rodeo.
Spikeybits has for sale "Angel Tears" pieces and units which is, as you may imagine, is just the Blood Angels insignia with a trademark distinct blue. They obviously know how to get around GW.
This taken down kickstarter is so on the nose I'd suspect Spikeybits did this on purpose to ride the whole "GW is harassing creators!" wave. Presumably they'll still make the models for their line, kickstarter or not. But now people are linking their site for free advertising.

I think this was sent to kickstarter supporters, its a super cringy "I never meant to hurt anybody" apology/self shill

Hi everyone, what a sad day.
I am truly sorry your backing has been put on hold, and that this complaint was filed post-success on the kickstarter which in a way punishes not only me, but everyone else for backing.
It was never my intention to hurt anyone, and i was truly trying to bring something new to the table, created from scratch. Unfortunately some of the sculpts seem to have not done enough. I am working hard to find out exactly what this means, and whether the majority of the sculpts are still fine for release, and If so I will get these to you as soon as possible.
I have opened communication with all parties, but now unfortunately it is a waiting game. I do not wish to battle anyone, and will do whatever I can to appease everyone involved but it looks like the more standard fantasy tropes are much safer and I may have to return to these style of sculpts.
This has been a heavy blow, and I am unable to post updates, so I hope this email suffices for now. Dark Gods needs your support more than ever right now, and I just hope you will all weather the storm with me so I can continue to bring you amazing models in the future.
If anyone is looking for a way to help me, all messages of thanks are appreciated, or pick up some files on my Myminifactory to print at home now. I am sorry I can offer nothing better at the moment but I will work on doing whatever I can to help you, thank you for believing in me.
Stay safe and hopefully this will all be resolved soon
I'm not shilling for GW, I just think these guys are retards. I don't think somebody is compromising on their ideals by calling their "Ork" replacements "Orcs" to avoid a slap suit.

since GW is wielding the ban hammer once more does that mean bitz sites like spell crow and mad robot are gonna get fucked?

I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson with Chapterhouse. As long as the "proxy" and "alternative" bitz companies go through the kabuki theater, they'll probably be left alone.

I’ve never actually played a game against custodes but every army I’ve seen has the forge world units. Is that the only way to make them playable?
They don't seem to have too much variety in their Citadel range. Well definitely a lot of their variety comes from loadout swaps. They have the basic troops that comes with 3 loadouts, the terminator with 3 loadouts, jetbikes with 2 loadouts, 1 Dreadnaught and 1 Landraider.

If we look at forgeworld... we see a lot of their stuff is sold out...

But what it did offer was another troop loadout (bet those bolters are pretty nice), another terminator loadout, jump pack troops, 2 additional dreadnaughts, 5 different vehicle loadouts (but I'm guess it's comes in 2 or 3 kits).
So the forgeworld stuff certainly gives you more tools to play with.

I no longer trust FW when it says something is sold out. The Deimos Rhino was "sold out" for quite a while, and now it's back, no explanation. Same goes for the Contekar Terminators and the Cataphractii storm shields for Imperial Fists (which were available two days ago, but I've just noticed are "sold out" again). If you go look at the Sabre strike tank, they have the tank and all its weapon options available, no trouble, but the bundle option for the tank and all three weapons is "sold out". They're also currently sold out of newer models Saul Tarvitz, plus like half the primarchs and most of the Contemptors and just . . . really random stuff like upgrade sets and certain characters. My current theory is that whoever they've got in charge of FW's site is incapable of finding their ass with both hands and a map, especially in light of the Sons of Horus praetor leak that just occurred.

Forgeworld has retards running their website. It's a total 180 from the old forgeworld days.
