That never happened to me when I used that website; is this a new thing or does this happen when there's no adblock/ublock on that site?

It told me it has a set timemark where if you go pass the 5 minute mark, WCO puts up the red page, but it only happened to me one time. I was using Brave Browser which has an integrated adblock. It seemed to be a one-time thing though. I tested again in WCO and it didn't happen again. Weird.

I cant help but wonder if bruce and timm based this aspect of Harley on a minor character in the dark knight returns. That comic also had a "pop psychologist." Which were a thing at the time who believed he had cured the joker but clearly the guy was doing it to make money selling snake oil self help to suckers.

Big difference between him and Harley? Joker didn't kill Harley on national tv then host and the studio audience.

Oh, wow. I never really like that stiff, overshadowed, faux anime look of the DC animated films, but those guys also sound like they're reading off a cue card while ODing on valium. Maybe I'm falling into the 'adaptation is never as good as the version in your head' trap, but I feel the need to post up some comic panels.







I never really got the feeling Dr Wolper was just in it for the fame, but that he honestly believed that the Joker was a poor victim of Batman's psychosis and madlad Frank Miller was having a go against the wokists and politicized psychobabble of his day. "You've got rights. Lots of rights. Sometimes I count them just to make myself feel crazy." I take the point and parallel of an arrogant psychiatrist thinking they had the Joker wrapped round their finger, though.

So I watched both seasons of Lastman and it was really fun. Especially season 2 with its nonlinear narrative from different POVs that eventually reveals the bigger picture.
The short of it: It's a French cartoon that's a prequel to the comic of the same name. It's about a boxer who ends up getting dragged into supernatural events that eventually lead to a fantasy world where most of the comics take place(I haven't read them yet) It's pretty funny, has some nice action and music. Season 1 is made up of 26 10 minute episodes so they're really snappy and fast paced. Season 2 is just 6 episodes but they're around 40 minutes each but they really didn't feel their length to me. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger that I assume the comics will pick up, as there's no season 3 announced yet.

Couple notes though: Season 1 has an English dub if you can't stand frog with subtitles. Season 2 doesn't however and it's also inaccessible as shit. Had to dig through some torrent sites to finally find it and then put in some fan subs I found somewhere else. And it wasn't in the highest quality. Still, I found it to be worth the effort.

Probably the biggest difference is that creators actually made cartoons for, you know, kids.

Nowdays, Rebecca sugar and her circle make cartoons for man children all while trying to pat themselves in the back for indoctrinating children.

This apparently came out yesterday in Murica. Based on a Discworld book by Terry Pratchett, screenplay by Terry Rossio (co-writer for the original 1992 Aladdin, the first Shrek, and all 5 Pirates of the Caribbean movies). Pretty polarizing response. On the one hand:

He's alright as far cartoon spergs go. I've seen way worse. Steve's not even worth a blip in the internet famous board so long as he keeps his nose clean.

Wait America is only just getting it? This was out 2 months ago.

It's honestly not bad but frankly in terms of tone it's the Tangled animated series in how dark it gets, The source book in contrast is much more Colin Dann or Richard Adams by way of Terry Pratchett (Animals of Farthing Wood or Watership Down by way of Discworld). I cannot fairly say it's awful but it could have been something that left a serious impression on children not the weak effort it manages.

It's also not just that it isn't dark enough it also doesn't touch on any of the more mature stuff the Pratchett thought a childish audience could cope with. The strength found in the weak sticking to their principles, the weakness in clinging to the past just because it was familiar, that condescension did not actually make you better than that which you mocked.

What’s insane to think about is that the shows from the 2010’s are ones that I barely recognize or ones that would never be on the best of 2010’s list. The latter is far more better than the former.

I'd say I'm more positive towards those shows than a lot of users here, but I can't disagree that the 90's and early 2000's were a high point for Western animation. If I had to write out a top 10/20, then shows from those eras would probably make up the majority of the list(s) with a few 2010's shows here or there.

I'm shocked that Teen Titans Go will be ten years old in April. I've only seen it a handful of times, but I'll never forget the unbridled, autistic rage it spawned.
