I have an idea, name the thing you hate most about current 40K lore.

I hate sapient Necrons, they ruined the unstoppable eldritch horror aspect of old school necrons who just wake up and kill shit until they're killed in kind. Now they have allegiances and can be reasoned with & negotiated with, arguably more so than the Eldar.

heven though it stated several times he was a teacher of commissar that it doesn't have an overall effect on how they act towards there units that are in charge of I mean if he is supposedly one of the greatest heroes of the imperium then people should want to emulate him and his style of leadership rather than continue on with ineffective tactics.

Also I know they just wanna keep selling me the same tank models but seriously the imperium should have tanks that don't look like chunk of the asset mixtures of World War 2 and World War One tanks
the only people who get newer futuristic looking tanks of the adeptus custodies and now they're all lesbian looking ball dakes.

There's nothing wrong with having tanks that look like real world tanks but with the futuristic warhammer twist also what is with then forgetting the idea that man portable missile launchers exist for anti aircraft use.

Long range ballistic missiles apparently those just stopped existing in the grim darkness of the 44th Millennium I mean I know they have some models that have them but you should be able to blow up the space communists from across the map with ballistic missiles.

Also hate how they change that you can't have people who will have half elf because that could have created an extremely cool chapter of space marines that are all half space elves who have extremely potent psychic abilities and are somewhat tolerated by the inquisition.


I know xenophobia funny and all but seriously the imperium used to be a lot more reasonable when it came to diplomacy in the old editions.

and if they wanted to make female space marines you can make one of the missing primarchs female and having all female legion.

there's not a space marine chapter who specializes in support

make them work very closely with the Astra militarum and the imperial Navy and for a bonus you could give them all psychic abilities that allow them to use the psychic powers to heal people .
and just state that this is the only female space marine legion and none of the other ones are capable of allowing women.
Read out some ******** how all the other primarchs mikes wouldn't stop being overly protective of that primarchs cause she's the youngest and something something male instinct.
Hell you can even justify the idea of then referring to them as brother as something which has more to do with battle brother and the concept of brotherhood rather than the other meaning of it .

Also make the legion have extreme empathy for children and wanna protect them make them extremely effeminate that would really **** everyone off

If they were actually serious, they'd try to convince right-leaning billionaires to buy a controlling stock in GW, and with that, they could actually gatekeep something that their allies actually own. It's basically the right-wing equivalent of left-wing slacktivism at this point. Yes, we'll all stand together, yes, we'll boycott big bad GW, but then the next box set gets sold out and the scalpers are selling it for 2-3 times the original selling price on Ebay, and even they're going to be sold out eventually.

The price hikes alone should've caused these fans to turn away. That's more important than lore-rape with the Primaris Marines or the Fem-Custodes. That actually impacts people in real life instead of a fictional lore. But they sucked it up back then despite complaining about it. So the idea that GW's consumers will leave over this minor lore rape when GW has been raping the lore and jacking up prices for decades is laughable.

Nah some of the best 40k fiction in recent years has come out of the Necrons retcon, Infinite and the Divine and the Twice Dead King books come to mind.

They're alot more interesting than rip off terminator "Chaos Androids". Necrons are my favourite 40k faction by far though so I'm biased.

The thing I dislike about modern 40k the most is how they handle Chaos, they're beaten constantly in the lore but still somehow advance their goals all the time through some shadowy side objective or something, just let them have some proper wins ffs.

They've been edging people with what the Dark Mechanicum have been cooking up in the Eye of Terror for 20 years now and all we got were the venomcrawler and vex machinator along with negavolt cultists in the Blackstone Fortress game that kinda stalled out. I would have thought they would have gone balls deep with daemon engines considering how much of a centrepiece they could be. The Defiler was always cool asf to see. Same with these things. I've been keeping an eye on Necromunda releases for a while now. Nobody here in my area plays it but I do like their designs. The Delaque make great fodder for Chaos Kill Team kitbashing.

also why can't we get a branch of the mechanicus especially the adeptus biologists who focus on improving the bodies rather than replacing them that would be actually a good idea but no all tech the mechanicus have to look like cyberpunk dystopian weirdos because reasons

also you can't do experimentation because that would require GW to actually think about new ideas to create for the imperium of man

my friend has a bunch of old battle fleet gothic miniatures and you literally won't let me touch them because he says the what like 10 grand the only reason they're worth that much is because they refuse to print new ones because apparently no one ever wants to play giant space battles or you could have a multi layered game where you play battle fleet gothic depending on who gets the most fleet victories determines who has more points on the ground but that would be too complicated for GW to actually pull off because the concern with people buying plastic rather than creating a good rules set

Because that would actually reverse the dystopia of the Imperium. Imagine if they roll out biological improvements that make the average worker self-heal and be as strong as a Space Marine. All of a sudden living in an industrial shithole while working a factory job for 18-hour shifts isn't so bad because your body has been augmented to survive worse and you only need two hours of sleep.

Not to mention all soldiers will be superhuman, not just the Astartes, Custodes, or Sororitas. Everyone in the IG will be wading into battle with bolters and power armor while wielding power swords or thunder hammers. Goodbye grimdark universe, hello brutal capeshit. Fighting Orks who can tear Space Marines in half won't be so daunting if there's endless trillions of Space Marines waiting to be deployed.

I never got their insistence on pointless, waste of money side games (Legiones Imperialis, Titanicus, Aeronautica) when Battlefleet (with support) could make a wonderful companion to 40k

Make /yourdudes/ flagship and fleet/iconic vessels, include parts like god marks and parts for CSM, battle damage parts, imbedded boarding pods and transfers galore.

I’d love to recreate /mydudes/ warship, “The Favoured Son” as a mini.

I hated it too. The C'Tan were pretty interesting to me, but now they're just fucking useless. There's no horror to modern Necrons for me - it's like the Replicators in Stargate: SG-1 all over again.

Not sure if it's my most hated part of 40K lore though. I don't like how Ghazghkull can't seem to get a definitive win on anything. He's been hamstrung fighting an old man for however-long and can't even be given the outright W for it, and then he gets decapitated by Space Marine #17893521.

I remember the post basically said 'so long as I am here there will never be female marines' if we take that as true, that means until now this person has been able to stop the faggotory because it's all been in house however he wouldn't be able to do shit with investors willing to do anything for amazon bucks, if this above post is true then fem custodes was likely a concession.

I'm very wary of anything from 4chan, but I can see this being a distinct possibility.

The Lore of the game is the lowest barrier of entry. People see a picture of the God Emperor with Donald Trumps head shopped on it, and then wonder wtf that is. So they go to youtube or tik tok or whatever, and then discover this hectic wargame thing.

30 years of story telling for the little plastic models has snowballed into something that is on the cusp of literal cultural transcendence. And its about to get murdered in the cradle by people who view everything as political. The "Lore Chuds" will be the first to go. They won't be the last.
