This. Part of it is likely envy, as younger millenials got fucked hard by a train of society fuck ups(2008 crash, wuflu, etc) on top of having to come of age in an era where all the stand out industries are gutted. So the only thing millenials have is/was youth and hope that things will get better while they still have time. Time they are running out of, in a world that seems to refuse to get better.

We were all sold a false bill of goods, its part of the reason why some of the complaints about some Millenials being perpetual children. Why bother when you're going to be denied the same opportunities your elders had. I just hope things get bad enough that we can all come together and do something about it.

There's a lot of overlap between Millenials and Gen Z when it comes to things to complain about TBH. The cultural milieu is sort of the same in regards to consumerism, rampant degens screeching, and having fail parents because it's been one big slide so far with no big cultural shifts to disconnect IMO. The rest is just same as it ever was.

The weirdest thing about zoomers is having a weird, mythologized view of the relatively recent past. At worst it's like 80s retro aesthetic but even gayer than what millennials did, and at best exaggerating the world that was.

I've mentioned this before but they look at some of the more interesting Taco Bell prototypes and McDonald's themed restaurants and assume most of them were like that. Broadly speaking, they act like aliens who have read about humans and their culture, but then have never actually met one.

Yes it was popular with Gen X, especially younger Gen X in the early to mid 90's. But in the 2000's it was in decline and losing popularity. Till all the Zoomers came along and got old enough to consume music.
