Being a New Yorker, it's really insane how the heavily dense leftard 4 boroughs (Staten Island is a pretty hardcore red stronghold) end up dictating the politics for the rest of the state which is like 90% red. And the rest of NYS has been complaining about this very thing because it's not just the electoral college but things like how the 4 boroughs end up choosing our politicians and you end up with people like this utterly batshit governor Hochul we have now who's installed by the vote results from the 4 boroughs and yet she dictates policy to people in Buffalo and Rochester which does absolutely nothing for them. Especially since their problems (poverty and lack of business opportunities) have nothing to do with the shit Hochul dictates which is meant to benefit leftards in NYC.

It's made worse by the fact that the state as a whole has skewed considerably more red. Just this last election cycle, Repubs won basically every single town council seat on Long Island, something unprecedented in NY.

Turns out decades of mismanagement by a political party that's been in office for the overpowering majority of them doesn't leave a lot of room to blame the other side.
