Saints Row thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

It’s almost insulting that out of all the ATCQ songs the devs could have chosen, they chose this one only because they think the song is just about being lost in a desert because you lost your wallet.

In a game where you still have no clue as to what this has to do with waffle makers and student loans.

This is the only time I've ever seen laugh tracks actually making something better. I literally can't watch the original cutscenes now without having TBBT without laugh track vibes.
You know Saints Row reboot is bad when The Big Bang Theory manages to have more likeable characters.

I remember seeing somewhere that the ped interactions was one of the things that they were able to achieve on the newer engine of Saints Row 2.
Meanwhile, in the reboot, all the AI does is walk, fight and drive.

The bad guy was pretty cool for the most part just wanting to murder more and do stabbings up until the end when he's just trying to not do that but instead be friends with the three most bland yet somehow annoying people in the universe. Had he just kept to the murdering that would've been a mostly decent actual Saints Row character. The costume he wears is pretty good and distinct, flesh out his backstory some, you're golden.

Some people might look at this and be like "Big deal, they're just cuddling.. I don't see the point.." and they're right, there is no point. In Saints Row 1 if the peds got this close, they'd both fly off in different directions. GTA doesn't have peds cuddling like this, you get two of them this close and they'll likely just start beating each other.

But that's the thing that makes this special, it's the small little touches like this that make the game more believable and enjoyable.
I'm having a hard time remembering any games that do that now. Just random moments of AI spending time together. It's almost always scripted.

Steve Urkel could beat the shit out of Eli.
Seriously. I know I keep calling the wuss Steve Urkel II, but even Urkel would stuff him into a locker for wearing those clothes.

Sad thing is, he's small potatoes compared to the shirtless douchebag. What kind of stunted shithead would kill for a happy meal toy?

And at least Hunt Down the Freeman will always be an unironic masterpiece. Saints Row 2022 isn't even close to it. Not even by a long shot.
I saw that the former dev team is trying to fix hunt down the freeman, as they are now free from Berkan involment (they are still angry that they did not get paid)
the game looks better (not that good, but way better)

The same kind of faggot that gets an entire sleeve of waffle tattoos. I honestly think he was intended to be autistic.

I assume that pistol duel glitch is pretty common, and I confess I love it.

"Just you 'n me, hombre. Pistols at noon. Now... Draw!"

Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for?Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for? Who was this made for?

This single thought keeps racing in my mind as I read this thread.
The devs.

I would say games journalists, but even they didn't like it.
When even gaming journalists who are paid to say positive things about the likes of Last of Us Part II or Shadow of the Tomb Raider among other things, yet turn around and shit on Saints Row 2022, you knew fully well that you dun goof'd.

I haven't played the reboot (nor do I intend to) so I'll turn to those who have with this particular question: is it explained at any point in the game why the main cast is in the desert? I ask because it doesn't seem like the kind of setting you'd place these type of characters without some sort of justification for it within the story itself.
