Viv fucking wishes her writing was comparable to BoJack’s.

Also they’re really doubling down on totally not being offended.

Everyone complaining about the bad writing should be more considerate. They need to remember that at least 70% of Vivzie's mental energy is spent fighting the compulsion to kill off Millie so she can place Moxxie in some kind of gay relationship
I don't even care about the bad writing. I don't even think it's necessarily that bad, other than the plotting.

I DO NOT CARE IF THE CHARACTERS ARE GAY AS FUCK. LET THEM BE GAY!

I just want lots of murder. Where is the murder you promised us? I want the fucking MURDER! Be gay in between the murders, it won't bother me.

If anything I think Bojack Horseman had the opposite problem of Helluva Boss. (Which is also funny, since the acronyms are reversed, BH and HB.)

Bojack's writers were concerned that people were sympathizing a little TOO much with the characters, and you, silly viewer, weren't supposed to do that. You were supposed to ignore the characters redeeming qualities (except Diane, who was always right, especially when she was wrong). You were supposed to cheer when they were finally punished for their misbehavior. It got to the point where in-character descriptions of past events lied about facts to make them sound worse than what actually happened.

For example, Pete Repeat telling Hollyhock about the night Bojack got drunk with a bunch of kids at prom. Pete claimed that he forced them to drink alcohol, which was a complete lie, they had brought their own and Bojack went along with it. What he actually DID was bad enough. One of the girls drank so much she ended up in the ER, and Bojack swore everyone to secrecy to protect him image. But the show just could never resist saying "NEVER FORGET THAT THIS A BAD PERSON, STOP SYMPATHIZING WITH THEM, THEY DESERVE PUNISHMENT", even if they had to make shit up. Even if the punishment was for something they didn't actually do, you were supposed to support it because that's karma.

It's kind of ironic that the more a creator makes one of their character unsympathetic, the more sympathy the general audience feels towards them. I'll use Stella as an example, since she's the one that falls greatly in this category.

At the beginning of the show, a lot of people sympathized with Stella due to the fact she was cheated on. Yes, her responses to said cheating were not good, as killing your husband is an extreme reaction, but you could understand why she would take that path. Especially since he's cheating with her on someone who is of lower class and is very open about it to the public. He also doesn't really seem to care or feel any regrets on cheating on his wife, so add that to her feelings of betrayel.

Then season 2 came along and it's revealed that no, neither one actually loved each other ever, it was an arranged marriage. Since we haven't seen any suggestion yet that she had been cheating as well, we now have a woman who was forced into a marriage that she wanted no part of, but still remained faithful while her husband had an affair with a lower class individual, with no regards to how that would affect his family.

But wait, you must now also know that not only did she not love Stolas, she practically hated Stolas for the entire time they were married because...she was just born evil. She's always been a bitch her entire life. There's now no responsibility for her acting out on anger because she was just born that way. To add on top of that, she's pretty much stupid now and all decisions she does make are decided by her brother, who may or may not be in an incestuous relationship with her depending on if the show wants to take that route.

See what happens when you try to make a character more unsympathetic to the audience? You make them less of a realistic character and more of a one dimensional prop that your audience can't get upset with because they are no longer a person who has control over what they do. They're now just an obstacle that does whatever the story wants them do.

If season 2 was deemed not canon, would the show suffer, or prosper?
It would still have world building problems but it would definitely prosper. Even with episode 8 season 1 still has good enough plot and the characters still had substance to them before it became Viv's fujoshi magnum opus. Most critics of the show agree solely episode 1 of season 2 ruined the whole pacing of the series.

I don't mind Angel/Husk being a thing, I hate it because I know it's going to take over the A plot of half the episodes and Viv will probably immediately pair them up to jump right into her beloved yaoi and not waiting a few episodes before they start hitting it off.
Also isn't Cherry Bomb supposed to be Angel's emotional support? If it wasn't for the redesign that was revealed on Twitter over a year ago I'd assume she got removed from the show.

I love watching the Streisand Effect happen in real time. If Viv hadn't gotten mad about that Digital Circus video, no one would be posting these "if Vivzie wrote it" parodies.
Wait what did I miss???

I'm genuinely curious if there are any straight characters in Viv's work? Pretty much everyone's either currently gay or retconned to gay. I don't have a problem with gay people and even I think the shows are to fucking queer. It boring and repetitive at this point.

Niffty is the only confirmed straight character.
