Has the full base roster been revealed then? I was going yo say that a character being a Kameo doesn't mean squat on them being reinvented in MK12. Scorpion is now sub zero's gay lover but you have skeletor scorpion as a kameo in there as well. But Kano and Sonnia not being in the base roster nor the first dlc is pretty mean.

Evidently so. Plus there's the leaks. But of course, since this is mordern gaming, there'll probably be DLC.

I think the reason why we have the Kuai Liang / Scorpion timeline fuckery is because Scorpion is the face of the franchise. I guess they just wanted to be safe so they gave us Sub Zero 2 in yellow and Skeletor in yellow. It's two different characters.

As far as I know such changes haven't been made to Kano or Sonya. Or Jax for that matter. They've just gotten redesigns over the years and one random Le Power Noir ending that fucked Jaxs character a little.

Capcom was 110% sure the movie was going to be successful, so they immediately wanted to make a game off of it.

The only problem is that they didn't want to do it themselves, so rather than hire someone talented, they hired a company that makes casino games to create it, and their only experience with fighters prior to SFTMTG was Time Killers

In fact they trusted these guys so much (for whatever drug-induced fucking reason) that they were going to give them the opportunity to make SFIII.

There's really no mind-blowing secret about it, even back then Capcom was fucking retarded. It's just that they knew how to hide it well since the Internet wasn't a thing.

Time Killers invented air blocking. Street Fighter the Movie the Game invented EX moves. Fighting games as we know them would not exist without their creative contributions.

There are some interesting things going on in the gameplay but it's a hard sell getting me interested in this when all the current characters are basically just cosplaying older characters.

I don't mind Shao Kahn's design but seriously. why do so many of the female characters have a generic Asian face? Sindel looks almost exactly like Li Mei. The fatality didn't feel very unique to her either, I thought she was going to force her hair into his wounds and orifices or something.

And then they pissed everyone off with the 3 series so hard it basically killed the franchise till 4 revived it. Turns out that gutting the vast majority of the legacy characters in favor of a bunch of knock offs and semi interesting originals wasn't the best move

Also, the redesigns continue to be disappointing with this game. NR has always had an issue sticking with a consistent design since 9 but it's just goofy at this point. Most of the women look alike, the majority of the men look like twinky faggots, and the hyper realistic faces combined with any lack of believable emotion puts them in a really bad uncanny valley situation with me.

Sindel looks pretty good. Nice that she's more of a White Haired Witch than before (this is more on par with Chinese lore and what's seen in their movies now than just moving her hair around a little). Odd that Liu Kang seems to have more of an ego than I thought he had and made all of the gods mortals it seems. I guess he want wants to be The One God.
Also sort of nice seeing Shujinko, if he's playable it'll make sense why the other fighters have their abilities as he borrowed a lot of them

I think it's just this one. His dialog with Geras makes it seem like he can't leave Kitana alone which messes up the timeline so he has to start over. I think Raiden will fall in love with Kitana which will upset Liu Kang.

Cage is getting the better deal out of everyone so far, Unchanged design, same VA, decent writing for him and they snipped the kombat kid and Sonya relationship (for now)

I don't know if I like this Shao Kahn, it's not even nostalgia on my part, I just don't think it looks as cool as before. Nitaro doesn't look bad, but he's still slimmer than he should be, not even just the human torso side either, I'm talking about the horse part. That's a weak-ass horse, like a fucking pony. I think the main issue is that the designs look too generic. Especially in comparison to the games before, even including MK11.

That said, Sindel is probably the most fucked over character in MK after MK11. It's like NRS' own Spider-Man VS the writers.

MK9: A hot, evil looking villainess woman who actually is a widow who is a slave to her husband's murderer, yet a her loving mother to her daughters with said man, & great person who sacrifices herself for the sake of people who aren't even from her realm, so they don't get invaded by Shao Kahn.

MK11: A hot, evil looking woman who is actually an evil gold-digger thot who cheats on & later kills her own man, considers her daughters as disappointment, turns into female Shao Kahn, & has done all this for power-hungry bullshittery.

That's not all either, her MK11 design might be her best design (MK Deception version was bustier tho), but her character assassination & NRS prudish attitude & active berating of the old fans beforehand has led to it looking like that NRS thinks you need to be an evil whore to look hot in any way.

MK12: Fucking hag version of Maggie Q. Also, that YAS QWEEN shit with that "Who's Your Queen?", it's like NRS can't help themselves. She doesn't look ugly, & the character assassination might be being reworked. But it still is bad.

Also, the NRS shills on Twitter & Reddit are celebrating Sindel being asian now because she should look like her daughter. Despite the fact that said daughter was literally White/Persian-esque before being race swapped to Asian in the last game.

I still don't get the reasoning for Kitana & Mileena going from Persian like looks to Asian all of a sudden, but now you could at least say that Liu Kang is the new god so he's making the reality in his way, thus the Chinkyfication/Yellowashing of the Netherrealmers.

They look even uglier than MK11 now.

I have stopped liking nearly anything MK that came after MKX. I'd say the animated films aren't bad tho.
