Weird Dreams Thread

Not really weird, just other than being remembered, but just because of my grandfather being in it (who has been dead well over 20 years). We were driving a car to sell it, down a dirt road, and complaining about its lack of a windshield, because we had for some reason sold that.

Also it reminded me of how much I missed him.
This sounds similar to a dream I had years ago where I was driving my long-departed grandmother to the grocery store only to have the road starting as a comfortable 2-lane road end up narrowing to a grass alley with fences on either side of my car that prevented me from opening my doors when I abruptly hit a dead-end and needed to somehow back up and turn around.

Passed relative dreams are so wack. It re-opens healed wounds but sometimes its endearing.
Agreed. In the aforementioned dream, I figured it was my grandma's way of warning me of the dangers of getting into a situation that one can't easily get out of.

I finally put 2+2 together during the dream in a moment of lucidity and realized I didn't need to pass any more tests, homework or attend classes as I've been out of every level of my education for a decade. I woke up after that.
In my back to school dreams, there's usually some sort of consequence to my not going back to school. In one where I had to attend 8th grade for a day as an adult, I was told I would no longer be able to call myself an 8th grade graduate if I refused to comply.

In one of my own lucid dreams, I supposedly found an item that has been lost for well over 10 years now. As I looked down and saw it in front of me, I exclaimed, "This isn't real!" and immediately woke up.

My grandma's only had one dream about my grandpa since he passed. In her dream he told her to wake up. When she did, it was like 2 in the morning. Honestly that isn't out of character for him.

I had a similar one like that, but it was set in undergrad. I couldn't graduate if I didn't pass these courses I was skipping and not doing the work for....what's kind of weird is I never had one for my master's degree but maybe that's because it was just one year and less memorable.

It seems like once you figure out it's not real or something doesn't make sense, it ends. I'd be interested to have one where it keeps going after I know that but so far no luck.

I've had similar experiences with dreams involving a question for which I don't have an answer. In one, someone who had been purposely distant with me in real life was antagonizing me in the dream. When my in-dream self asked, "Why do you hate me so much?" I immediately woke up and suspected it was because I had no idea what the answer might be.

In both scenarios, it's as if the brain says, "I don't know the answer; I can't continue. Let's just wake up."

Suddenly reminded of an annoying as fuck dream I had yesterday. I was asleep in my bed and suddenly my phone started screeching. Then I woke up to see its screen was shattered. I thought shit it's under warranty anyway, went back to sleep, for a bit, then woke up again when it started smoking, caught on fire, and exploded and flew against the wall. When I went to get it, thousands of tiny little steampunk type gears fell out of it, like nanogears, far more than could possibly have fit into it.

Then I walked out into a house full of people, who I knew in the dream but not in reality. One of them mentioned the name of a person I actually did know, and I asked are they "Jim X of X" and they said "no, Jim X of Y." Then I for some reason made up a lie that I knew two people of that exact name, when I had actually known only one person of that name. The name in the dream was actually of someone I actually knew.

Then people started insisting we had to leave "to catch up with the people who left first," to the gathering we were supposedly going to. I had just gotten up. I was not going to an important gathering without at least showering first.

So I went to go do that. This was some huge sprawling complex of a house, so it should have been easy to find a shower, but I couldn't. When I found the first bathroom, someone was in it, insisting they needed it for some reason. Then I walked to the opposite end of the house, and found exactly the same bathroom at the end of it, with the same person obstructing it.

Then I noticed I was completely naked, and grabbed a towel to cover myself, which kept falling off.

Then I found a table of really good looking desserts, still wrapped only in a towel, around all my family members. I tried to eat some, but all the crumbs fell out of my mouth.

And then, the people who had been constantly insisting we had to leave immediately showed up and did it again, and I said this is so stupid it has to be a dream.

And as soon as I said the word "dream" I realized it actually was one, I'd been tricked again.

This isn't so much a weird dream as I suddenly got every single stupid ass fucking thing that occurs in dreams all at once in the same one.

In my dream I saw Madonna wearing a T-shirt that says "I don't listen to Oy Bands", and I laughed myself awake.

Had a dream where I was naked, alongside a group of men and women, in some dingy, dirty shower room that was infested with cockroaches and these weird slug creatures.

So yeah, not a good time.

I saw Dune a few weeks ago, and I guess that made me think about the books or something, because I had a dream that someone was trying to turn themselves into a half-worm creature by wrapping themselves in a blanket and slithering around. They kept on crawling into my bed and laying across my pillows, which pissed me off.

I had a dream last night where I was a hired assassin who never got info about her contracts beforehand. Got one to take out a helicopter that turned out to have the president in it. Which president, exactly, was a bit ambiguous. All I know was that I wasn't happy to find out who my target was after the fact.

