Something makes me wonder is where are the traditionally masculine characters like some giga-chad that was some warrior who fucked up people in life and in Hell are some warlord with an army of other chads. Unless it proves only the gay go to hell which would be quite hilarious
I was skimming through the HunieCast last night when I found Vivzie actually briefly commenting on that. I'll have to dig it up.

Good to know new Vaggie looks as bad as she sounds (seriously, she looks like a skin walker). Also it's jealousy, but muted
The new vaggie is the one on the right, and I mean, she's a tad masculine and not super conventionaly attractive looking, and doing an awkward polite smile with the woman shes replacing, but she also looks put together and like she showers which instantly makes her miles more attractive than Vivzie and her real peers. Personally think she looks fine.

She's also an actual celebrity (and a 42 yo married mother) who was fan-favourite Rosa in Brooklyn 99, the voice of Mirabel in encanto, and in a bunch of other stuff like in the heights, modern family, etc, so most likely she is just half-assing this job specifically. Cant even fully blame her, the show is probably significantly more shit than she expected it to be signing on.

Last one is a HuskerDust duet so expect the fandom to eat it up.
I can really hear the influence from Lin-Manuel Miranda and (probably?) Avenue Q. I dunno about anyone else, but I really wish this trend in musicals of lazily slapped together "spoken word" lyrics would fucking die already. Every vocalist sounds like they're struggling to sing because the lyrics are awkward and don't flow naturally, but I guess that's just the fashion right now?

Also, when Angel hits those high notes in "Loser Baby" I instantly hear Spongebob.

ETA: And these leaks are suspiciously well-timed. I guess they still count as leaks if they appear mere hours before the premiere of the new episodes. Still, it feels intentional, but maybe I forgot to take my schizo pills.

Reading the past 20 pages has inspired me to make another analytical post/rant, which I haven't done in a while. So if you're not interested in my two sense, just ignore this.

The idea of Angel Dust oversexualizng himself does make some sense if he did go through some sexual trauma. I mean, it's one of the tell signs of child abuse when child acts out sexually. Hell, in the gay community, many men have openly talked about how their first experience was with an older man when they were a minor, and that it's just kind of normal. So Angel Dust staying in an abusive situation, participating in many sexual activities, and aggressively flirting with others who aren't interested isn't exactly abnormal here.

The problem here is that Viv and the other people working on the show don't see that being the problem. Well, they see him being in an abusive situation as a problem, but they don't see that as being an effect from the real problems he's dealing with. They just think that him standing up to Val, leaving him, and getting into another relationship will fix everything, when it won't. Until he fixes the real underlying issues, he's not going to get better.

The best course of action for Angel Dust would be to not only leave the abusive situation but to also stop having sex for a while since he uses it as a coping mechanism. Just like how there are addicts for drugs and alcohol, addiction to sex is very real and dangerous. Angel Dust would need to find the underlying causes for why he is like this and find better and healthier methods to cope with his issues. And he should definitely not get into a relationship until he is in a better place physically and mentally, because that would end up terribly for both parties. But, going by the posts and likes, it seems like he will end up with Husk (who also has his own addiction and issues to work on), and everything will work out fine and dandy. Even though, he is technically sexually assaulting Husk, by making unwanted advances at him. So, great job Viv. Really showing off the gay stereotype with this one.
I've actually been having similar thoughts and concerns about Angel's prospective story arc since this hubbub over Angel/Val-shipping emerged, but have been waiting for the double Featured Content surge to die down before talking about it.

Since the Hazbin pilot and Addict MV many years ago, I took it to be obvious that Angel will journey to becoming clean from his intense, hedonistic degeneracy of sex and drugs, which I take to be whole reason why he's in Hell to begin with. This coincides the hotel's virtuous mission, the redemption of Angel likely to be the most dramatic case at the tail end of the show. The second episode leak even gives me hope that this remains to be plan with Angel appearing to be jealous of Sir Pent and Charlie's act of declared abstinence, despite the comedic lameness of their whole therapeutic roleplay.

With this talk specifically about Val's place as Angel's antagonist, however, I have a growing concern that this story arc for Angel is not to be, similar to how the broad potential story about redeeming sinners appears to be fading in favor of other narratives like combatting Heaven. What I can unfortunately see happening instead is Angel's conflict being entirely to do with his relation to Val, meaning that Angel will be deemed a-okay while behaving exactly the same degenerative way once he manages to defeat Val and break away from him for good. After all, I don't think Viv's progressive audience actually has any moral issue with Angel being a sex freak or even a druggie, rather satisfied if he just concludes with laying off the hard drugs. His reason for being in Hell might even be deemed a mistake or simply ignored to protect Angel's woobie status.

On a similar note, in light of this amusing argument over fictitious sexual assault Viv got herself involved in, I wonder whether Angel/Val fanart and such will be deemed verboten in "official" Hazbin fan communities.

Well, overanalysis like @Alter Ego wrote is basically the main reason why i don't give a shit with animation nowadays.
Isn't bad, man; but you can put that big effort of hitting your head in the wall to do something useful?
Comes to thread about discussion of an animation, has to proclaim to everybody he's too cool to give a shit about animation

Why are you here

And I really like Avenue Q too (though that actually achieved its goal in being funny). Honestly I can't say much about the songs. They don't hit the same catchiness as "Stay Gone" did. Maybe it's because the characters singing in these songs are ones I don't really care about. The one rule in musicals is to only have a song when the emotions are just too big to just speak them out, and these don't really achieve that. It just feels like many of these songs just are extra fluff. Vaggie doesn't sound like Vaggie, Velvette is a voice that still doesn't fit with her design, and Husk sounds bored.

Oh yeah, definitely. I still catch myself humming Avenue Q tunes from time to time. "Loser Baby" wishes it was as funny as "It Sucks to Be Me".
Good musicals have songs that are still appealing long after the music has stopped because they have some sort of application to our own lives. The HH's songs I've heard so far don't have any impact within the show or after the runtime ends (except for maybe Adam's song in the first ep, because it delivered information and had an emotional weight to its purpose). All these other songs are, like you said, fluff. They don't deliver information that hadn't already been said in dialog and, sadly, aren't even catchy. The backing tracks are pretty good, though. Makes me wish it was a metal rock opera.

Vivziepop and her Helluva boss/Hazbin Hotel fans are probably the same faggots on Reddit who think smiling friends is pro-Christian conservative propaganda for mocking nihilism, pro-giving people second chances and being anti-suicide. Not even kidding. These people exist.
Why is every single cartoon fanbase fucking schizophrenic to some extent.

Probably it's because the writers for these songs have no experience in musicals. Probably why they all sound like generic pop songs.

I think I have somewhat of an answer to that.
Cartoons exhibit extreme emotions, iconography, symbolism, and (usually) shipping opportunities. It leaves room for fans to develop "belief systems" between character dynamics and encourages discussion, predictions, etc. Cartoon characters are less threatening and easier to read/attain than a live-action character played by a real person. It makes them more easily accessible in a way that particular fans feel as though they "know" them, if that makes sense.
