Wendigoon Thread

I don't mean this in a harsh way, but I geuinely don't think Wendigoon knows what he's doing so he's just trying different things that might work.
I don't think he is trying new things out, so much as trying to grow as a buisness in terms of size. My impressons are that Wendi wants to expand his media empire to be similar to Mister Ballen where he has a ton of different channels and podcasts under his umbrella and networking with other creators hence why Wendi had that recruitment drive a few months back with lots of questions on the application form asking about new directions to take the channel. Maybe he had people suggust sports history as a direction and is reusing his throwaway 2nd channel for that niche (even though his main channel is a grab bag of topics and weird sports stuff would fit in just fine). The AI apology he posted in the super fan bank robber video points to the videos on the Wendigang channel being made by the new team and he doesn't really pay much attention to what they do so maybe the 2nd channel is just a proving ground for the new guys?

He said he was going to put lower effort videos he doesn't have time to research himself and is being handled by researchers he hired on his second channel.

So the split is High Effort videos on main channel, Churned/lower effort on the second.

It's like Sargon with Lotus eaters main podcast/Sargon's main channel vs Lotus eaters Daily/Akkad Daily.

At this point CreepCast is all I watch from Wendi. Tempted to check out King In Yellow, but idk if I really need Goon explaining another old story to me if it's anything like his Lovecraft vid.
I liked it, very chill like all of his content. I prefer when he makes lore videos on games/Analog stuff.

I didn't watch the Lovecraft vid so idk how he handled that one but King in Yellow was fine for a couple of hours of bland, mildly interesting literary analysis from someone who isn't up their ass about how important their take is to get me through the work day. Doubt I'll ever listen to it again or read the book but his wrap-up at the end did make me mildly interested in True Detective. If you want something like Creep Cast it's definitely not that

This video was pretty subpar, even compared to the furry bank robber one. Lots of little mistakes in wording and pronunciation, overall a poorly written script. Genuinely had me thinking it was written by AI or a third worlder at times. Wendi needs to get better a reading a script written entirely by other people. His personality only came through once he got into the true crime elements of the third player's death.

Dose anyone else noticed that one of the books in front of Meat canyon's desk is titled EAT THE RICH? It's weird because it looks like a bunch of comics and a vaguely mathematical book or a book on shapes.

Looks like this book:

Which is a “humorous explanation of economics”. The author was a National Lampoon writer who went on to write books like “Give War a Chance: Eyewitness Accounts of Mankind's Struggle Against Tyranny, Injustice and Alcohol-Free Beer“ and “The Baby Boom: How It Got That Way (And It Wasn't My Fault) (And I'll Never Do It Again)”. He died in 2022 in a small town in New Hampshire, maybe the Spire got him.

New EP up, 4 stories and an advertisement for what looks like A24 slop
Sounds like they sourced the wrong post for 11 Miles. Damn thing sounds like it was written by a non-English speaker and / or a child half-lucidly recalling the original story.
Fucking sucks, that was the best one out of all of them

I think I may need a break from Creep Cast. Between 10 uninterrupted minutes of Meat talking about how much he needs to shit and how hard they both botched the INCREDIBLY simple plot of Greywater, I went from scowling to wanting to outright scream at my phone.

Keep saying to myself to react to it, but I just immediately forget it exists. Interesting if you find the individual stories notable (though the last one is pretty alright), as far as coincidences go it's really weak. Having minority people shoot up to stardom only to die young is pretty much a certainty. Dying near water isn't hard when most of the planet is covered by it.
