The pid is the id of the chat. Instead of having a constant data stream like the rumble chat the locals chat page just seems to call the php script every time it gets told there is a new message. They don't even force you to provide a cookie or anything like what i remember have to do when i scrapped shit 10 years ago.

If anyone with access to locals can try to curl a private chat id or provide one it'll be interesting to see if that is wide open.

Long time lurker, first time poster; Thanks to your curl line I was able to get a scraper going in Python. There are bound to be bugs but so far it polls for new messages and saves them as JSON files and saves them to disk once a threshold of posts is reached and rotates to a new file. It also, probably more importantly, saves all attached images and sorts them by user.
I will leave it running for a while and if it works well enough and people are interested I would be up for making it public.
