Gotta say, I'm loving this whole new "the internet doesn't matter" Robert.
Not that it is exactly "new", but since Musco took over twitter, Robert has been going non-stop about how the internet isn't real world, go touch grass and yada yada, nothing matters online.
And I do agree in some capacity, the reach and importance of online topics and influencers can be rather limited offline, regardless, social media can still be a very powerfull tool for engaging with public perception.
But nah, we all know this whole talk about "the internet doesn't matter" is more self-service to Robert than anything else. Whatever career "Moviebob" had online is pretty much gone. He has roughly less than half of the views he had 3-2 years ago, and whatever relevance he has now, is to wiki Capeshit to Matpat every month or so. His patreon is a constant drip, and Robert hasn't uploaded anything in almost 3 weeks. Not to mention that Robert hasn't been in any podcasts or collabs with anyone in over 2 years, or since the Escapist decided he wasn't worth keeping.
In contrast, the people who keep dunking on him, more so the Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic, are million viewed channels, with a rather large exposure and a constant stream of videos made with other internet personalities. Point is, they are far more successful than Robert could ever hope to be, and Robert have been doing this shit for over a decade right now.
So here comes the cope. Robert tried this before by saying that it doesn't matter that channels like Critical Drinker are more successful, because a hydraulic press channel has way, WAY more subscribers than both of them, which is a cop out, since that is apples and oranges talk.
So now here is the new cope, nothing on the internet matter, people don't care. Because if Robert doesn't matter, than neither the people who dunk on him.
And sure, go this way Robert, stop uploading, stop trying, get more and more bitter over twitter, watch helplessly your patreon go down and be left with nothing else besides self-pity and loathing of those better than you, it worked wonders for Spoony.
