Why China is a failed state?

China being authoritarian and unpleasant doesn't make it a failed state unless you start from the premise that it got like that accidentally. I make no defense of many of the Chinese government's actions, and I certainly wouldn't wish to live under it, but you can't say that the Chinese state isn't acting as intended or achieving the aims it's setting out for itself. In purely material terms, it has demonstrably been very successful.
it does you fucking idiot, you are a failure too i hope you understand how unpleasant you are too

The only sensible definition of a failed state is one which lacks a functional government: as in, a government which can neither maintain it's authority, nor protect the interests of the people it is meant to serve. China may be an authoritarian dictatorship, but it is not failing to act as it intends to, and is thus not a failed state. If anything, the Chinese government is probably more successfully achieving it's aims than most Western governments are currently.
a government is supposed to ACT OF THE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE, a tyrannical countries should be preserved as ultimate failure

They are a failure and their country operate on scams, it's a failed state just like india
You're a seething pilipino or malay seanigger. China is not a failed state but a shit country to live. Failed states are defined simply through anarchy and lawlessness, it cannot be the same to a dystopian shithole full of surveillance devices everywhere.

I hate chinks but you're retarded and wrong about declaring it as a failed state. Chink police is still operating and beating and policing the shit out of someone with low social credit points everyday, something Haiti (known example of a failed state) not doing a simple policing against the gangs. Yes you're right about the humans rights violations but China isn't in anarchy and total government collapse (hopefully it will happen) that fits the criteria, therefore not a failed state because they are still controlling everyone and stealing shit.
failed state, a state that is unable to perform the two fundamental functions of the sovereign nation-state in the modern world system: it cannot project authority over its territory and peoples, and it cannot protect its national boundaries. The governing capacity of a failed state is attenuated such that it is unable to fulfill the administrative and organizational tasks required to control people and resources and can provide only minimal public services. Its citizens no longer believe that their government is legitimate, and the state becomes illegitimate in the eyes of the international community.

It kinda does. How many succesful authoritarian states have there been in the long run of human history? They always either dissolve because of internal revolts of the abused classes, bureaucracy, incompetent leadership or a combination thereof. The only one that didn't havr this happen was the Socialist Yugoslavian state since Tito gave a reasonable amount of social and economic freedom to all of the subjects of his state, and even then it fell apart when he died and led to the current Yugoslavian situation of mass ethnic tension, genocidal wars and mass poverty now that no one sane is holding the reins. If your state is doomed to such a fate by the very nature of your government, it failed at securing it's own existence and the prosperity of its people. China is facing a massive demographic crisis becuase of stupid laws Xi Jinping's predecessors put in place and they have yet to solve it despite repealing the One-Child Policy and Xi will die someday soon. At least with America, there's the possibility of reform and fixing it. We've been through times like these bwfore and came out stronger from it. There's no fixing something that's inherently broken.

I think if you studied the subject, you'd find that most states throughout history have been authoritarian, and many of them were highly successful. The Roman Empire lasted for 500 years, while it's eastern Byzantine successor hung on for another millennium after that. The Ottoman Empire which eventually took the place of the Byzantines lasted for around 600 years, while the various absolute monarchies which dominated Europe at the time primarily started during the Early Middle Ages and didn't begin to close up shop until well after the dawn of the industrial revolution.

Modern concepts of freedom and individual rights, however positive they may be for the societies which embody them, are by no means the historical default. While there are undoubtedly many advantages to living in a society which upholds those things, defending these concepts on the basis of the longevity of said societies is probably the weakest argument you could pick, because the first nation to properly codify them isn't even 250 years old. The British Empire lasted longer than that.

Besides, whether or not China is likely to fail in the future has no bearing on whether or not it is a failed state today, which is what we're debating. Does China have demographic problems? Yes. Is this likely to impede their economic outlook in the near-term relative to that of the West? No, especially since most Western countries have similar demographic problems, and a typically higher median age. Does China being a dictatorship make it difficult to reform? I'd say yes and no. The lack of democracy removes an incentive to be actively responsive to the needs of the people, but the centralized nature of the authority does sometimes allow for the kind of decisive top-down change which would be much more difficult to implement in the West. Is China failing to secure prosperity for it's people? Clearly not. In a bad year, China's economy grows about twice as fast as the US economy does, and that's despite China being a communist dictatorship.

If present-day China qualifies as a failed state, then I'm not sure what definition you're using.
