I've always found this argument a little odd. Never mind that it's putting a lot of emphasis on American culture (is a Eurofag really going to remember 9/11 like an American would?), but someone born in '93 might not remember 9/11 because they didn't watch it live or didn't understand what was happening. I have plenty of friends who claim to not remember anything of substance before 3rd grade. If you can remember 9/11 you’re not a zoomer, you’re a late Millennial
This. It's unlikely that all zoomers are retarded. There's much better ways to filter out people than age. Plenty of people my age are absolute fucking dumbasses who rely on magical thinking or have victim complexes just as much as any little zoom zoom might.Sounds like you’re the one creating a toxic work environment.
Plus you’re discriminating against people due to their age, which is illegal in most countries.
Lastly, there’s been a huge shift in people’s opinions of work within the last 2 years. It’s not just zoomers who are being “difficult” for employers. Its all working ppl. Everyone I currently know has either retired early or quit their job. They’re all now pursuing either new career paths, personal goals, or starting up some business venture (or trying to become streamers/you tubers lol).
If anything, people have finally realized it’s not the employee whose replaceable. the employer is replaceable.
employers did this to themselves by progressively creating worse and worse work environments and culture. Now ppl are tired of it and realizing they can do better
I would say Generation X is probably complaining more about zoomers than millennials are. But it's fairly irrelevant. Point is obviously separating the threads by generation would equate to complete idiocrasy for a multitude of reasons that would take too long for me to write. The way I see it, a unique board just for zoomers sounds like incessant millennial bitching,
was being a whiny cunt thrust upon you too or did you bring that all on your ownI would like to talk to other staff before I get too much into this as it ultimately is in no way my decision. I didn't even ask for mod and don't real want it still but in some way it is my just punishment for stirring shit lol. But I would like to see the forum repurposed in some way. I'll leave it at that for now.
It's kind of like basing your entire opinion on millennials off of Chris Chan. Millennials certainly have their own special set of fuck ups (Pretty much like every generation), but Chris is a special variety of fuckness, not the norm.I don't think ILJ's issues are particularly tied to her zoomerdom. Yes, she's a fucked-up degenerate /b/tarded edgelord, but those have existed for years and the fact that a new generation is still getting into this shit is not particularly noteworthy.
Zoomers have their own distinctive fucked-upness that's already been documented all over the place, but if anything ILJ is distinctive in that she doesn't really exhibit much of this and is clearly rebelling against it.
Never expected to see mommyjacking on Kiwifarms of all places...I birthed two zoomers and will criticize that utterly reprobate generation whenever I please. Next suggestion.
Researchgate is always paywalled bro... do betterJonathan Zittrain's The Future of the Internet and How to Stop It is now thirteen years old. I recommend it to everyone and anyone with an interest in the architecture of the user experience of the internet. He was also frighteningly prescient in much of what he had to say about the walled garden effect of apps and sites-as-services.
He made it available for free; you can grab a PDF here https://www.researchgate.net/publication/46889025_The_Future_of_the_Internet_and_How_to_Stop_It
Consider employing a danger haired perpetually depressed "person" who thinks they deserve everything. Or a person who is thankful for thier apprenticeship who works hard knowing in 3 years they will be in a far better position than when they started.
I'd choose the second one and remove the first as soon as possible as they are toxic in a work environment
I’m either a baby Gen X or ancient Millennial depending on where you argue they end/begin and this was true of being a teenager or young adult in the late 90’s or early 2000’s as well.As a younin, I had to hide my internet activity from people I knew. Most of us did. We found little communities like /b/ or now the farms. I NEVER met anyone who understood or would partake in my trolling endeavors or general internet shenanigans irl. If I went to a university back in 2009 and tried to start a group IRL with local kids. Chances are, they wouldn't be cool with videos starring a man and a broken jar, or laughing at cows, or watching gore videos. I would be labeled and treated as a pariah. That's how it should be.
Interesting choice of name. Why don't you take a seat over there, buddy?Maybe it's time for a new zoomer sub-forum , call it "kiddie pool" or some shit
