I don't think its ever just one peak. I suppose "peak trans" is like when people hit the point where they finally go "Okay, fuck these people", but I feel like its more a mountain range. Each peak higher than the last. And even before then, the foothills that send you on the path.
Probably the earliest is when a real life friend transed and I was chatting to an online buddy and he basically asked me something genuinely innocent on his part I think. He asked basically how do you know you're trans? And I kinda couldn't give a solid answer beyond vagueness.
Then it was Tumblr shit, like "genderfluid" "non-binary" etc. I never bought into it and it just felt so stupid, like people trying to feel unique (which it was).
Then stuff like the North Carolina bathroom bill and the reaction to it. Even though I still wasn't gender crit/TERF mode, I took notice in the entirely disproportionate reaction from the media and from celebrities about this shit. And any time people with money react so strongly, I get suspicious.
Then, a big one, was them reacting to a benign statement from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Basically, she said that women are women and trans women are trans women, because they don't experience the same things. Such as trans women are socialized male and are literally outwardly male in every single way in the first half of their lives, even if they "feel" female. Male and female children are treated differently based on gender role-related expectations.

Even if you argue that certain traits are inherent in males/females and aren't socialized into them, then those traits are still expected and encouraged in children.

So if you're a tranny, you've been raised for a significant portion of your life to behave in a certain way relating to your birth sex/gender. You can't undo years of conditioning in a short time, so the tranny will still hold certain subconscious thoughts and behavior patterns because that was what was reinforced in them for years.

For example: let us assume that males are expected to be more confrontational, assertive, and take leadership. Male children will be encouraged to show these traits and they will be expected to behave this way.
Let's conversely assume that females are expected to be accommodating, submissive, and go along with things rather than take leadership. Female children will be encouraged to show these traits and behave this way.

Now we put "Sapphire" the penised transwoman in with a group of ciswomen. Sapphire will have been raised as Steve for years and will naturally have started to behave in a "male" way. Even if Sapphire "felt like a girl," they were raised as a boy. So Sapphire will be more comfortable being confrontational and assertive since they were raised with positive enforcement for those traits.

Could this be the reason why transwomen feel the need to insert themselves into every single woman-only space and co-opt all women-only language? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Pro-trans people hate this point because they seem to assume that all of that social conditioning is immediately erased as soon as Sapphire puts on a dress.

The basic issue is that BUT YOU CAN'T CHANGE BIOLOGICAL SEX is ultimately not a super convincing argument against social / legal recognition.

So, some people argue that because TiM's were not raised/socialized as women, they can never truly be women in some sort of social sense, and therefore should not be recognized as such in a legal sense. You could call this the "nurture" argument.

It is possible to challenge this by bringing up all kinds of what-if's and special cases. What if we trans infants straight from the womb, for example? What about genuine intersex people? etc. etc.

Another line of argument would be to go back to biology and argue women and men are socially just too different by nature.

This makes some people queasy, and it can also be challenged quite easily. What about passing trans people? And again, what about genuine intersex people? etc. etc.

This (to ONLY consider grey-area & outlier cases and pursue perfect internal consistency) is of course an extremely autistic way to think about complex social issues. It is possible to take a more holistic approach and argue a wider social point while admitting there are difficult questions without clear answers.

Don’t know why I didn’t fall into the nonbinary cope, but part of it is probably because that’s what’s “in” right now and identifying as a wahmen is, paradoxically, more counterculture.

I peaked once I saw how people in similar situations to me bought into the idea that liking boy things and hating your body = you’re trans, and at the time I already had the gender conversation with my therapist and was seriously considering ordering steroids off the Internet thanks to the egg thing. And of course, anything other than 100% support gets you ostracized from LGBTQA communities, which led to me deleting my Discord (it was full of minors anyway… not fun) and participating in increasingly radicalized forums.

To give my own take, I never really was fully lib leaning, for the most part I wasn't that concerned with the subject other than a generic "Just leave them alone" thing so I never had an actual "peak" trans, but as the thing entered the mainstream and I became more involved in politics the more I saw libs feverishly defend lgbt stuff against (what at the time seemed) all reason, the more I looked into it, and it was just a general compounding list of lies and deceptions peddled by both gays and trannies that started pitting me against them.

The more I looked it into it the more I saw that the entire lgbt movement was built on lies by malicious people to the point where the "fundies" I once mocked and derided for being crazy cooks ended up being being proven basically 100% right about basically everything, trannies included.

It wasn't exactly a "peak trans" it was more of a "peak lgbt".

Not really. Marriage is a public institution not a private one and it imapcts literally everyone, not just the people being married. Why do you think that as far back as recorded history goes it was ordained and managed by the local authority? If it only affected the people being married then there would be no reason for every single authority in the history of mankind to become involved in it.

Marriage doesn't exist to profess how much you love getting anal fissures or to get free money via taxes. Since time immemorial it existed to provide a stable enviroment to rear children. "Matrimony" literally means "To make a mother" because it was recognized that that was its function. Raising children is the literal future of society which is why it came with these benefits such as tax breaks.

Even IF intersex people were more than 0.0001% of the population they would still be irrelevant because intersex people are not between the two sexes, there has never been a single human in or outside history that had fully formed fully functioning genitals of both sexes. People hear intersex and being coombrains they instantly think its like hermaphrodite anime porn, its not.

Intersex people in 99.999% of cases still neatly fit into either a male or female box. The ONLY exception where things get a bit complicated with a single condition called androgen insensitivity where a malfunctioning SRY gene means that people with XY chromosomes are immune to androgens and develop a female phenotype as a result.

And you know what? That's STILL irrelevant because its not those people trooning out., its healthy men and women with no other issues.

The answer to the troon debate is quite simple, men and women both physically and mentally are just inately different, the issue is that terfs which are the main opposition to trannies don't actually disagree with them on anything, they just hate men, so its just a pissing match where nobody can raise any points because if they did everyone would notice how similar they are.
