Judges/DAs hate wasting money on trials, especially slam-dunk cases like BA’s. They already offered BA the sweetest deal possible. 2 days County Jail. The day begins at midnight so if you surrendered yourself at 5 pm, by the time you’d been processed in it would be past midnight and theyd start processing you out. He’d have spent 1 night in jail, tops. Instead, he refused the deal and insisted on trial and I’ll bet the Judge punishes BA for that by sentencing him to at least a month or so of County time plus some probation. If he gets a month, he’ll probably only do 2 weeks anyway. County Jails in urban areas usually give 2-for-1 credit and if he makes trustee he could get 3-for-1.
