Worst RPG members ever

Just remembered a few others.
Regal in Tales of Symphonia
Karol in Tales of Vesperia
Sarah, Meracle, and Limmel from Star Ocean TLH
Rinka in Fire Emblem...good god

Well to be honest, Alya is really good just as an attacker, in the DS version I had Chrono/Ayla/Frog as my ultimate party because Chrono gets the upgraded Counter attack Accessory..Ayla gets the Crit rate/counter attack thing and Frog gets the upgraded Hero's Badge and unleash hell upon your foes.

Honestly ..Chrono Trigger has some real bad design issues especially in the DS version when you get upgraded versions of the broken shite. Chrono countering 75% of the time with a 90% chance of crit is outrageous given how many "Non damaging roars" are counted as physical attacks including the Final Bosses scream.
Crono/Ayla/Frog is the standard endgame team.
Also, you didn’t even mention the most broken thing in the DS version, Robo’s Apocalypse Arm. With just 3 crits, Robo can get rid of the vast majority of the superboss’ HP.

Eiko in FF9. She's a white mage and summoner just like Dagger, did we really need two? She's incredibly annoying in the story. And her outfit is terrible and makes me think the designer was a pedo.

Edit: Amarant sucks too. So much that I almost forgot he existed. You get him super late in the game, he's pretty useless and he looks stupid.
You’re pretty much intentionally handicapping yourself in FFIX if your team isn’t Zidane, Garnet/Dagger, Vivi, and Quina.

About a third of the recruitable party members in Chrono Cross.
Your being way too generous on that number I would say 4/5th are absolute useless. I mean you got Serge and Glenn being the Powerhouses and if you want more Physical can get Grobyc and you got Kid and Fargo for stealing. Magic wise you got Leena, Guile, Miki and Riddel could make an argument for Razzy but not a fan of doubling up Greens.

The difference between the two is Eiko's summons are based more around utility rather than elemental damage like Dagger's summons. (With a couple exceptions).

What I find kind of interesting about Amarant is that despite his initial personality and his desire to prove how strong he is, his mechanics are based more around support and helping the team. Which correlates with his character arc.

Anyway, Chie from Persona 4 comes to mind. I don't recall her being bad per say, but in terms of general physical damage she gets outclassed pretty quickly by Kanji. And seeing as how the MC can use any type of Persona, you don't really need to use her Ice magic all that much.

I really only used her because I liked having all my party members around the same level in RPG's with a few exceptions.

Eiko also had a larger White spell repertoire than Dagger but Dagger had twice the number of summons that Eiko did.

I don't think Robo can equip the Counter attack/Crit Rate Trinket can he? I think that is an Alya only item.

She doesnt even learn anything above Bufula, but that's all you need to get a down for an All Out Attack. Other than that, Revolution to fish for crits

It's probably an apt comparison to call her Physical Naoto, in how she dominates normal enemies but cant use these strategies in boss fights. The one advantage she has is that her Power Charge+God Hand is better for bosses than Naoto's Mind Charge+Megidolaon

A third? That's being generous. You could snip out 25 or 30 of those awful characters and it would improve the game immensely.

That said, Guile is still the worst. When I played the game for the first time, I was almost completely blind. I got up to him and said 'holy shit it's MAGUS hell yes', and kept him as a mainstay for most of the game. Got to the end and said 'wait, Magus doesn't get anything special? I must have missed something' and looked up a guide and nope, didn't miss anything. As far as Chrono Cross is concerned, Guile is just some random magician who looks like Magus in a fruity suit with a funny mask. Fuck off forever, Guile. I should have gone with Pierre.

The worst starter pokemon each gen

Charmander, chikorita, treeco(hurts to say), turtwig(hurts), samurott, chespin, popplio, sobble.

I hated Frea from Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC. She kept breaking my stealth, shouting and running into battle whenever I was sneaking.

I didn't hate James Vega in Mass Effect 3, but there were so many better characters that could've been on the Normandy instead. The Virmire survivor (Ashley/Kaidan), Grunt, Miranda, or Jack would have been a much better choicr imho.

