Chris could never attend a convention. There was never sufficient interest, even at the height of his notoriety.
The only way it would work is if he appeared in a large city that had a sizable amount of trolls, as they are the only ones who would know who he is and/or care enough to attend.
I have to echo the previous poster who said the only value would be in his original works. I could legitimately see an entire issue of Sonichu selling for $50-250 each (likely the lower end), but it would only be to trolls. Certain special images might go for more. If he did new works that were of a highly controversial nature, those could perhaps sell--again, only to trolls--but just random nonsense about Sonichu? I could not see those going for much.
I've seen things from very old African-American ladies who painted like children, and their naivete and charm in their art work was a large part of the appeal. He does have that very childlike quality, but he is often goes towards bizarre and dark subject matter. The biggest problem though is that he draws crayons as comic book pages, with captions, etc.. If he had done some of his works in the exact same style, but as paintings, not comics, with no captions, I could see the appeal being much higher--to legitimate art collectors, that is. On the other hand, a lot of his work would lose their depth and poignancy if you were to take away the text. But even still, there would be certain images that could work. That's all hypothetical of course. The reality is he has poorly drawn images that represent a comic book. Art collectors cannot hang that on their wall in a frame.
