What are you playing right now?

Just finished the Cathedral of the Deep in Dark Souls 3. For being my first Souls game, I'm hooked and plan on buying the season pass and Dark Souls 2.

I just found out the Assasin's Creed Brotherhood servers are still apparently running, which is great because the MP was the only thing worthwhile in that game anyway. So yeah, been stealth murdering other players all day on my ps3.

Slither.io is super fun, and it's one of those online games you just can't get mad at.

King's Field: The Ancient City Day 11:

I continue on through the Egg Field, lots of Widdas and mine carts about. I eventually came across a Widda egg, wasn't sure what to do with it at first, so I just left it in my inventory, just in case it was a consumable item. Took me a while, but I finally found where I was supposed to go. There was a weirdo behind a hidden wall panel that demanded a widda egg before he can unlock the door. I gave up the egg and he let me go on my merry way.

Inside, I find myself fighting more skeletons. I also face some giant floating skulls that had a purple haze around them. Not too tough to deal with, but I did use up a lot of healing items. As I continue my way though, I finally find myself at the first floor of the Ancient City. With water everywhere, and a room with a save point, warp point, AND a fountain that healed both my health and my magic. Too bad there wasn't a vendor I can buy healing items from. Speaking of which, the shady guy is no longer at his usual spot, so now I have to head back to the Engineer area and buy stuff from the guy who hangs out in the tunnels. Kinda inconvenient, but whatever.

I then made my way though a dimly lit area with a bunch of new enemies. Some lady archers, a gorilla like dark creature, some dudes who clearly masturbate too much, and giant spiders. I got my ass handed to me a few times before I finally made it through.

I then found myself in an area with very beautiful and peaceful music. Ahead of me was a bridge with what looked like magical wind current blowing by it. I was too distracted by how lovely the music was, that I didn't realize those winds actually hurt and knock me off the bridge. Couldn't help but laugh for a good long while after that.

A few deaths later, I decided to use a wind protection spell to make it across. (Don't know if that actually helps, but I made it across, so meh.)On the other side, I found some angry club wielding ogres that were surprisingly easy to take down. I made my way into "The Mansion of Howling Winds", fighting past more giants, until I come across another boss. This dude had a hammer that inflicted dark on me, and he had two giants fighting alongside him, but somehow, I came out on top and finally got the Serrak's Key.

I used my new key to unlock some of the doors, and found something that can purify water. Wasn't sure how I was going to use it at first. I made my way up to the top floor of the mansion and found Serrak's corpse. His spirit tells me about the history of his people and how the water needed to be purified. As I make my way back to the Central Tower, I took a little detour and entered an area covered in poisonous water and slime monsters. I came here earlier, but chose to back away as soon as I saw what I was getting into. Now though, I head into the room across from the entrance and inserted the item that can purify the water into a slot. Part of me felt kinda good to help this dead guy out.

I explored some of the rooms, killed off the biggest red slime in the world in one hit, and made my way down. I entered a very evil looking place and decided that I should head back and restock. Afterwards, I went back to the Forest and unlocked the chest containing the final eye. I talked to the lady sitting by the fountain and told me the sword that I got off of Septiego once belonged to the Forest King, and that I should enchant it with light or something like that. It was at that point that I felt I was ready to take on that damned four armed knight that kept me from moving forward.

So I went through the gauntlet, and took the guy down. Only to find that I had to face two more like him as I went through this gauntlet. No problem. I played ring-a-round-the-rosey with the last two guys and finally made my way into the room behind the King's throne. I went into a lovely little room that enchanted my lawful blade with the power of light. As I left, the spirit of the dead king told me to go down and slay "The Dark One", who has been mentioned a few times up till now.

It was then I realized that the scary looking area I chose to back out of was probably the place where the Dark Folk were sealed so long ago. And that my journey was probably going to soon reach its climax. With my new badass sword and badass divine armor in tow, I forged my way down there. I fought a bunch of skeletons that went down in one shot. I felt awesome, and that nothing can stop me. Then I quickly got my ass handed to me by a winged demon that looked like something from an SMT game. : (

It was at that point I decided to call it a day.

King's Field: The Ancient City Day 12:

I made my way through the Old Battleground. I was able to take down the winged demons (who also raised skeletons from the ground). On my way through, I noticed some armor trapped within a dark seal. I've noticed two other armor pieces that were also sealed away through the city. I then figured that now that I have my sword powered up, I could acquire it. And so I did. The armor belonged to a powerful warrior of the Forest Folk, who was apparently cursed along with his sword. (Which I also found) I made my way between two rows of graves, all talking about how the Darkness is the truth. One of them however said that the Light uncovers all.

I entered the cave and found what I believed was the last of the Dark One's followers. He had a bunch of archers helping him out, but thanks to my wind spell and my newly aquired dark spell that increased my attack, I was able to take him down.

I entered the room beyond, found something called "The Altar of Darkness". I then thought, "Is this it? Am I finally going to get rid of the idol?" So I selected the idol in my inventory, and lo and behold! It worked! The idol was destroyed! I did it! It's over!