In Cyberpunk, there are a couple of missions with Rogue. She kept yelling out quips while I was stealthing. It didn't break our cover, but it broke my immersion.

FF7: Cait Sith. Joins late, middling stats, aggravating limit breaks and overall annoying personality.

FF9: Amarant for his supbar stats and abilities.

FF10: Early game Kimahri for his stat spread. Late game Auron because the bitch can't deal max damage at full health with his ultimate weapon, making him a weaker physical attacker than Yuna or Lulu.

Persona 3: Ken, fuck this snot nosed brat. Average stats and almost useless spells against bosses. Koromaru is at least agile and helps you pick up chicks (or guys if you're playing p3p).

P4: Teddie. Fuck mascot characters and he doesn't bring any amazing abilities to the table. And. His. Voice. Regardless of dub.

P5: Morgana. Again, fuck mascot characters. Supbar stats except for his agility, his exclusive armor is the worst in game. Seriously, it's beneficial to drop him from your active party as soon as you get Yusuke, who's fast and hits like a truck. After you get Makoto, Morgana will never leave the sidelines as the Queen overshadows the cat in every single category.

Fire Emblem: Awakening: Kellam. He's not really THAT bad statwise, but his personality is so goddamn aggravating that I start taking the "unseen Kellam" joke seriously. He's also the one character that I'm willing to sacrifice in order to make my Lunatic+ early game hell a bit easier.

Phoenix Point: Every single class except for snipers. The game has one of the most retarded ways of strenghtening endgame enemies, giving them a ton of armor meaning most units can't even scratch the weakest of enemies.

Kingdom Hearts series: Every single party member. Seriously Goofy stop pushing enemies away from my combos!!

Ajantis. In a game of one-dimensional party members he is the most one-dimensional, stereotypical paladin ever-he has no personality and he picks fights with any evil party members. It sucks because he has decent stats and can be acquired relatively early on.

Khalid is just the fucking worst, though. He's the "lovable" coward character (i.e. annoying bitch), but his stats make it seem like he's supposed to be a half-decent tank, which is negated by the fact that he runs away unless you have a bard on his ass. It can be argued that he's better for archery, but he has 15 dex and there's a million better archers. He's borderline useless, but the shittiest part is that he's in a pair with Jaheira, a decent party member who carries over into BG2, so if you want her you have to have him in your party; not only that, he's one of the only good-aligned party members who can tank shit real early on, and the game actually encourages you to have him and jaheira. Meeting up with them is the first quest. Hell, he's canonically one of your party members. Fuck khalid, man.

FF VII Cait Sith is absolutely useless.
Bad stats, doesn't have the saving grace of long range like Yuffie, and his limit breaks are absolute dogshit. He seems like an afterthought, both in mechanics and story relevance.
Sharla in Xenoblade Chronicles has the weakest characterization, a negative talent art, and a pure healer in a game that pushes you to deal as much DPS as you can.
Pretty much every non royal in Fates is bad, just don't play that shitty game.
I never used Magilou in Tales of Berseria because fuck her, she's annoying and fucks you over plenty of times.
Karol in Tales of Vesperia is just too slow and doesn't have good physical arts like Yuri and Judith, and his support arts are inferior to Estelle's. Also, his voice is annoying.
Pretty much every companion from Bethesda's Fallout games.
Kihmari is absolute trash too

Jaheira's... OK in BG1 but I found it pretty easy to ditch her and Khalid once I got Yeslick or Viconia. It's even EASIER if you make MC a Cleric or Cleric multi.

In BG TuTu both Jaheira and Khalid are improved somewhat, but are still pretty damned optional. One of my bigger issues with Jaheira is that despite Khalid being NG she's TN and will get bitchy if your rep hits 18+, which doesn't even make sense because she's a fucking Harper but whatever it's a conceit of Druids being forced into TN.

Ajantis is a pain in the ass but he's pretty useful. Keldorn in BG2 is way worse about starting shit with non-good party members, god help you if you have Viconia.
