Why are trannies hated by the rest of the LGBT community?

I honestly don't think most people have a problem with transgender people, assuming you don't live in Bumfuck, Idaho or are part of some fundie Christian cult. Most transgender people are totally fine, IME. It's the extremely vocal "EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE ABOUT MEEEE PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEE DRAG QUEENS ARE CULTURAL APPROPRIATORS AND YOU'RE TRANSPHOBIC IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH ME" minority that we deal with at the farms/see most often online by nature of their constant autistic screeching.

tl;dr the trannies that are part of the rat king are not a representative sample (thank god).

Drag queen TV shows are the closest thing you will get to lolcows on TV, even moreso than other dumb reality shows. The people on it are petulant children that dress like clowns, it's no surprise the trans community wants them gone. I mean, they actually act like 13 year old girls in the bodies of 25+ year old men...but they claim not to be trans. Really makes you think
I mean to be fair, everyone on reality TV is a petulant child.

In real life, I've found transgender people to actually look like the gender they want to appear as (no circus freaks barking about pronouns), and normal (or at least semi-conservative) do one of the following in order of how well they pass:

a) Don't notice
b) Assume they're just ugly but be polite enough not to say anything about it
c) Realize full well what they are and are probably weirded out/bemused but don't give them a hard time about it

In any case, an obvious transgender will not get nearly the negative knee-jerk reaction as a Muslim woman with her face covered would, at least the people I tend to be around.

I know a woman who's transgender is probably one of the most well adjusted, and normal people I've met in my life. It probably helps that she passes to the point that you don't know she's transgender until she tells you, and she doesn't make being transgendered the foundation of her entire personality.

Whenever someone on here (or anywhere else for that matter) says something overly generalized about trannies, I can't help but wonder how many trannies they personally know.

They're as diverse a group of human beings as anyone else. Plus it's not like we've never seen intolerant gays and lesbians before.

Then again, there is a very loud minority of entitled twitterlords doing their best to make them all look bad, so there's that too.

At the end of the day, I'd just be careful not to confuse any of the autogynopheliacs in the Ratkings section with someone who's genuinely trying to overcome their own gender disphoria.

:powerlevel: I have been deeply involved in tranny circles. I have tranny acquaintances (both MtT and FtT) and a tranny co-worker. I have also worked in a health clinic for women and MtTs.

They're fucking nuts. I've never encountered a stable, sane tranny.

Sorry this doesn't fit a nicer narrative but I was totally on board with trans ideology until I got to experience the community and it's constituents first hand.

Some of them may be nice enough individuals who aren't overtly malicious, but as a group I'd like the LGB to drop the T.

On that topic... I've heard for years that sexual orientation has no connection to gender identity. With that in mind, I find it odd that these two groups ally themselves so closely when their concerns aren't related.

Makes no difference to me, I don't fit any of those letters. Just saying, it objectively seems odd.

Same here fam. I've only interacted with about three transsexuals in my life, and they were all pretty fucked in the head.

It's not representative of the entirety, I'm aware, but I dunno. Doesn't seem like coincidence.

Maybe I've had better luck then.

The ones I've met have been in the general course of living as opposed to being in a health center (partly) dedicated to them. There are always a good number of nutters to be found in the various local university clubs and action groups. But I've had the pleasure of meeting dozens of normal broken callous cynics like me. I've even got a sibling transitioning, so I've got to see far more into that world than I'd ever imagined I would. But I guess it just varies. I don't doubt for a second that you had a totally negative experience. I do wonder however how much of that was because of it being a health clinic.

But one thing is certain: All the normal ones I've met are disgusted with the hordes of crazy ones making them look bad. I couldn't the frustration someone who's trying to fight an uphill battle for a modicum dignity and respect, only to have someone like Phil become the face of who you're trying to become.

As far as the whole LGBT thing goes, I always understood it to be a label for people who could be called "queer" in some way. I can't think of something more queer than chopping your dick off to force your physical identity match your inner self. It's all rather subjective though.

When the problem goes so far that your feel your body is what's wrong, it's hardly surprising that there's a whole heaping of bonus disorders

I wouldn't call it a "totally negative experience" because I'm always eager to get direct experience with members of actual populations. It helps keep a rounded viewpoint. But the bulk of my experience with trannies wasn't at the clinic. It is through being a queerbo myself and having tranny friends/acquaintances/coworkers/etc. over the years.

I would like to add that when I say 'they're nuts' there's no moral qualification attached. Schizophrenics are also nuts. But a key difference is this: well-adjusted schizos (and there are many, much more than there are well adjusted trannies) aren't stupidly insisting that we change our definition of 'lucid' to include psychotic symptoms. There is no pop-culture schizophrenic movement to destroy the "lucid-psychotic binary". On the contrary; schizos with good prognoses and happy, meaningful lives quickly accept that they are ill, take their medication and refuse to ruminate on or celebrate their aberrant thinking.

How does that differ from trannies? Hmmm....

And when I think "queer" I think "same sex attraction" or "multiple sex attraction", not "fetish". I reject 'political queerness'.

Seeing as though we're all sharing stories from the troon files..

The only tranny I know used to be a guy. He liked sports. He enjoyed going out for a beer with the lads. He was single, white and neat so he was suspected of being a homosexual. He lived with a girlfriend for a brief time and didn't really talk about his sexuality, so no one ever brought it up.

About five years ago, his friends were informed of an important update. He now enjoyed spending his weekends by heading into NYC while dressed as a woman and frequenting drag bars. Questions and concerns were requested, as he knew this was an unusual turn. The two I remember coming up most frequently were, "You're a faggot, right?" and, "Are you one of those tranny freaks now?" He answered the latter negatively - he saw trannies as something entirely separate from a drag queen. He was squirrelly about the former, as he had always been about his sexuality, even though everyone he knew suspected him of loving the cock.

Then two years ago, he goes full troon. No updates, aside from histrionics. I hit the sever button pretty quickly but from what I'm told, he went from your normal, professional closeted gay man to troon apocalypse, with a side trip to Ru Paul Boulevard. All Trump voters want him dead. His "people" are dying left and right. He's worried about Obamacare, so I'm guessing he's embraced the troon oath of poverty. I'm just going to assume he's turned to fat and gone bald as well.

Mental. Fucking. Illness.

This guy didn't experience a phantom cunt. He was a normal gay dude who dipped his toes into one too many scenes, made bad friends in those scenes who encouraged him to destroy his life.

The "T" has got to go, yes. But the fucking "Q" is what I blame the most. Queer isn't just a slur, it is fucking cancer.

On reflection @DoctorJimmyRay is a lot like the other transgender handmaidens I've encountered. They try to pass my professional experience off as "well those were just the MtT who came to the clinic."

If I had no professional, clinical experience then the transgender handmaidens would be whinging about me not having any professional experience. I get professional experience and suddenly I just have 'bad luck' with meeting trannies. Horseshit. I know trannies personally, professionally and academically: not one of them is sane or stable.

I have to toe the line at work, but I don't have to toe the line here:

They're fucking nuts. They need to be treated, not indulged.
