Here's a video comparing the driving physics between GTA IV and GTA V, along with also highlighting the mod I mentioned earlier, Drive V:

So which physics do you prefer? Personally. GTA IV's were far better, and GTA V's physics only look worse and more unnatural when compared directly against IV as this video does. I think I'll echo what this video, and the video I posted earlier, declare, which is that GTA VI will do best finding a middle ground between what IV did and what V did. In fact, I think Drive V is perfect in that regard, and Rockstar should have looked to that mod for guidance on how to proceed.
I loved the weight and impact that IV brings, but I like V's arcade driving. I believe they overdid it with the suspension with IV. I'm glad they improved motorcycle controls from TLaD. If VI could have the Drive V mechanics, I think it would be perfect.

I just noticed that Franklin's default car is an expy of a Dodge Charger/Hellcat. It took me ten years to notice it.

I hope GTA VI allows you to have a lowrider without spending much money.
So thats the car that black youth thugs break in all the time. Dodge Chargers are some of the most stolen vehicles in the country next to anything KIA/HYUNDAI.

The Lost and the Damned
Best: Mid-mission checkpoints, which saved so much time grinding or getting around compared to previous games.
Worst: Johnny cuts ties with Ashley and the gang...just to end up getting his head kicked in by Trevor a few years later.
The Lost and Damned

Best: motorcycle controls. In GTA IV, motorcycles had no grip. Too slippery to control, ANY collision would send you flying down the street. The Lost and Damned improved them ten-fold. Obviously, because you're a biker. You can still fall off the bike, but you'd practically have to TRY to collude off it. Bonus points for allowing shotguns as drive by weapons.

Worst: air hockey. The Lost and Damned introduced air hockey as a friend activity. I hate it. Your paddle is "floaty" on the table. Way too loose for any precise movement. Good luck when you or your opponents corners the puck. It's in The Ballad of Gay Tony as well with the same problems.

The Ballad of Gay Tony

Best: mission replayability. This was the first GTA that allows you to replay missions, but AFTER you complete the story. You're scored on your performance based on accuracy, time, secondary objectives. I don't like how cutscene time accounts FOR the time requirement. I appreciate it by embracing the level of freedom GTA gives with its sanbox. Some missions you'd want to replay for the spectacle.

Worst: its conclusion. I like how The Ballad of Gay Tony wraps up some story threads from IV and TLaD. That's the best part about the IV saga; everything ties together if you pay attention. But, I feel everything with Luis and Tony wraps up too quickly. It ramps up less than halfway through, then just ends. Almost like the writers were in a rush or restricted from IV's original plot.

The more i think about it, the more i would've loved to see GTA 4's story revolving just around Niko and Roman getting unwillingly involved with the Russian mafia. A few tweaks here and there and you could've had a full game's worth.

As much as i like some of the third act with the Italian American mob, early GTA 4 when you step off the boat and have to deal with the same shit you ran away from feels much more different than what comes after.

Second act sucks though

Not what the 2023 studies say as Hyundai Elantra and Sonata are more stolen than a typical Chevy Camaro or Dodge Charger
Both of you are right in a way.
Going back to 2016 (earliest actual report from the NICB I could find) shows that the most stolen vehicles were Hondas and Full Size Pickups, But if you look at 2016 model year cars the Dodge Charger takes 4th place, though total reported thefts didn't break 1000.

The 2013 Report showed similar numbers but I couldn't find the PDF for it.

Katt Williams is right, Hustlin' IS a good song. Imagine the reaction of Katt Williams being in GTA circa 2008.

I think IVs driving was better on paper, but in practice it kind of sucked.

I play with traffic density at max (yknow, for that REAL New York experience), and there were way too many times where I couldn't turn to a street because there was a car or two blocking the way and it was either hitting the car or hitting a pedestrian. It's also ripped off straight from Driver, a game which did this type of driving way better. I hope VI has a middle ground, taking the best from both.

2012 Dodge Chargers only made #9 on the new car list for that year.

Eitherway going to car shows in my cities, dindus love chagers.

Being involved with the Alderney Mob and the Mafia is one of the highlights in IV's story IMO. You get roped into the criminal underworld through drug pushers, small time crooks, corrupt politicians, the Mafia, right back into your former crew. Everything pieces together if you pay attention, even the littlest details. I actually wish there was MORE Mafia missions; Phil is a great person to have on your side.

You forgot to mention that it's PC port is one of the shittiest ports in all of gaming. You'd have to trudge through several guides that will lock you into 3 versions of the game depending on your choice of mods or whatnot: 1.0.4.0, 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0

This is a little tedious to initially set up, but I started playing GTA IV for the first time this year after following the stuff outlined in the following videos and it's been great. No need to worry about choosing a specific version.

DXVK apparently doesn't fix performance for everyone, but for the people who do see improvements it tends to be significant. Definitely worth trying.

DXVK really depends on the age of your components. Most people reporting massive performance gains usually will have a new-ish PC, and the GPUs that see the biggest peformance improvements is the Intel ARC series, and that's only because Intel shit the bed with most games that use earlier DirectX versions.

I'd recommend 1.0.8.0 since it's usually the best from what i've played. Get that with a few fixes (along with Console Visuals) and you're golden.
