DELPHI, Ind. (WLS) -- Indiana State Police are expected to release more details Monday morning about an arrest in the 2017 murder of two girls in Delphi

Police are expected to name the suspect during a news conference in Delphi at 9 a.m. Central Time.

Residents told ABC7 they've interacted with the suspect multiple times and said the individual reportedly worked at a local pharmacy.

Sources tell ABC's Indianapolis affiliate a person has been arrested in connection with the murders.

"The state police never really discussed details on what was found at the scene, but the belief all along is that there was at least some sort of genetic material," Brad Garrett, ABC News contributor and former FBI agent. "Clearly they have something that links him to the crime."

The case has been shrouded in mystery since February 2017 when 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German seemingly disappeared after going for a hike. Their bodies were found the next day.

"How did this come to light almost five years after this crime was committed?" Garret said. "Something broke in recent days, at least to the point that it gave them enough probable cause and evidence to arrest this new person."

The girls' killer was able to avoid capture, even with thousands of tips coming in to police and despite one of the teens, Libby, taking this grainy video the day of their disappearance showing a man walking towards the girls.

Authorities have said he may be the killer. Libby also captured a chilling recording, thought to be the man's voice.

Libby's family reacted to the update expected later Monday. Her sister Kelsi tweeted, "just know how grateful I am for all of you."

Just know how grateful I am for all of you. No comments for now, any questions please refer to the Carroll county prosecutors office. There is tentatively a press conference Monday at 10am. We will say more then. Today is the day%uD83D%uDC9C

It just looks a lot like they're not wanting to actually look for any and all of the people involved for whatever reason, and are wanting to put it 100% on Richard Allen and wash their hands of it, truth be hanged.

Do you think someone involved is paying off the police or maybe someone in law enforcement is involved in the murder?

Richard Allen looks like a pervert. But that doesn't mean he's a murderer. I still really don't know though. In the Tom Webster video is says that geofencing data showed no numbers in the area where the murders took place contained Richard Allen's number. Now that also doesn't mean a lot. He could have had a burner or didn't bring his phone because he knew geofencing might expose his identity. Still sus though. I'm not sure about GPS. Do you really need that turned on to be geofenced? I'm confused as to how it works. Allen had 16 phones at his home. Some people have multiple phones or never throw out old ones. But 16 is still a lot.

Allen says he was there and watching a stock ticker so he didn't see much. I assume that the police dumped all the phones. The whole thing looks like a dog and pony show and even if Allen is guilty they're gonna fudge the works hard aren't they? These girls will never get justice.

I wonder if there are even enough cell towers around Delphi to be able to track a phone with enough accuracy to be useful.

I'm not sure.
It does seem a little suspicious that they don't seem interested in anyone but Richard Allen, but then cops are often lazy and just want to close a case.

Am I the only one noticing that folks will talk a little about Odinists but rarely mention the Vinlanders?

Lots of cow-like behavior going on with the true crime youtubers. Nothing new there really.
Crime Knight put out a VERY annoying 12 minute video about ...something? Someone coming after him? Doxing, I guess? I couldn't tell because he kept censoring himself with a super loud BEEEP noise every two seconds and it was resetting my brain whenever I heard it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-G4SwBPKcI

OMG the beep. Why beep? Why not just mute it? These beeps are murder on headphone users, migraine inducing too. Anyway, he's annoying and the bad greenscreen is bad. But best of all he calls himself Crime Knight. Crime Knight!

Seems to be something about Crime Knight getting doxed via a copyright counterclaim. Someone from the Netherlands now has that info. I can't take the beeps so I tapped out. He must have made this video before realising he might have to censor some things.

None of these losers care about murdered children. They just want attention. What is it that Fig leaked that got him into trouble anyway? He DFE'd.

Some court stuff from today. I can't focus on it right now but I would bet that there are some people that, the more they hear about what's going on, are high-fiving each other and laughing because it means things are going to get further away from the truth.

(also I have developed a cringe response to anyone saying to focus on the girls or the families, or that it's all about the girls and the families. There are folks using that as a way to shut down actual discussions and to push forum posts down the page. Not here but elsewhere online. It's transparent as hell and I wish they'd stop, but it's a tactic that works so they won't.)

The police "lost" over two months worth of video interviews. Bearing in mind that this is an agency that is NOT used to having eyes on them and monitoring their behavior, was this an accident?

I keep thinking about how all those interviews with potential suspects are just... gone. At best it's horrific incompetence. At worst? Well.

Didn't they decide to arrest Richard Allen because someone was revisiting the case, going over the interviews from 2017?
Wouldn't they have known then that the other info was gone?
Wasn't it just the luckiest thing ever that Richard Allen's interview was still available? I mean, where would this case even be without it?

The true crime channels keep bringing up the crime scene photos, since they were discussed in court yesterday. A watercolor rendition of the scene can be found on True Crime Design's community page, archived here - https://archive.ph/yRb8v Gotta scroll down a little to see it, I tried to archive just the one post but the sites are giving me trouble.

Hmm. Has judge Gull deliberately been keeping money from getting to the defense lawyers?

Y'all realize that if Richard Allen is convicted for this crime, no one else will ever be investigated for having a part in it.
The case will be closed and it will never be spoken of again.

The handling of this entire case has been an absolute dumpster fire on both law enforcement and social media end of things. I get that people on social media were getting extremely retarded about this case and tried playing detective, but the handling in the court is very suspicious as well.

I keep thinking about how bent out of shape the court is over the crime scene photos being leaked.
Does knowing about the scene actually hurt the case, or does it just make it harder to cover up what actually happened out there, you know, in case someone was maybe trying to spin a narrative instead of finding out the truth?

I am once again reminded of how the state police said immediately after the murders, that the public was safe and there was no reason to fear it might happen again. Now, how would anyone know that? Were they lying to keep people from being upset or did they know damn well who did the thing and why?

This shit is making me cranky.

Here's a video from The Prof discussing the symbolism at the crime scene. I tried to archive it but for whatever reason that isn't working for me right now.

Seems like the latter, and that certain people are allowed to do whatever they like, no matter how horrifying it is. Something stinks.

Defense lawyers want the interview Richard Allen did with the police tossed out.

In the interview, Richard Allen said -
"It's over. I was perfectly fine. I was cooperating. I was going to give you my phone and then, you know, when you started reading all these documents — that's at the — here's my thing is. I feel like you guys think I done this. So, I'm done. You do what you need to do. It's your job. I understand that, but you better f*****g leave my reputation out of it. So you do what you need to do, and then, like I said, when you do find this guy, I'll expect the apology."

"Leave my reputation out of it." Just a normal thing for an average Joe who works at a small town CVS to say.

If anyone's trying to figure out wtf is going on in Indiana, something to remember is that places called Peru, Mexico, Denver, Galveston...? Those are all the names of lil' communities near Delphi.

So if it seems like a total stretch to believe that a bunch of redneck Viking wannabes could be travelling all over the globe? They're literally just talking about going down the road a bit.

With so many pedophiles in that area, I would be surprised if no one took and distributed any pictures of the girls, before or after death. I mean, how hard would it have been to hand off a thumb drive full of pictures and/or video, maybe to someone waiting near the scene?

I may not be making much sense, sorry bout that.

Elvis Fields sure knew a lot about that crime scene. Was Richard Allen alone that day?
