It is the same reason that stage magicians have respect while wiccans don't.
I don't actually laugh out loud when I read stuff online, but you did make me bark.

People really need to stop sperging every time you see a tranny
I mean to be fair, everyone on reality TV is a petulant child.Drag queen TV shows are the closest thing you will get to lolcows on TV, even moreso than other dumb reality shows. The people on it are petulant children that dress like clowns, it's no surprise the trans community wants them gone. I mean, they actually act like 13 year old girls in the bodies of 25+ year old men...but they claim not to be trans. Really makes you think
I honestly don't think most people have a problem with transgender people, assuming you don't live in Bumfuck, Idaho or are part of some fundie Christian cult. Most transgender people are totally fine, IME. It's the extremely vocal "EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE ABOUT MEEEE PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEE DRAG QUEENS ARE CULTURAL APPROPRIATORS AND YOU'RE TRANSPHOBIC IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH ME" minority that we deal with at the farms/see most often online by nature of their constant autistic screeching.
I know a woman who's transgender is probably one of the most well adjusted, and normal people I've met in my life. It probably helps that she passes to the point that you don't know she's transgender until she tells you, and she doesn't make being transgendered the foundation of her entire personality. In real life, I've found transgender people to actually look like the gender they want to appear as (no circus freaks barking about pronouns), and normal (or at least semi-conservative) do one of the following in order of how well they pass:
a) Don't notice
b) Assume they're just ugly but be polite enough not to say anything about it
c) Realize full well what they are and are probably weirded out/bemused but don't give them a hard time about it
In any case, an obvious transgender will not get nearly the negative knee-jerk reaction as a Muslim woman with her face covered would, at least the people I tend to be around.
Die Tranny.People really need to stop sperging every time you see a tranny
Whenever someone on here (or anywhere else for that matter) says something overly generalized about trannies, I can't help but wonder how many trannies they personally know.
They're as diverse a group of human beings as anyone else. Plus it's not like we've never seen intolerant gays and lesbians before.
Then again, there is a very loud minority of entitled twitterlords doing their best to make them all look bad, so there's that too.
At the end of the day, I'd just be careful not to confuse any of the autogynopheliacs in the Ratkings section with someone who's genuinely trying to overcome their own gender disphoria.
but as a group I'd like the LGB to drop the T.
Same here fam. I've only interacted with about three transsexuals in my life, and they were all pretty fucked in the head.:powerlevel: I have been deeply involved in tranny circles. I have tranny acquaintances (both MtT and FtT) and a tranny co-worker. I have also worked in a health clinic for women and MtTs.
They're fucking nuts. I've never encountered a stable, sane tranny.
Sorry this doesn't fit a nicer narrative but I was totally on board with trans ideology until I got to experience the community and it's constituents first hand.
Some of them may be nice enough individuals who aren't overtly malicious, but as a group I'd like the LGB to drop the T.

It's not representative of the entirety, I'm aware, but I dunno. Doesn't seem like coincidence.
Maybe I've had better luck then.
The ones I've met have been in the general course of living as opposed to being in a health center (partly) dedicated to them. There are always a good number of nutters to be found in the various local university clubs and action groups. But I've had the pleasure of meeting dozens of normal broken callous cynics like me. I've even got a sibling transitioning, so I've got to see far more into that world than I'd ever imagined I would. But I guess it just varies. I don't doubt for a second that you had a totally negative experience. I do wonder however how much of that was because of it being a health clinic.
But one thing is certain: All the normal ones I've met are disgusted with the hordes of crazy ones making them look bad. I couldn't the frustration someone who's trying to fight an uphill battle for a modicum dignity and respect, only to have someone like Phil become the face of who you're trying to become.
As far as the whole LGBT thing goes, I always understood it to be a label for people who could be called "queer" in some way. I can't think of something more queer than chopping your dick off to force your physical identity match your inner self. It's all rather subjective though.
