Anyone showing up at a "GamerGate Meetup" had terrible OpSec. They're lucky it was this loser showing up and not someone more cunning (or even more deranged). I mean I get it, a lot of people hated the game journos, including normal people who just wanted to have fun playing videogames who had never even been on 4chan. So, naturally, some of them wanted to do an offline meetup.

I don't think anyone who really understood the kind of people we were dealing with back then were going to easily give out their real names or go to places in person to say, "Hi, I'm a GamerGater!" That's just a bad idea. I remember seeing people doing that at the time and it just made me facepalm. I even advised a few people to stay anonymous if they wanted to discuss GamerGate online.

This guy, of course, was the one bragging about how he wanted to escalate things into physical violence. Normal people just didn't want their hobby invaded by weirdos like him.

He says nothing of substance to back up his claim, and when people reply with actual screenshots and evidence of SBI's harassment, he has nothing to say.
I guess it's just disappointing. I usually admire Jason's demeanor and sense of humor. To me, it feels like another individual who has been corrupted by the current zeitgeist of the internet, cementing himself in a political corner to placate and retain his audience of paypigs that flock to his stream (Pat from 2bfp is another example of this, although it's easier to get him to mask off). If you ever go to the Video Game Valley stream he does pretty much nightly, you'll see that the chat has been poisoned by troons and spastics. Really tanks the stream sometimes, and it's just sad to hear Jason curtail to these people night after night instead of making cool short movies or podcasts like he used to. His new animations are hit or miss to me.

Why must my heroes disappoint me so? Llamas With Hats was one of my favorite web-series.

Honestly, I feel some sympathy for these people I've heard so many people taken aside for sensitivity training, which is basically just a struggle session where they put you amidst some of these rainbow nazi degenerates who just start tearing you apart with their criticisms, humiliating you for your part in it, and teaching you a new "right and wrong."

Understand what a Struggle Session is and do not participate. I went through a very intense public one at the height of my career.

The fundamental problem with DOS games and other old PC games is that you need to know how to use the operating systems to use them. DOS is especially complicated with all its possible hardware configurations and weird memory extensions.

That's especially true for the older games. Later DOS games like Duke Nukem 3D were pretty much designed to run off DOS prompt under Windows rather than native DOS so they're piss easy to get running, meanwhile I've been able to get Star Trek 25th Anniversary running in native environment like once, ever.

Only downside, and I've mentioned this to other friends in the past who shilled for certain social media. This stuff's only as practical as the users it holds. A social media, without users, does not serve its purpose.