Oh if only it were so easy... The platform I was on crumbled after the idol got destroyed. And I found myself in this strange place with the main theme playing in the background. Down there, I fought my way through hordes of goopy looking creatures. They packed a punch, but they were so slow and had very little in the way of attacking that they weren't really much of a threat individually. I did get myself caught between enemies and the gas coming from the snake things on the wall, so I died quite a few times down there.

It was at this point I was actually getting frustrated a bit. The goopy creatures weren't hard at all. It's just that they soak up so much damage that fighting them became increasingly tedious as I kept going through here over and over again. Eventually, on a later try, I just ran past all of them.

So then, I find myself in the domain of the Dark One. In it were darkness spewing wyverns and these strange floating golems that switched their form of attack depending on how close or far I was to them. On their own merits, they were tough opponents, however, it was the fact that they constantly respawned that I became really overwhelmed. I made it to the Dark One, but when I attacked, he knocked me down to the floor below him, which had two golems ready to turn me into paste.

I found myself dying over and over and over again to the enemies within this place. On my last attempt, I decided to use the Widda Bow to deal with the wyverns. And I just fought my way through the golems until I had a clear path to run. What I had to do to beat the boss was to simply attack him three times. I had to run through the enemy gauntlet twice before he turned to stone and crumbled before me.

And so it ends. The forest has returned to its initial splendor, the kingdom is back to normal, and from what I can tell, I became King.

What a journey this game was. Like holy crap. I only spent a little under 20 hours to beat the game, but it really feels like I spent much longer in it. The game's world was massive, with no loading times in between, the atmosphere was haunting, the music was beautiful, and the sense of progression in strength felt so good. I do kinda wish the various spells I've acquired in the game had more use. To me, it felt like I mostly got by just fine with melee weapons. (Although the end of the game did have me using the light spell a lot to freeze enemies in place) I suppose if I used the Queen's Staff, maybe my magic would have kicked a lot more ass. Oh well.

I do have a few questions though:

1. Who was that guy who gave me the idol in the intro? Did I already meet him/her in the game? Could I have missed him/her?

2. What was beyond that door that required me to be "Kingly"?

3. Was the MC actually a descendant of the Forest Folk? Was he the "Prince" that was banished or something like that?

4. How did Septiego get a sword that belonged to the Forest King? Was it stolen by one of his own king's men?

5. Who brought the idol to the kingdom in the first place?

So many questions so little time. Regardless, I had quite a bit of fun with this game. It was nice seeing some of the roots of the Souls games.

Trying out Rocket League because it's free on Steam this weekend, and after a couple hours with it, I would definitely buy it for keeps if I had money in my Steam wallet.

A friend of mine gifted Rocket League to me when I got a new computer a few months ago and it has changed my life forever.

8-bit Armies, aka "Command & Conquer: Minecraft".
Despite its rather autistic visual style*, it has the feel of an old C&C game. Also, sound as well - Frank Klepacki has composed the soundtrack.

*I do like the vehicles and aircraft, though - they resemble their voxel counterparts from Westwood's C&C games.

Replayed Doom 3. The chainsaw itself still remains as an op weapon in some cases against most enemies I faced so far.

1. For all we know, it could of been a follower of the Darkness or a deserter of Septiego who thought maybe handing it to someone else could end it the curse (the latter could be justified since the manual states that you were trained under Septiego).

2. Been a long time and since memories are hazy, I looked it up. You need a "ring of wisdom".

3. Can't tell but the manual states you are the son of a rule from a nearby empire or kingdom.

4. His sword may of been pillaged from a grave robber or something. That or maybe a follower of Lord Myu (original owner of the sword) took it after Myu fell in combat against the forces of the Darkness.

5. Manual stated something about it being a gift to a king that Septiego belonged to before it made its way to you. The intro did show an armored fellow falling and dropping the idol while in a ruin so perhaps the ones that took it was either a possessed looter or a grave robber that wanted to make easy coin. Could of been an agent of the Darkness for all we know.

Dawn of War 2 ( Sue me), full corruption. As with every strategy game I play, tactics sperging ahead. Full corruption is quite different than purity in that you can essentially rely on the Commander and Thaddeus's sheer, overwhelming, melee brute force to carry the day in most situations- though Tarkus and Avitus can be useful to flank and deal with harder targets.

I don't like Cyrus. Regardless of what people say about him being OP, Cyrus is only good when he can find ideal killing conditions to take full advantage of his cloaking abilities and explosives. Davian is incorruptible, so taking him along is pretty much useless, and he leaves you because he's butthurt you chose Khorne over his buttbuddy Emps after you arrive at the Judgement. Jonah, even with the "sorcerer tomes" still doesn't have the specialization to make him stand out.

I always have a few things I'm playing at once, and how it works is I usually get burned out by one thing and move on to another, then another, then repeat.
  • Dark Souls 3 (really regretting doing my first Dex build in the series)
  • GTA 5 (finally got it on PC)
  • Planetside 2 (for reasons)
  • Dungeon Siege (for more reasons)
  • Max Payne (yearly replay on hardest difficulty setting)

Max Payne is awesome game,I really hope theres a reboot or remake with the same gritty noir art style

Right now I'm replaying the Ratchet and Clank series.

The new game based on the movie re-ignited my passion for that series. I might even platinum the games...if I feel like it. If it starts to be more effort than it's worth (i.e: stops being fun to play), I won't bother
