Xbox Game Studios Stupidity Hate Thread Game Pass Edition

If Microsoft leaves the industry, Sony will be in more trouble than they are now. They're only seen as relatively better than Microsoft, but Sony themselves are worse than they've ever been.

Fanboy list wars from this gen are a shocking indictment of how few games have released on each platform.

If Xbox goes, PC gains a big chunk of new or returning gamers, which will force Sony to launch more games on PC, making owning a PS5 even more pointless, forcing more people to PC, rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately I think the only thing Microsoft hasn't fucked up in the past decade has been Forza. So the outlook is grim.
about that...

nah, there will always be a large amount of niggercattle where a pc is "too complicated" or "too ugly" or has "no brand".
consumers are hardly rational, otherwise apple wouldn't be a trillion-dollar company, but here we are.

in the end it's much more likely that sony will still be able to make money, or more than microsoft. sometimes the pond is too small for two big fish.

The way Xbox has been conducting in this generation has been pathetic. They've given up even though they had a perfect opportunity to beat Playstation this time. It literally had no games!
It's weird that people still think Sony isn't losing their ass with the PS5 and it's overpriced slop games just as much as Xbox is.

The console space in general is in shambles.
No, Sony are winning.

Who would win: Two gaming supercomputers designed by titans of the computing industry, or a seven year-old smartphone made by a toy company?

PS2 being the top selling console of all times applied to Sony's console THEN, not NOW. Also, a console from 2017 is selling more than the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X combined. Try again.
I was referring to the PlayStation 5 and only the PlayStation 5 with that post which has surpassed 50 million sold consoles.

I agree that PC will never appeal to niggercattle and the phone will always win. However, we are seeing a generation of people who are too tech illiterate to do anything that isn't apps on a phone.
Soon, and I think it may already be upon us, the gamers of that generation will find consoles too complicated and will settle for phone-only dopamine hits.

Sony may be able to make money, but it's a shadow and a fraction of what they used to. The pond is getting smaller and may not be small for even one big fish.

Which is terrible, 3 years into a generation, with dedicated hardware and their competition shitting the bed. The PS4 had sold as much, if not more, 3 years into the gen, as a console built on a shoe-string, with the parent company hemorraging money, with the gaming media slandering the PS4 at every turn, while defending and championing a literal spy device.

Sony are unable to sweep up the console industry to such a degree that they're throwing some of their biggest IPs onto PC as a way of recouping money.

We have had 70 million console sales this generation, when the previous generations, not including the handhelds, knocked up 260 million (pswii60 gen) and 150 million sales (PS4 xbone gen). Only the Switch, a handheld, is selling as well as previous gens of handhelds (PSP, NDS and N3DS).

The console market is fucked and Sony are not in a good position. Naughty Dog haven't released a single game this gen. What are Sony studios doing? Nothing. Just like Microsofts studios did last gen and we're watching a live-feed of how that is turning out.

Despite everyone sperging out about Xbox supposedly "dying" next week I've been thinking about picking up a Series X since I should be getting my big PTO payout with my check next week. I can't really say that I'm interested in any new Xbox games coming out but I'm pretty interested in trying out Game Pass and that Goldeneye remaster is right up my ally.

If you just want to check out Game Pass, buy a month and try XCloud. It works well enough, and you may be happy enough with it to not need the console. Whatever you do dont buy one at full price, they were on sale around $350 during the holidays.

From my experience, wired connection, xCloud has latency and long queue times to get INTO a game.

And it's still fucking stupid. When are you people going to understand that selling the most consoles doesn't mean it's profitable when they are sold at a loss?

The money comes from the games, and Sony's games are also failing to make the money they once did. There was a whole Insomniac leak not too long ago showing just how unsustainable their current model is with how much is being spent on video game production.

That PirateSoftware guy on Youtube talked about this.

The queues were pretty bad when Starfield released (30 minutes), now its about 5 minutes which isnt terrible, but they havnt fixed it in months.

Latency wise I havnt had an issue (with the kinds of games I pick to play) but I have really good speeds, I think that part varies extremely per person.

Imagine paying for a service where you still have to wait 5 minutes to get into a laggy game AND THEN defend it as "isn't terrible". :story::story:

We deserve the industry we have.
Not defending it, its not terrible compared to the 30 minutes it was before.

It is terrible compared to 2022, where it was instant, they slacked on the infrastructure and it shows. Starfield stressed whatever Azure servers are hosting XCloud and it still hasnt recovered.

My point was that if @Broseph wanted to try gamepass, dont buy a $500 system that wont even sell physical media in the future to play. Get a gamepass month/trial and just see if that works good enough.

The Sony faggots don't seem to understand that the reason why the PS5 is outselling the Xbox Series X is because the PS5 is only a marginally less shitty console than the Series X. Sony fags don't want to accept that they're never getting another PS2.

ony fags don't want to accept that they're never getting another PS2.
they were the only game in town, dreamworks had its problems. xbox took awhile before halo took off, and gamecube was obviously lower powered and focused on a different market. honestly the way xbox has fucked up post-360 they're clearly going to be the worse competitor compared to sony. they'll still be the dominant console a decade from now. the 360 was a genuine fluke. the playstation has mostly been the dominant console. nintendo went all in on the kid/casual demo.

Tell me you were born in the 2000's without telling me.
you're really going to try to say the console with the minidisks and obvious cut corners on so many of their fucking games and way fewer ports because companies didn't want to attempt to fit their games on such a shitty console wasn't low powered compared to the xbox or ps2?

It got to the point where even licensed movie tie in games were much better on the ps2 vs gamecube.

I'm going to say it because it's an objective truth.

Gamecube was a more powerful console than the PS2. I get you're probably like 16 and grew up on the PS4, but believe it or not being the most powerful console doesn't make you the best.
