When they first launched I appreciated the thought they put into the asterians. Using drones for almost everyone means they don’t have to risk taking actual losses. Something a long lived, low reproducing, and endangered race should really strive to do. I remember they had a few units like their commanders and space wood elves that would actually be on the field, but it made sense to reduce the risk to their species. The Asterians from Firefight from Mantic had the right idea and their bootleg Eldar don't fight directly but through drones. But GW has always been retarded when writting long lived races in decline. High elves died im droves yet could keep multiple theaters of war. Wood Elves at least stuck to their tree and Harlequins rarely act directly (or at least used to be the case), but the High and Eldar are always there face first.
Some of the biggest whales never play. And could probably open a store with their backlog.Reminds of a retard from a 40k chat group (don't know why I stick there...) that would constantly post "look what I got". There was no way in hell he was even building stuff at any rate to cover how much shit he bought. Guy was also functionally retarded, played one game of 9th with him and I swore never again, I knew his rules better than him and I didn't play that much 9th either.
I haven’t played third edition KoW but I enjoyed first and second. I even got their historical book, which was more based on pop history films than anything else. My friend and I had a lot of fun mixing historical with fantasy lists for the hell of it.To get my miniatute fix I focus in other games. Played some KoW today after a long time without doing it and it's still great.
Mantics minis have gotten better over the years. I got their elves, undead, and their og dwarves… the undead were alright but the elves have not held up at all.
I backed first edition of dead zone. Never played it though. I found some of their resin more annoying than failcast so I haven’t purchased anything from dead zone recently but I have been looking at their guard equivalent and their halo game.
