Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I haven’t seen anything stating or even implying as much, but I’d bet they intended for the opening of the game to feature more of V and Jackie hanging out doing gigs together but had to scrap it when they couldn’t get a passably working companion AI set up.

Is this damage control for the backlash over their Ubislop-style female/genderspecial only initiative?

Those kind of deals are long in the making. A corporation like CDPR can simultaneously cater to leftoid brainwasher niggercattle with waman-only initiatives, and male permavirgins with anime, thus maximizing exposure and potential financial gains.

New Cyberpunk anime announced by CDPR. Sucks we don’t have some multiplayer for 2077. Part of the Magic of the old tabletops was gaming with others. I hope Orion addresses this.
Considering HBS is kill I'd prefer someone take up the reigns and make a Shadowrun turn-based game. Make a competitor to Larian's bullshit.

Miss my schizophrenic seizure-induced time punching monk mage like you wouldn't believe, chum- err choom.

But I guess it's apt that the good one is chained up in the megacorp's basement never to be seen again :(

There is a tipping point though were the C-Suite swallows the bullshit and think “we’ve got too many mediocre white men in charge, lest just replace them with the loud wamen and the diversity hires!” then everything goes to shit.

The real losers (other than shareholders) at this point are the capable women who would have to work their way up like any other normal man as the shout waman and hires of colour will bully them out because they realise what a threat they are.

Harebrained Schemes isn't completely dead. They split off from Paradox this year, and just announced a new game called GRAFT which is funded by an Epic MegaGrant. I doubt they have enough remaining talent & resources to make another good Shadowrun game even if they could get their hands on the license again.

I think Microsoft owns the rights to the Shadowrun video games now, so they could have one of their studios make a new game. For a turn based game, they would probably have inXile or Obsidian do it since those studios have put out turn based games recently. I doubt Microsoft has plans to make another Shadowrun game. If they do I would bet they make another FPS similar to the 2007 game instead of a role playing game.

Please no. Not yet another multiplayer shooter game. We're beyond overloaded at this point, no matter the gimmick. Doom could use a competitor though, and last I heard the bug spirits were about to go on the rampage again thanks to someone at Ares eating idiot balls and deciding to fuck around with them. No reason we couldn't be the cleaner sent in. Or you could do a blech co-op shooter of a small team given that job. Or something like Cyberpunk or Deus Ex.

I would like a Shadowrun open world game given how popular cyberpunk (not the game but the genre) has recently become (see System Shock remake, Ghostrunner 1 and 2, Deus Ex HR & MD, the upcoming Bladerunner game, Informer, Defect (the first person online shooter), Vigilancer 2099, Neo-Berlin 2087, or even films/shows like Altered Carbon, Bladerunner 2049, or even Andor).

Shadowrun has a pretty long history of video games. I think since 1993-94 with the Sega Genesis (there was a Shadowrun game then) and a inferior SNES version. But a modern remake would be nice, as Shadowrun like Cyberpunk has its origins as a tabletop role playing game.

well they should've opened their fucking mouth thinking about the consequences, not ride the wave till it was suddenly inconvenient. same way there are probably a few non-pedo troons with real issues, but eventually they'll all get lumped together for not cleaning house when it was difficult.

stop, a proper deus-ex like shadowrun would make me cream my pants.

fuck, just thinking about it it would be exactly something teyon could pull off. most people probably have never heard of them, they did the terminator and robocop games which are apparently nice little AA games sticking close to the source material. otoh a proper shadowrun game would probably be a bit too expensive with all the assets alone. but actually, now thinking about it... if they make it something like first descendant in a shadowrun setting, that should could sell itself.

If some company's higher-ups demand a co-op shooter, you could absolutely get a Payday/Vermintide/Left 4 Dead style game in a Shadowrun setting if the dev team isn't retarded. I don't give a fuck if you team is a bunch of runners doing crime, runners getting set in to unfuck some CEO's mistake with angry spirits, or hell, even corpsec just doing your goddamned job and telling a street gang to kindly fuck off of company property with chrome and mind bullets.
Or, fuck it! Chase that Flavor of the Month and make it a roguelike/roguelite/procedural gen FPS dungeon crawl. "My employers have a certain situation we need remedied. Other applicants have proven insufficient so far, but we have been able to recover some vital information that might help you..."

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the funky set from the Black Sapphire party could be found as a radio station.
I loved the Black Sapphire’s music, and to find out that it was Elba’s was pretty cool.

Is it weird I liked Dogtown a lot? The orange gritty dystopia, the massive football stadium & black market or that biome location where you battle that rogue Soviet agent? Or better yet the political and cultural themes presented such as political intrigue with Mr. Hands machinations or the illicit sports industry?

PL is superior to the base cyberpunk game. All can be accredited to Gabriel Amatangelo who directed PL’s direction and narrative. Feels like a game within a game.
