I find his videos almost motion sickness inducing. The crazy over-the-top editing for what might otherwise be a fun story really kills it for me. You couldn't pay me enough to tune in to his streams. Is there any kind of info there that is leading to a potential troon out? His twitter looks kind of dead right now.

People were doing this type of autistic speculation back when he first saw ShB and he outright said this turned him off of playing the game, it is the unfortunate situation of being a popular streamer within the MMO space.

More or less yes he was, the primary difference I'd say is the videos and reactions to each got longer over the last year or so and he likes doing multiple long videos back to back. Asmongold is a very stubborn person who enjoys doing his own thing and he has a community big enough to support his random tangents so he has no reason to stop. He effectively uses his stream to be social and espouse his personal opinions to the world. Where most people use Twitter for this crap, Asmongold 90% of the time uses his own stream to do that. He'll watch politics, he'll discuss the news, he'll watch stuff like Johnny Depp the entire way. If he has an interest in observing or talking about something, he'll do it on stream. This has been him for literal years.

He's okay as far as reaction content goes (really low bar tbh), because he at least tries to talk about shit as opposed to just staring blankly at a screen making nothing commentary as the video plays, but if you don't care about listening to a balding texan who's overall is only slightly right/left leaning politically or is even a full blown centrist depending on the day. I'll take Asmonbald over Rich "Stalling" Campbell, Asmongold makes it obvious when he is going to stall and you can just tune out safely for awhile, Rich will stall at fucking random to talk about some random shit on twitter or have a random as fuck dance party for the next 40 minutes. It is like watching someone play the MSQ while playing stop and go for hours straight.

I'll never complain about any other streamer playing FFXIV after watching Rich play, literally the worst I've ever seen.

I am a loser who likes the react content because it exposes me to videos I would never have seen otherwise. Youtube only, so I guess the intro sperging doesn't bother me and I just skip over the videos I don't give a shit about.

I don't like watching the FFXIV content because I play the game myself so there is literally nothing to gain.

I will never get why people get so excited that an e-celeb (who seems like an insufferable cunt by the day) plays X popular game. This Asmonbald thing just baffles me, man.

It's validation for XIV fans when big huge WoW streamer goes and plays their game and has the fucking producer sit down and have a chat with him.

It's validation for folks who are burnt out on WoW when their lord-regent ends up jumping ship.

Folks want confirmation that what they're doing is the 'cool' thing or whatever. I remember doing that shit when I was a dumbfuck teenager.

Expensive ass mounts and stuff in the cash shop is nothing really new. I'm more disappointed the newest outfit is not only 22 dollars but its not account wide either. If I'm gonna pay 22 dollars I expect to be able to have all my character dress like Vanilla Ice.

Lost Ark from what I recall was even worse, because people basically called Asmon a principleless shill (boy they should have waited for Diablo Immortal for that one) for supporting a p2w KR MMO grind fest like Lost Ark. His reddit jannies effectively banned discussion on that pretty quick on his subreddit, and it started many a slap fight on stream from what I recall.

If I had to guess Asmongold came into FFXIV with pretty much the assumption that it is a cult full of retarded manchildren who screee and reeeee at you for whatever they feel like so he already came into this with a fairly bad attitude, which you'd be right. WoW has that too, but Asmongold is very admittedly a simp for WoW so he ignores that there. This is paired with the bet drama, weird people shipping him with Zepla which made him uncomfortable, his subreddit being invested with "14 good WoW bad" garbage, and all kinds of other bullshit that is more unique to FFXIV then other game's he's played (besides the shill saga with Lost Ark which was its own storm).

I don't think he is purely here for content though, the man can play literally anything and get views out the ass and he missed the boat months ago during 14's high to play Lost Ark. Plus he has so much money that he's outright said he streams because its fun for him, he could stop everything today and be fine for his entire life with how he lives like trailer park white trash.

That's partly my point too though. I don't think he'd skip playing WoW for a year with Dragonflight in the same way he skipped out on XIV. If I really liked a game, I don't think I'd do that. If I didn't really care about a game, I might do that and save it for a lull in content.
He might stream for fun rather than necessity, but I wouldn't mistake that for him not taking it seriously either.

The "main" way people watch XIV steams is by basically treating it a like a "react" stream. You're watching someone, essentially, watch something you've already watched but it's the first time for them.

So whenever someone brand new is starting up, it tends to generate a bunch of hype. Also the XIV folks would like XIV to be a "big" stream game, despite the fact it likely never will.

Data + full models for the new cash shop mount and glamour's actually been in the game for months now.

Friend of mine who previewed the glamour for me well ahead of time was speculating it would be tied to the new summer event, but, unfortunately, this doesn't look to be the case.

you maybe mistaking this set with this one which will be coming out soon with the summer event. it does suck the game was forced to have a cash shop and most of the money that comes form it is used on bad fucking marvel games. its the price we sadly have to pay for an okay game.
