I'm still certain Pat has done at least a few himself, especially the ones when he's not in the house. Between him and him lying about what counts as a SWATting, I still think the majority of them are him and his lies. But we don't really know, I could be wrong, it just fits my mental image of Pat.

That's my take on it too. Pat has been legitimately swatted around 3-4 times by the roboswatter who has also gone after people in the lolcow sphere, specifically people with threads in the Ethan Ralph section. The remaining 25 or so events probably come from multiple sources:

1. Pat calling them on himself to try and get ammo for the debtor's exam (swattings have really intensified since he's been served for it).
2. Pat seeing a fire truck parked down the street and immediately hopping on his twitter to get those victim updoots.
3. Some rando faggot reading here/OnAForums/Twiiter who enjoys the reaction.

i've heard people say that banning doxes wouldn't stop detractors of KF. That could be true, who knows.

But consider that sites like /pol/ (which have banned doxing & raids) are still around and there's been no big campaign to ban them. They aren't being dropped from ISPs or cloudflare.

You should think and consider why it's the case that nobody with any real authority is pushing to ban 4-chan but pushes hard against splinter imageboards. It's the same reason why two dudes are in a Florida jail right now.

I get the ethical struggle people have with accepting dox as a fact of the site, but cataloging and discussing people can't really work if you can't talk about factual or speculative information tied to their identities. "Just remove the dox" isn't going to satisfy the cows complaining; they don't actually care. They just want the site gone and dox is an easy thing to get victim points. "What is dox?" can't be easily answered so it can't be policed. Most people probably think phone numbers and addresses, but the most basic dox is as simple as linking a legal name to a pseudonymous username. That's pretty much a fundamental aspect of the site, especially for those catalogued here who are more in line with vile criminals than just silly funny autists. Once you know a name everything else pretty much comes with it.

If you want some insight into how policing dox when discussing internet people is a losing proposition, just look at poast and their no dox rule. They can't seem to apply the rule in a consistent and logical way. Things that are dox or not dox seem to just be down to the mod's mood swings. Ultimately the rules against it just end up causing a whole lot of fighting and drama among the users. You can't control other peoples' actions and they'll be abusive if they want. Playing "Janny hide the phone number" won't change that. It might work for a knitting forum, but a gossip forum needs to be able to gossip.

They're not going to pop by the evil dox forums and decide for themselves.

Compromise only works when opposing sides have a common objective. If your different positions are mutually exclusive then "compromise" just ends up creating eventual winners and eventual losers.
