Someone played a Mong-metal band called The Hu for me last night. What are the chances I should read a comment about something as obscure as Mongolian Folk Metal the very next day? It gets harder to believe in coincidences every day.

The good thing about bands such as Kiss or their die-hard fans is that you can ignore them. Sure I like a handful of Kiss songs but it's not like I'm there to rage or cringe at actions by the band or their fans. Just give me a few minutes to listen to Love Gun or Detroit Rock City and I'm happy.
With Taylor Swift or Betonce, it seems they're everywhere. No matter what you do you're forced to hear about them. Be it social networking sites, news site, popular media and even sports your insulted with their likeness. Only death you'd find peace from today's pop stars.
any male younger than 35 who claims to be heavily into Radiohead.
Some years back, I am at a Radiohead gig and the young males next to me start apropos of nothing trying to attract my attention and mansplain Radiohead to me. I am feeling unusually docile this evening so simply go for "um hm" and gently ignoring them.
They continue. This starts to interfere with my enjoyment of the gig. They inquire patronisingly if I have ever heard 'early' Radiohead, by which they apparently mean OK Computer. (Jesus wept.)
I explain I first saw Radiohead in 1995, which from the looks of them was actually before they were born. Their shocked faces indicate that I am correct.
They bugger off and go and annoy some other poor bitch. Radiohead in the mid nineties were a band for girls, 'the lads' were all into Oasis. Do not ever try to fucking mansplain Radiohead.
I've never understood Radiohead, their stuff has for the most part very pretentious and self-congraluatory to me. It's not bad in the traditional sense it's just the smugness and aura that annoys me.
Creep and Fake Plastic Trees are ok songs. But I don't get Radiohead either. It's one of those bands where no matter how much I listen I do not understand the fanfare. Guess it's just not for me. Same with Rush. I recognise the talent and the importance to rock history. But I'm not going to go out of my way to listen to them. If they're on the radio then I won't turn it off. But I'm not gonna listen to a couple of Rush albums. That's just too much Rush. I remember for some birthday or album anniversary the local station played a really long Rush song on vinyl. That's really cool and great for Rush fans. But it's just not my thing.
as funny it sounds in russia there's a massive infamy towards any post punk bands since molchyat doma came up and every fucking retard and his buds believe their offshot group about russian depression of commieblock living is going to not be forgotten overnight
Nightcore- Pedo. Possibly also a tranny. Plays too much League of Legends/Overwatch/Guily Gear Strive. Hosts many discord servers, is a member of hundreds more. Severly deppressed, addicted to porn. Autistic, but not the fun kind.
The sort of person who claims to like Zeal & Ardor is always a fag of some kind. Imagine the typical Ghost fan, but super woke and highly online. The music iteslf is unlistenable, so being a fan tells me that their taste, as well as their politics and personality, is terrible.
Women who are into Type O Negative are likely cutters who should be avoided, even if you are an adult who still wants to hook up with "metal chicks" in your 30s and 40s, as they will cut you at some point.
Considering I have come across men, who are not simps but also fans, I might as well become a hermit.
Joking aside, and thread tax but:
Certain people who listen to classical music. Now I listen to some too, I will admit that. But some people fucking love to brag about it and act as if they are enlightened and superior to everyone else even though classical music is really just a genre, not a status symbol - despite pop culture treating it as such.
I tend to get wary if I talk music with someone and they say how modern music is shallow and pathetic, then go to glaze the dead assholes of Offenbach and Paganini.
And yeah I too like their works but if you have to trash Billie Eilish to prove a point, then that says to me you're an cunt with a superiority complex.
Renaldo & The Loaf, DEVO, and similar middle-of-the-line avant-garde musicians (except for The Residents, as they're a bit calmer and normie-friendly)
The Grateful Dead and Sublime (I forgot about these bands until I read the OP)
Spiritualized
Tom Lehrer
Less famous Kinks songs
Early Pink Floyd
Captain Beefheart
Glenn Branca and Sonic Youth
The Sex Pistols, The Dead Kennedys, Descendants, Social Distortion, and similar older punk artists that fit here better than category 3
Nu Schizo:
Mitski
Sewerslvt
Jazmin Bean
Billie Eilish
Penelope Scott
XXXTentacion, $uicideboy$, Mac Miller, and similar emo rappers
Melanie Martinez
Femtanyl
The Decemberists
Sophie (pretty talented compared to a lot of the aforementioned artists, but still in the nu schizo OR troon scene, maybe both)
Troon and/or political sperg:
100 Gecs (good musicianship and video production, but reading troon shit in the comments section and their fans invading Parry Gripp comments sections are cringe)
Phil Ochs
Woody Guthrie (similar folky musicians like Bob Dylan, Harry McClintock, Howlin Wolf, Bert Jansch, and Lead Belly seem less preachy)
Songs like Hanging On The Old Barbed Wire, Fortunate Son, and Napalm Sticks To Kids
Rucka Rucka Ali (amusing music, but unfortunately, I think many fans skew the obvious satire to further a serious agenda)
