It kinda does. How many succesful authoritarian states have there been in the long run of human history? They always either dissolve because of internal revolts of the abused classes, bureaucracy, incompetent leadership or a combination thereof. The only one that didn't havr this happen was the Socialist Yugoslavian state since Tito gave a reasonable amount of social and economic freedom to all of the subjects of his state, and even then it fell apart when he died and led to the current Yugoslavian situation of mass ethnic tension, genocidal wars and mass poverty now that no one sane is holding the reins. If your state is doomed to such a fate by the very nature of your government, it failed at securing it's own existence and the prosperity of its people. China is facing a massive demographic crisis becuase of stupid laws Xi Jinping's predecessors put in place and they have yet to solve it despite repealing the One-Child Policy and Xi will die someday soon. At least with America, there's the possibility of reform and fixing it. We've been through times like these bwfore and came out stronger from it. There's no fixing something that's inherently broken.
