I have been lessening my relience on YouTube for music. It's easy once you realize almost every song is available on other websites. I think Spotify sucks, but at least they provide a backup for the time being until I can afford to buy all my favorites on CD.

I sometimes use Khinsider for vidya music, though the whole "sign in to prove you aren't a bot" stuff seems to go away after I reload the page a couple times.

Thank God for YT-DLP, ReVanced, and YTDLnis. I try my best to advocate for these solutions to friends and family, but they insist that they could never do it, and that I'm somehow just way too smart because I can Google something. I'll hear my roommates listening to advertisements occasionally and it makes me want to break their TV's.

A month? Insane price for watching youtube.
I haven't seen even one ad since the 'war' on adblock started. Adblock guys do wonderful job. Maybe they killed adblock on chrome which is probably one of the more popular browsers.. Google is even advertising chrome on TV.

Its mainly a chrome thing I believe. On Firefox I haven't had a single ad since 2009

The vpn trick should still work but the key is to use a “residential VPN”.

It should bypass the “we cannot verify your location” error that pops up using traditional VPNs.

Also people have had luck making an Apple ID in another region, say, Turkey, then buying iTunes cards in a digital form, then downloading the YouTube app and paying for the premium sub that way.

All info for those with families with family plans on tim cook pedo faggot locked down apple devices, like Apple TV’s iPads iPhones

The subscription shown in the article (Reddit screenshot) is done through Apple. Should be noted that Google up-charges subscriptions through Apple due to the payment processing fee. I’m not sure if it’s the 30% figure the app store uses but it was over $20 while the regular was around $15 the last time I checked.

If they are really trending price hikes to stay afloat long term, people will either not use the platform or like many people have said competition will take their place, edge them out, or cause even worse example setting.
