I have no idea what the hell the first one is even talking about with the intro. There's a space battle, they crash to the planet, other chick pulls her out of the pod. That's it. The post makes it sound like some sort of exploitation porno, pretty much just making shit up. As far as the slow-mo shot... that's because it's the main character's first appearance on screen, and it's a pretty common thing to do. It's almost like these people don't actually play video games or something.

The funny thing is, if you spend too much time just staring at her ass or whatever you will likely get steamrolled pretty quickly as the enemies in this game really don't fuck around.

Dark souls 3 has a ton of fancy moves and weapon skills that are useless due to not breaking enemy poise and leaving you locked in cool yet suicidal animations (god knows how much I tried to make Friede's Scythes work in 2 scythe stance). A lot of combat techniques from Sekiro suffered the same fate, as in Elden Ring and Code Vein and so on. They really should either accept that they cannot get too fancy due to how the core mechanics work or if they want to go fancy, let them do their thing on more than the shittiest of shit enemies.

Oh, you're absolutely right. In fact, I had completely forgotten about all of the new attack upgrades available in Sekiro since I originally found most of them to be distractions not worth the risk of punishment compared to just quick regular attacks between parries. Similarly, in Souls games, I habitually just take a big shield and straight sword or claymore to maximize my defense (with medium roll) and just R1 my way through the games.

I believe the ResetEra person is referring to EVE's initial "damsel" demeanor through the prologue until you're in the city. You'd see more of them complaining about that had Tachy been a man through that whole sequence instead, given the clear seniority dynamic between her and EVE.

I feel like even that's s a stretch because she immediately starts killing shit, and even helps kill the fat boss at the end. Like it didn't even cross my mind.

You being weaker in the beginning and having to be helped/taught things is pretty common for tutorials in games. It's like saying Marcus Fenix was a damsel because he had to be busted out by Dom in Gears 1.

Reminded me that the only Sekiro art I used was the leaping drop kick since it did absurd poise damage AND dodged sweep attacks in a single sequence, was my little hack to take out Ishin phase 1 quickly, though I believe it eventually got patched to reduce it's power. But then you have all of the awesome techniques you learn from the final bosses and they are dead weight. In souls I do enjoy my charged R2s here and there and did dual wield a lot so L1 was relevant to me, but yeah, for the most part, unless a weapon art is ranged, or quick, most of the time you are better of by poking with a couple of R1s and focusing on just not dying.

I preordered the Stellar Blade deluxe edition after the sneeding and dilating on resetera and twitter. I was originally only gonna get the base game, but I must contribute.