I had a dream this week where I went to the beach with my dad and we had some sort of time pressure to be there. We got out of the car at the halfway point, he said "this way is faster" and we were walking through a bunch of people's back yards and little house boats. A bunch of yappy dogs were barking at us while we trespassed our way to the beach. It took forever and I just had this feeling of we were running out of time to get to the beach.
When we got to the beach there were all these vending machines lining the beach, a lot of them had weird bootleg toys. One had a bunch of light up snail and bug toys. Some of them were those It was really rainy and I got stuck on the beach by the water. There was an information booth and a lady was working there yelling at me to stop loitering. My dad laughed at me and told me I was loitering, then got in the car and drove away lmao.

A lot of my dreams involve needing to be somewhere but not being able to get there and they're really bizarre/vivid. This one a bit less so but the vending machines were cool.

Heres a couple that i wrote down.

1. me and brother watching Penn and Teller when we get hungry and get dinner at deli. We walked in and the owner is yelling and 3 people over the counter. My brother wanted a fake moustache and i wanted a ginger cream cheese sub. The man behind the counter looks like a mix between Paul Mooney and Samuel L. Jackson. He doesnt have anymore cream cheese so he teaches me how to make the sandwhich at home. Then the deli guy talks to us about his pet machine gun Starla. Then we watch The Simpsons and their all white instead of yellow.

2. See a homeless guy consult his box of crayons for legal advice. For every wrong answer, the homeless guy would break a crayon. For every right answer, he would eat a crayon.

Took a long nap earlier since I have to be up early as fuck in the morning, and I had two weird dreams.

In the first one, I had come back to some place that I was apparently from, but had left, to fight some kind of monster with a group of people. Apparently, we all had superpowers or something. After we killed it, we agreed to keep working together, then walked back towards where all of the people lived. Everyone was cheering, but most of "my" people (I guess like a tribe or something?) had been killed, but there wasn't anyone to greet me. I flipped myself over a fence and went and stood on a balcony, watching everyone celebrate. After awhile, someone I apparently was friends with came up to me and asked if I was going to stay, and I replied that I wasn't, since my superpower was apparently controlling gravity, and I could accidentally destroy everything with a stray thought.

I briefly woke up, then fell back asleep after about five minutes and had my second dream. I was in someone's house - who it was kept on changing- and he was passive-aggressively arguing with his wife; the living room was also full of sick(?) puppies. He asked me to come outside and help him with something, then walked outside. I followed him, but he was nowhere to be found. I knew where he went, but I had to park my already-parked car for some reason. I got in, drove in a circle in the road for a few minutes, then parked, only to have Barney Fife yell at me for some reason while banging on my hood before he drove away on a police moped.

Afterwards, I walked into where whoever was, and it had finally settled on being a single person, who I know from college. It was apparently some sort of bar/event space, and I think that the guy owned it. I walked up to the counter, and asked where he was, although I asked for him by a name that is nothing like his actual name. The guy at the counter responded that he didn't know.

Just then, two very attractive women walked by with shots, and both started flirting with me. I walk with them and do some shots, and one of them just kind of disappears. The woman says that we apparently live in the same apartment complex, and asks if I like to drink at home. She decides that the fact that I do, alongside the fact that I also have superpowers in this dream, means that she can bring me to an exclusive party.

We walk outside over to a guy who looks like Morpheus from The Matrix if you ordered him off of Wish, who is in charge of letting people go to the party or something. He says that only people like us are allowed in, and that I'll have to prove myself worthy by making my way there in a short amount of time. I demonstrate my apparent super strength by jumping about twenty feet onto the roof of a nearby building, then jumping back down and stating that that wouldn't be an issue for me.

The three of us walk into some shady-ass building, and we walk into a restroom. Morpheus from Wish walks into a stall, but disappears, which was apparently not supposed to happen. The woman suggests that he maybe materialized in another restroom, so we walk in, but he wasn't there. Some guy was in a stall though, and he was at least seven feet tall. He's apparently some kind of threat, so we run.

In the lobby of the building, a short black lady is using a pay phone. She hangs up, and tries to touch us; apparently, she is evil. She starts ranting and raving as her face begins to slowly rot. She walks to the door, saying crazy shit and trying to get us to come close enough for her to touch. The woman I was with tries using the pay phone to call for help, but it doesn't work, and the evil lady somehow makes the window by the pay phone into a door and walks back into the lobby. I yell at her, because I apparently also have a supersonic voice or something, but it doesn't affect her.

We run out of the building, and Rotten Face follows us. I can't get close enough to punch her to death, so I told whatsername to give me something to throw. She hands me an ottoman or barstool or something that she could apparently grab and pick up as we run. Rotten Face tells me to throw it straight up, saying that it wouldn't come back down and all kinds of other weird stuff, but I (obviously) throw it directly at her, which seems to surprise her. It starts to glow as it flies through the air, and then I woke up.

This is the second dream in a few months that I've had about people with rotten faces. :\

I remember a dream I was quite enjoying once, that was rudely interrupted.

