TL;DW A movie from china (Ne Zha 2) has made $2,164,080,000 in the box office (with a budget of $80 million [in US dollars]). Which is insane as this is just profits made within China's homeland, not anywhere else in the world yet. On top of that, this is the first and only animated film to reach $2 Billion dollars in profits, it is currently the 5th highest grossing film of all time (right behind Titanic) and the #1 highest grossing animated film of all time.

All this to say is that China (and Nips in general) has completely BTFO of Disney and all the other western schlock that has been shit out by Hollywood as of late, and that foreigners are capable of producing big budget films that rivals anything from the US. If I were Jewish, I'd be paying very close attention to what's going on in foreign lands right now if this is any indicator (or just go back to another drug binge).
IF those numbers are real...

For one thing, never trust numbers out of China. In this specific instance, I've heard accounts of people going to watch a movie, and they would be sold "another" ticket because things were being encouraged to pump the numbers.

i.e. It would be like if you were going to see Barbie, but they sold you a ticket to Oppenheimer to fluff it's numbers, then let you go into the Barbie theater anyway.

I heard this movie was literally government-mandated that everyone had to go see it. Any truth to it?
Would not surprise me if literally, but it's probably a bit more subtle than that. (like bonus points on your social credit score if you attend)

So this is interesting.

The real question is do Disney or Hollywood even care that a chink animated movie blew their assholes out? My guess is no.

Since this is a sequel (at least it's implied by the number 2 in the title), that would raise a couple of questions:
  1. What are the numbers (e.g. money) regarding the first movie?
  2. What did this second movie do that was improved upon from the first one?

The real question is do Disney or Hollywood even care that a chink animated movie blew their assholes out? My guess is no.
No one talks about the fact that China recently spooked Hollywood into not wanting to entertain their own country’s viewers with their recent box office hits from America

As of now, it seems that China does not care for Disney or Hollywood, but I would not be surprised that after this entertainment trade war is temporarily stopped, they’ll probably be back on Hollywood’s doorstep waiting to see how much animated work can be (sort of) outsourced to them.

On one hand, I don't believe China, but on the other hand, I wish it were 100% true and natural because Disney's slop doesn't deserve to hold a record.

So I admit, I like some modern Disney slop, and that mostly being Coco since it was the most watchable of any of their shit. Saw it in theatres too.
Coco is really good, especially for Pixar's first(?) musical. For every live-action flop, you get something enjoyable like Inside Out, Moana, Coco etc. so I haven't written Disney and/or Pixar off entirely just yet. I just wish they'd tackle traditional animation again, there's no reason it has to be an either/or situation with CG films.

I also like Wreck-it Ralph...wish the sequel didn't exist as it basically erased any and all message the first film had by having Vanellope abandon her own game to join a shitty MMO racer that'll get shut down at some point, and NO ONE BATS A FUCKING EYE. Bonus points for screwing up the Disney Princesses too even more...

You what what pisses me off most of all about that movie? The oh my Disney scene. It's basically the rat showing off and stroking it's planet sized ego by saying: look at all the stuff we own! We own marvel, we own star wars, and we own you! The brain dead consumer. Even if a good chunk if the internet hates us there will still be plenty of pigeons ripe for us to pluck.

It's the equivalent of that scene in drawn together where the jew producer made the housemates stare at his microphone dick for hours to be allowed back into the drawn together house.

I watched Elemental for the first time not too long ago and found myself rewatching it. The marketing for it was crap, it's actually a cute little romcom. I wish they'd be spineful enough to market movies they make that AREN'T standard family adventure movies.

Yeah it was surprisingly enjoyable and wholly let down by way they presented it pre-release. Looked great, too.

I almost walked out during that scene, because it wasn't even relevant to the original fucking premise of Ralph going on adventures with other gaming icons. 2 should've had Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Street Fighter cameos and supporting roles, maybe even made references to other modern icons with Calhoun and Felix saying they went on a double date with Samus and Master Chief or something outlandish. Instead it was Iron Man, Stormtroopers and a Q/A with Baby Groot? Fuck all of that.

Man its been ages since I seen that show.

So Disney's Big City Greens has officially aired it's 100th episode, and according to this article.

They apparently got not only J.G. Quintel to guest star in an upcoming episode, but Zach and Michael too.

Surprised to see at least a cartoon show still going despite every other one dying around it. Good for them I guess. I still won't forget those weird asf tweets from a storyboard artist saying how "funny" it was adding apples to a kid's butt to make it big.

Lmao, what is this islamic content trailer by prime video on youtube.
I gave this a watch out of boredom. It was so stupid it looped back to being funny on accident. Tries doing Boondocks style over-the-top satire but lacks the self-critical awareness that made it work. The father is treated as a loser for trying to assimilate, while the mother insists on being an obnoxious ethnic alienating the host nation still reeling from her culture's actions. Too caught up in underhanded seething about wypipo to do any introspection.

Post-2010 Disney movies that I really liked: Wreck-It Ralph and Moana. Encanto grew on me and I appreciated an original IP.
Post-2010 Pixar movies that I really liked: Coco

2010 was the end of an era, with Disney putting out Tangled (their last true classic princess movie and last romance to date), and Pixar putting out Toy Story 3 (what should have stayed the perfect ending to their premier franchise). I don't know what happened after 2010. I wonder if we will ever get another Disney movie with a romance plot between the MCs. Upcoming productions list is just depressing to look at.
