Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
finally set aside some time to go see spiderverse and see what it was like.
i also focused on gwen to see if i could detect any troon qualities.
i am happy to report that gwen herself isnt one from what i gathered and the flag she's got in her room is most likely just propaganda from leftists that demanded it be in the film.
the film itself is very visually intense (sometimes it was hard to even keep up) but i am very impressed how they managed to blend 3d animation, 2d animation and various special effects to make it as visually cohesive as possible (the only other film i know of that did anything as similar as this is who framed roger rabbit).
i was very disappointed in indian spiderman, hes just a bunch of stereotypes and nothing else (its not even done intelligently its just one stereotype after another).
i am also disappointed with
how the movie ends on a clift hanger, 2+ hours of my life gone only to be told to go watch the next movie
all in all its an alright movie, if you got the time and the seats are cheap its worth an afternoon.

I'm watching this piece of shit on a movie pirating site right now LMFAO what the fuck is this???? I'm laughing but not at the jokes the film makes. So are the water people supposed to be niggers or crackers??

edit: Just finished watching this and it was worse than I thought it would be. Half of the conflicts in the movie wouldn't have even happened if Ember had vaporized wade (the water man) in the beginning. The clips shown in the trailer didn't even appear in the movie, nor did the song. The water people in the movie are definitely supposed to be white people kek. Maybe they're wiggers.

Guy was always a diversity hire back in his first appearance in 2002 I think. It was part of Marvels foreign franchising at the time along with Marvel Manga similar to how DC did Batman the world last year with 100 Batmans from all over the world. Marvel Manga at least had Kazuo Koike as writer for the X Men and Marvel Bandes Dessinees had Milo Manara and Moebius working on them, Marvel India had a bunch of nonsense propped up by nobodies.

It seems people who worked on the new Spiderverse movie are accusing Chris and Phil of unprofessional behavior.
It sounds like inter/intra studio/executive jealousy/politics making a bog standard hit piece comprised of anonymous "trust me bro" with the main complaint being "how dare they expect us to hit deadlines, we need that morning overpriced coffee".

It reminds me when they did the same for Red Dead Redemption 2.

At least the march towards AI will silence those artists.

It's been a long time since I read it, but I remember it was more or less a knock-off of the Tobey Maguire movie but in India with Indians. The Indians I knew loved it though, back then it didn't feel as much like pandering because the comic writers didn't spend so much time sucking themselves off.

I was one of them and I got Spiderman India #1 as a bonus issue for Ultimates #5 when I was 13, 2013. It wasn't overt pandering and it certainly wasn't a copy of the movies, it was a weird mishmash of ditko spiderman mixed with ultimate Spiderman filtered through an Indian lens. It was really boring tokenism, just the average Spiderman lore with a different aesthetic although I did find the name conversions pretty smart but everything else was just replaced names and places. I would attribute it to franchising cause a lot of people did try to pander to India in the early 2000s from Marvel to Cartoon network to anime stuff to others. Some of it worked like animax, some of it didn't. If it was organic like the collaborations with kazuo koike for X-Men, the blame author for wolverine snikt, moebius for silver surfer beyond, katsuhiro otomo for Batman black and white and the like, then it would've probably been better. Although I will say, the best media about India is made by foreigners, especially Japan.

Not movies, the quality varies wildly, but India's movie industry is rather impressive. I've seen movies from there I'd place right up there with a lot of western media. I can't speak to anything else though.

If any of you autists have an hour to spare and enjoy considering 3d anime made by western hands then try this. Warning some audio is missing.
This is something Elemental could never achieve, Creativity.

Its trash, it caters to the lowest common denominator with constant exaggeration, consistent and overused tropes, annoying fucking music and editing. The worst part being theres no self awareness, all of it is serious and taken seriously by audiences who play it off as "emotional" when the right word there is cringy and overdone. In comparison, I still watch Ramayan the legend of Prince Ram with the Bryan Cranston english dub and am able to enjoy it.

TFW you find out Ren and Stimpy Adult Cartoon Party is 20 years old...

I don't get the hate for it. Yea, it's not as good as the classics, but they aren't absolute dogshit either.

The whole point of them was for John K to give the fans what they wanted (e.g. more psychodrama, more gross-out humor, etc...) that couldn't be possible under Nickelodeon, and that's exactly what we got.

My only real issue is whomever they got for the sound designer because on more than one occasion there's scenes in all the episodes that have dramatic music that are completely uncalled for and don't properly compliment what's being shown on the screen. Almost like it was done for the sake of having them there because "OG R&S had it so why not here?"

so it's just South-Asian anime?

Live action, south asian anime which is done in the style of an american comedy sitcom like Friends or Big Bang theory. Imagine an action movie where the hero has plot armor, manufactured overdone expressions, fights with visible fake punches and shit choreography, romantic comedy with the token love interest, some music videos inserted into the film to justify a soundtrack and a sidekick third wheel who is completely unfunny, youve got the template of 90% of Indian cinema. And all of it is done completely straight with no self awareness.

Jfc the absolute state of Disneyfans
There was an article in A&H the other day talking about gays have higher than average dark triad traits, chiefly narccisism, and this video is the perfect example of that.

None of his arguments is "It would make the story better", literally all of them are "I would like it more, it would appeal more to me, I want to see it." he's so unbelievably narcissistic he thinks the entire world should revolve around him and his wants.

Also, that guy should probably be on several lists because he said when he saw luca it was "obviously" a gay love story.