Straightedge and other super clean-sounding punk (like Gorilla Biscuits, Ten Yard Flight, The Velvet Underground, Green Day, The Refreshments, and X Ray Spex)
David Bowie
Lady Gaga
AJJ (Andrew Jackson Jihad)
Zoomer video game music (I mean this for new stuff and maybe this for old stuff more than stuff like this and this, but troons seem to like most SP and a few MP games)
Gen X or millennial roastie:
Most country music past the 70s (occasionally dipping into the 70s and before), though some nu country has a nice energy
Guns n Roses fans are either passionate for classic rock (like Grand Funk Railroad, Skid Row, Monster Magnet, Steppenwolf, and Motley Crue) OR substance-abusing tastelets
Queen
The Doors
Led Zeppelin
Mid-to-Late Pink Floyd
Bon Jovi
Most grunge (except for Mudhoney, Green River, Tad, Bush, and Soundgarden [only their less mainstream shit])
Most mainstream classical music and smooth jazz (though some nicher stuff like Paganini and Ornette Coleman attract a different crowd)
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, old-timey Christmas music [like Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree], and similar artists
Annoying bitch:
Plain White T's
Ppl who liked Glass Animals before Heat Waves (this is probably the biggest red flag of all mentioned here, like possibly even more than Swifties and K-POOP stans)
Taylor Swift
Mother Mother (they're the least talented artist on this entire list), Muse, Blink-182, Weezer, and My Chemical Romance (they can be good, but their fans are wildcards)
Lemon Demon and Modest Mouse (it depends, since their music CAN be good, but their fans often have AIDS)
Jack Stauber (they're OK every once in a rare while, but again, lame fans)
Later generation K-POP (earlier gen K-POP attracts pretentious millenial perfume enthusiasts who actually care about the art form, but late gen K-POP stans are plagued)
Justin Bieber (both old and new, simply different demographics of annoying bitches)
Michael Jackson
Joji (not bad, but he's kind of a sellout for completely abandoning Filthy Frank, even if nobody lived a double life as skillfully as him)
Sperg:
Ween (they rule, but let's face it, mostly autistic people are still listening past Quebec, Ween's two or three greatest non-Quebec hits, and the age of 17)
Nintendo and SEGA OST (if you're not a schizo, you're probably at least a based autist if you actively listen to these, unless you're a girl listening to PKMN OST)
The Residents
Insane Clown Posse
Brostep, metal (it depends), and europop/eurodance
Ratboy Genius (probably my favorite type of sperg, like even my normie-ish uncle thought they were cool)
Nu metal (Korn has good lyrics and music theory sometimes, but not much else solid nu metal past them, and even their fans are usually spergy)
Baths (good music, but still spergy)
Pink Guy (see my points about Joji, then add that the music itself is far more rudimentary [even though Joji somehow made Harlem Shake a while back, and that was OK])
Megadeth (good, but high-pitched vocals like Guns n Roses with only a portion of the talent to back them up, and an extremely elitist fanbase)
Uncategorized (but still an unusual gut feeling about their fans, for better or worse):
Frank Zappa
Prince
Eminem
GG Allin
Dinosaur Jr
Les Ralizes Denudes
/mu/core (particularly Radiohead, Animal Collective, The Smashing Pumpkins, Death Grips, Neutral Milk Hotel, MGMT, CSH, Tyler the Creator, Neil Young, and Kanye West)
Bjork
TOOL
The Beatles
I like all of these at one point or another depending on my mood (except for the ones I mention below).
I dislike: Glass Animals, Taylor Swift, Mitski, Sewerslvt, most of Billie Eilish, TOOL, Kanye West, Blink-182, The Refreshments, and Jack Stauber's discography, most k-pop, Mother Mother, Jazmin Bean, The Dead Kennedys, and The Sex Pistols (they may grow on me, but right now, they seem poserish).
What type of music do I like that generally attracts less weird and/or stereotypical fans, then? Nick Cave, Tom Waits, slightly more underground rock [like Spacemen 3 and The Melvins], more obscure Soundgarden songs, Bruce Haack, early electronic (like Oskar Sala), Hakobune, Ghibli soundtrack, Parannoul, and obscure shit with a low presence.
KISS- A cryptid. KISS has sold billions of dollars in records and merch, but I have yet to meet a single person who listens to them. Even boomers I know with classic rock collections don't have a single KISS album. Possibly a fake band. Met one guy that claimed to listen to KISS, asked him about it. He stuttered furtively, gave half-answers. After that I never saw him again. Got a strange headache. Saw Mothersome men in a van outside my house. My headache disappeared the moment they left.
Kanye West was this with me when I was going through college. Every time I heard a song, it somehow had Kanye West in it. I fucking hated it. You know, Kanye West, whatever. He's a schizophrenic now. I don't care. But holy shit, I'm listening to rap. Okay. Well, he's black. I'm listening to country. Somehow, Kanye West gets into it. I'm listening to rock (pop rock) and Kanye West, is in it. And I'm like, okay, well let me listen to some Korean pop. Let me just figure out what I like about music and he is in the middle of Kpop. Fuck him.
How do you feel about people wearing T shirts of bands decades before their time and know nothing about them? Can't name a single song? You see a 15 year old kid wearing a Nirvana T shirt or maybe something less well know like STP? Or just Zepplin's famous Icarus logo?
I had a roommate who was big into these twats. He spent no less than two hours telling me about the lore behind this band (in my defense I was thoroughly baked).
