Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I never understood why Total Drama has the same contestants appear in multiple seasons, instead of having a new set of contestants with each season. It's probably to cut costs, in terms of needing to design new characters, and hire VAs to do them, and some VAs already voice multiple characters in the TD series, i.e. Scott McCord (I think that's how it is spelled) voicing Owen and Trent.
The original total drama was a satirical take on the reality tv craze. I might be reading to deep into it but it might have been a deliberate decision to show how all the contestants in all these shows where chosen to fill in a trope to make the viewers interested.

The idea of a show parodying reality television wasn't new at the time Total Drama happened, but it's the final product that made the show great. This is also how I feel about Drawn Together.

The original cast filled every main teenage stereotype possible. When they did a new cast in Revenge, you can tell how stretched thin they were for new interesting figures that were also relatable. By Pahkitew Island, they lost all ability to make an exciting cast that still felt grounded in reality like season 1-3 had.

There is also the idea that they got to flesh out the contestants by keeping them around. Heather easily became the greatest player through her redemption arc in seasons 2-3. Cody and Noah went from literal dead-weight to favorites through their continued play in season 3.

Just found out the Loud house fandom exists and wish I didn't.
All of are just WTF man.

Literally noone. There are people who needed to pause the video to do something else with their lives, or hell, watch something else.
On praise of shadows is one of those channels you think at first is ok...but then you get to their more...modern videos where they have to filter litterally everything through a current year lense

Had anyone watched Flying Rhino Junior High? Is it any good?

I randomly bumped into its page on Tvtropes and recalled seeing pictures off it in an English textbook.

Some Huge Leak News apparently:
Pipeline Studios (which is a company that's responsible for producing and distributing some kids shows) had a bit of an oopsie with their content management in the IT department that had their stuff freely open to the public Internet.
/co/ thread here that talks about the events going on: https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/140970019/#140970019

This includes leaked videos of character models of that new Spongebob movie focusing on Sandy

But probably the biggest leak to come out of this was some stuff from this PBS Kids show called "Elinor Wonders Why" featuring the pilot episode, Pitch Bible, and confirmation of a season 2 in the works since it's apparently been a few years since the first season of the show ending.

Lot of the catbox links are probably dead by the time I post this since lawyers are scrambling to shut it all down, so here's a magnet link of hopefully everything included:

EDIT: More Season 2 stuff in this Google Drive that was posted (probably won't take long before it's jannied by lawyers tho): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_rDrNKSIPKeLPeN4l2lRvnGYkwxbNRcv

again with the fucking preschool shit. I legitimately am baffled that people were legitimately on the edge of their seats on whether or not a second season of a PBS KIDS show was happening.

From what I've seen, /co/ loves both that show and Bluey. Pretty comfy shows but fanbases are extremely autistic.

You've also got those handful on /trash/ who are into Go, Dog, Go! celebrating it's recent fourth season.
I remember someone joking about it having better art than most of Dreamworks's main output. After looking at some screenshots, I actually think they have a point.
Looks like /caca/ won ...again.

it's been over a decade since I've seen it but I remember it as a serviceable and inoffensive pseudo-edutainment kids' thing. I was always rooting for the incel basement dweller villain, even his pet rat makes fun of him the poor bastard.

That thing where he transforms the school every episode seemed fun, reminded me of O'Grady (we had it on tv), which I liked.
