Checked out a video of his & I had to close it after a few minutes because he kept shouting. Constant shouting is also what turned me away from Markiplier. I get that it's to appeal to the younger crowd, but is it really worth alienating the older viewers for?

Pretty much. It is distressing to say the least. I believe that their needs to be a barrier between internet and irl personally, which is probably why I have a hard time finding content to watch now as that barrier is becoming less of a thing. Nowadays, a lot of new creators don’t have talent, people just come for the chat to clown on them or something, but it lacks any humor or interesting material. I think VTuber Zen is the worst in this regard as there is nothing entertaining about her text to speech streams yet people are so admit on them being great because chat owns her lol. Justaminx also falls into this category.
It can also wind up biting other, better creators in the ass. Some examples I can think of include complaints I've heard about Vinesauce/Vinesauce-adjacent streamers playing along with the weird tranny shit that some of the more vocal fans push, the whole Jerma catboy meme, Vinny's art corners and some of the weird art featured, etc. There's also some recent drama involving a French Vtuber, Saruei I think, and her basically being raked over the coals for rejecting an artist for a fan art contest and being pressured into apologizing. I hate Vtubers, but I still feel bad when they get fucked over for silly reasons like that.
This stuff seems super prevalent in the VTuber community, which has really made VTubers harder to watch compared to before. It feels like the audiences believe they own the person. Unpopular opinion, but I like Mori the most out of Hololive, but the amount of shit she gets for literal nothingburgers is huge. She couldn’t be friends with CDawg because he dissed Hololive, getting fans to spaz out. Then you also have the randos trying to pull out Tweets from years ago to cancel her because … .
Never got the appeal of Vshojo. Nyanners is the only one that seems to have any humor, and that mainly derives from her being crazy as shit. As for the other members:

I am going to be honest, I never cared for Nux. I saw a few of his vids prior to the drama and he always annoyed the shit out of me. He just seemed like a loud anti-SJW that huffed his own farts and deliberately places himself into the center of controversy. I think my general annoyance with Nux maybe plays into why I cannot view it as a big deal, as he just seems like someone who thrives on this shit. I guess I really hold no one at VShojo accountable on this one. For me, it was watching a ton of content creators I had no interest in/hated going at it with each other. The most bs thing to me was Mouse getting a pass on this thanks to her fans screaming about her condition making her unable to think.
Yeah, Mr Fringe introduced me to LTT about 3 years ago when I was looking into a new laptop. I was ambivalent to his content before, loathed his thumbnails and hated his endless LOL water bottle advert gag inserts. With his new house stuff I really find him insufferable and I suffer through the WAN show if Mr Fringe is watching it. He employs a lot of people and must know what he's doing to some degree but he's become a very slimy individual in my Luddite opinion.