I was out walking in the countryside and night fell, and there was this lady with me and we were both concerned we wouldn't be able to find the way back in the dark. So I said I think I could find the way, but I was worried about stumbling from being unable to see the terrain, and the woman was worried she would lose me in the dark, so she walked behind me with her arms around my shoulders and chest, to steady me she said and so she didn't lose me. The sky was full of stars and then the moon rose, and the countryside in the moonlight was beautiful, and I was enjoying the dream and the company of this lady who wasn't real in a romantic non-sexual way.

What was actually happening in the waking world, was that I was asleep and someone who was with me at the time was spooning with me and hugging me from behind. Which was quite nice until the same person decided to grab me by the hair, waking me up and ruining the pleasant dream.

The dream about the bathroom or shower that was dirty and full of critters I've had as well. I was a young kid at the time and I dreamed I desperately needed a piss, only to find the facilities filthy and covered with slugs and snails all on the floor and crawling up the tiles, with a hole in the middle of the floor leading to the floor below. What I did was aimed at the toilet and urinated with force while trying not to touch anything other than myself, to get it over as quickly as possible, and yes, I pissed the bed for that reason and woke myself up.

The other dream that seems to recur and isn't exactly enjoyable is the one where you're still at school or college and you never graduated, or you are trapped in a job you left years ago and forgot to go to.

This is the second dream in a few months that I've had about people with rotten faces. :\
I have a recurring dream where I'm walking through a city vaguely based on places I've lived, and I'm trying to get somewhere, but I'm lost. Often I end up in some kind of mall/hotel thing. For whatever reason my phone GPS won't work. Usually, this just goes on this way for a while and then meanders off aimlessly, with nothing more sinister happening.

Sometimes, though, it goes further. In this version, the more I try to orient myself, the more I get lost, and every block I take, the neighborhoods get more sketchy and dangerous. People follow me with apparently sinister intent, although none actually do anything. Again, this second stage is sometimes the end.

In the third, even rarer version, the sketchiness starts taking a supernatural form. The sky's color is dead, and everyone is gray-looking and rotten, like zombies. They don't seem to notice me at all, and shuffle along completely oblivious to their surroundings. Buildings are more than dilapidated and boarded up now. Many of them are ruins.

This is creepy enough I usually wake up here, although sometimes I'll recognize it as a dream and either wake up deliberately or turn the Sun back on.

The final stage of this dream, which I've only gotten to two or three times, the entire city is not just ruined, but endless streets with nothing but rubble in sight. Smoke rises from some of the piles. Absolutely nobody is around, although there are vague shadows that disappear when I look at them. The sky is blood red or pitch black, but in either case, I can still see clearly.

Finally, I see a mostly intact building up ahead, with some kind of light coming from the top. I get to the building and climb an extremely rickety set of stairs to the roof, where there is some kind of giant monster like one of the bosses from Shadow of the Colossus, and defeat it in a titanic battle. That ending is fun.

The other rotten face thing I have isn't a full dream, but something that sometimes happens in another dream. I'm talking to someone, and then suddenly right next to them is a fattish, bloated looking woman with a seriously fucked up and rotting face, just looking directly at me. She also has other wounds all over her. It's usually pretty gory.

The person I'm talking to can't see her, and for some reason, I'm pretending I don't, because acknowledging her would somehow have terrible results. Sometimes she just disappears and I forget about it for the rest of the dream, but sometimes she lunges at me, jolting me awake. Glad I haven't had this one in years.

In my dreams involving malls, it seems as if there is no exit no matter how hard I look for one. Worse, doing something as simple as four left turns which normally takes one back to the same place on started from only puts me deeper in a labyrinth of corridors as if the building layout is being manipulated to keep me from leaving even though what's happening Shouldn't be possible from a physical or building layout point of view.

The weirdest of my recent dreams was a back to school dream where I was taking what appeared to be a university-level course. In the middle of the lecture, a tooth randomly falls out of my mouth and disintegrates. As I try to figure out what's happening and discreetly pull out a mirror to look in my mouth, I notice the tooth has broken off at the gumline and that the rest of my teeth are covered in small dark spots leaving me confused as to what was happening to me.

I fell asleep in the break room at my job once and in the 30 minutes I was asleep I had a kinda vivid dream. It was at a Disney park (supposedly) but Daffy Duck was there and some people were saying to his face how Daffy Duck is a nigger. Eventually Daffy got mad and picked a fight with Donald Duck, but Donald Duck ran off so instead Daffy destroyed a Donald Duck plush and chucked it halfway across the park.

i just woke up from a dream where i fell in love with raihan from SWSH SO hard. i usually despise him and he was his usual cocky self at the beginning of the dream but after i saved him from some rogue alakazam that was trying to fuck shit up we kind of bonded? and he bought stuff for me
then i called my (irl) friends in the dream and told them about how i finally know what love feels like
extra pl note that i hate romantic relationships/ the thought of being in one with a real human being
i don't fucking know man i'm posting this where i'm in that half-asleep delusion after a dream where i'm still trying to calculate it was a dream
i'm blaming @LavenderMenace for this. no reason why
