Like many people that stayed on the internet for unhealthily long amounts of time, I used to drink the Tumblr Kool-Aid up until a few years ago. I came across a few impassioned debates and thought that they made sense. - yes, trans people should be treated exactly like others, yes, they should have the same rights as everyone else. I remember their movement (or rather, the takeover of the LGBT movement) starting to spike right after the acceptance of gay marriage, probably since the moderate gays had achieved their goal and left the group.

I think that world view started to fall apart with the rise of gender-based ideologues - that we can somehow feel "male" or "female", as well as change the percentage of how much male or female we feel like during the day (genderfluidity). I noticed how a lot of speakers were careful to avoid defining what made men men and women women that didn't heavily involve some emotionally-enmeshed appeals instead of logic-based ones. I noticed the unusually large disproportion between mtfs and ftms. I observed how actual women were being pushed out of their spaces or forced to accept the premise of males posing as females and wholly legitimate, whether it was online (TwoXChromosomes) or in-person (women-only shelters). I've heard emotionally abusive arguments where trannies would yell at people if they didn't see them (the trannies) as their preferred gender instead of their assigned gender. All that talk about "my body, my choice" and "you're born with your sexual orientation and it cannot be changed" ... all leading up to this. It's such a small wonder that there's a larger "TERF" community nowadays than in the years leading up to now.

I think these are the steps that took me from mild tumblr kinnie to kiwifarm's deathsquad crew:

1) Kids who made "Neopronouns". I was liberal enough to do xir but as soon as someone did bunself and zeeself AND DEMANDED to be taken as part of the LGBT, I drew a line.

2) The debate between Truscum and Tucutes. If transgender doesn't require dysphoria, how do trans people get insurance for their hormones and surgeries? If you're lucky, regular insurance might give you a certain amount to spend on over the counter medication in America and then tells you to go fuck youself. Entertaining "tucutes" as "trans" instead of a general androgynous movement was one of many mistakes.

3) What is nonbinary? You ask that and the most solid answer you get is "someone who uses gender neutral pronouns (but does not have to be exclusively gender neutral)." No one realized this made everything open for everyone everywhere, including attention seekers.

4) The more nonbinaries I encountered, the more I sae patterns emerging: younger, anxious, autistic/adhd women who were not traditionally feminine or able to fit in with other women or saw themselves as beneath women ("women can do anything except me for I am worthless therefore not a woman") seemed to be a big category. Younger women who were victims of sexual assault was another strong pattern. Why are these women running from "she"? A lot still dress as women, speak like women, do nerdy womanly hobbies, and even include themselves in women's talks or "happy womans day here's my art! (they/them)". What caused all this?

5) Misogyny from trans women. If you are a woman, why are you shitting on other women for not being as feminine as you? Why is that when your sisters campaign for rights that you refuse to see a set of ovaries like a conservative Christian? Why are you so against pussyhats, which are stupid and tacky, but are an understandable symbol and statement? Why make sisters coping with trauma from make partners have to live with another person who is male to their basic instincts? Why do you have a phantom period? Why do you think chocolate taste so much better on Estrogen? There's so many ridiculous sticking to stereotypes and shitting on women's rights that it is darkly humorous. Fetishist, fetishist, fetishists.

6) Hatred of homosexuals. We come full circle from "you haven't met the right girl, marry this one" to "you haven't met the right boy with a pussy, here have sex with this one in its extra hole". There ain't much you can do to convince me otherwise.

7) Horror. The reason so many people transition is to cure a mental illness or a few without treating it. There are so many men and women choosing to claim they're fixed once on hormones and refusing to address any other issues they had that it genuinely terrifies me as a mental health advocate. Destroying your life for a fetish or tearing relationships down for a cult, or removing body parts to be safe from the male gaze, or any of the myriad of things people try to escape from without realizing it by transitioning. Jesus. There's so many of us who could (or had!) been on the same path, but weren't swept up in time for it. It is heartbreaking and horrifying to comprehend.

Honestly, I want better understanding of trans healthcare for trans individuals as well as support of their rights as individuals. The problem is too many troons coopted it for either escaping themselves, jerking off, manipulating people, or all 3.

I don't know. While I have always been sympathetic to genuine trans people, I also have a major allergy to delusion. Troons are as delusional as it gets, and I have always found it hard on some level to take them seriously.

The breaking point was probably the sense of entitlement so many batty transfags exhibit. I remember a NeoGAF tranny years and years ago who posted an indignant picture of zerself crossing zer arms next to Professor Oak asking, "Are you a boy or a girl?" Many women seem to think that doing normal things or having hobbies makes them masculine these days. Part of it seems to come from the hardcore troon push to bring back hard gender roles. "You're not a tomboy, you're a trans man!" and other insane conclusions troons come to. Autists think womanhood is literally defined by pink sparkles, flowers and high heels, and can't conceive of womanhood as having a womb. Transwomen actively campaign against womanhood being associated with motherhood as well, and we know most troons have literal autism.

Sex abuse victims are especially tragic, there are several de-trans women (ftmtf) who said they only transitioned to get away from the feeling that they were seen as fresh meat by men. I've seen several radfems claim that many women are transitioning to male to simply escape sexism and being sexualized by men. If you're a young woman who's been abused and you don't have anyone to protect you, I can see why this would make sense in a way.
