You mean the Wii u era when nintendo treated the internet as funneh delivery service for virtual console games and occasional dlc? Nah, different times.I would like to remind everyone that BotW had performance issues at launch on Switch as well, there was no day 1 patch.
Bingo on this one. Denuvo hasn't had any integration with console games yet. What they were talking about was basically a pitch to try and get game companies like nintendo to bite so they can make deals. Also a shit ton of speculation and rumormongering from niggerfaggots like kotaku and polygon. The denuvo thing was just denuvo talking out their ass, and it wasn't any partnership with nintendo for anything
Denuvo recently changed to a subscription service so companies are dropping it sooner on their games than they used to. The most recent being square enix dropping it from Star Ocean and Diofield Chronicles. Kinda funny seeing game companies get hit with the subscription model like we have been.
This is true. It just will. The switch is an underpowered console. That's all there is to it. That doesn't mean all the performance issues are the fault of the switch. Pokemon S/V showed that some companies just don't give a shit.Regardless of your opinion on the game, the fact is that its going to launch with performance issues
There will be almost certainly be a day 1 patch, and several first party Nintendo games have gotten day 1 patches. Pokemon S/V got one, Arceus got one, Dread got one, Luigi's mansion got one, and Xenoblade 3 got one. That's just what I can think of off the top of my head. ToTK's patch won't fix some of if any of the performance though. They're squeezing blood from a turnip with this thing.I don't think there will be a day 1 patch, I don't recall any first party Nintendo games getting day 1 patches.
This is not true. You have to remember that Nintendo includes the complete games on their carts because not everyone has internet access, the game has to be fully playable from the cartridge without patches,
Multiple games have released where the cartridge alone is not enough. LA Noire requires a 14 gig patch before you can start playing, cartridge be damned. Limited Run released Cosmic Star Heroine which also requires a patch before you can even bother to play. This is especially stupid since it goes against the whole idea of preserving games which they say is their mission statement, when it's actually just market scarcity and scalping.
Other games are severely gimped without the patch such as Mortal Kombat 11 which gives you access to offline cpu fights and a whole lotta nothing without that sweet sweet 22 gig patch that gives access to online, the Krypt, and more.
In summary, I can pretty much guarantee you there will be a day one patch, and I can also guarantee it won't solve all the problems with performance. It probably won't solve even half.
