Silent Hill

Technically already a thing with the pizzabox pyramid head & dog masks. Only available for people that preordered/buy the deluxe edition for now.
RE4R and DRDR did the same thing, so we should expect more of this in the future
I would be surprised if Konami didn't release a pachinko machine to celebrate their raping of yet another cult classic title.
RE2 remake was better. We had classic outfits free and a model viewer, then the survivor modes.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, that game tried to be "cinematic" and placed yellow paint everywhere. It was an interesting new take on RE2 but not really a definitive experience.

Born from a wish was cut. They're pulling an RE4 demake where they cut a bonus campaign that's been in the game for 20 years because it wasn't in the game when it launched.

Niggercattle consoomers will lap up content getting cut and resold as DLC. Same thing happened with Separate Ways.
That's true. It tends to slip my mind because I thought it was dogshit in the original and I only did it once.

But, with that said it should've been in there regardless of my opinion on it.

I didn't call it a definitive experience though now did I you fucking lunatic jackass. I just point out its a lot more fun to replay than SH2, has better combat, the zombie gore is top notch even if a bit spongy, I liked it. It was good, coming off the heels of RE7 it was pretty great. It would have been better if they kept the B side differences and all enemies. Just because you hate it doesn't change my enjoyment of it compared to RE3, re8, re4 when it came out.

I know there's a lot of well deserved suspicion surrounding this remake, I think it's pretty bloody good, aurally especially, some of the best work is there.

The voice acting is surprising in its quality...one thing i appreciate is the more or less totally changed puzzles...thats what re4 remake should've done, that was lazier than this imo.

It's not woke at all and i cant really see what was modernaudienceified about it, my advice would be to wait for a mild sale then get it.
You sound mad about something, literally the only big change is Angelas appearance that could be described as bad (woke), but the new voice is probably what informed that change.

I don't know people, what did you want, just literally the same game again?

I'm the first person to hate disrepecting the source material, but I don't think thats the case here, I think some people painted themselves into a corner with their attitude regarding this game, and rather than admit you may have been slightly wrong you're doubling down like bunch of bluehairs.

I'm going to say something else you can laugh your arse off at, I think the combat is way more fun in this than the original, always close to death on hard, nice tense gameplay.

Not a big fan of the Leonification of James however, his hair looks out of place, it's hardly massive problem though, again it was probably an attempt to marry the VO to the face.
For "people" who claim to hate woke shit, you types sure do go out of your way to find a lot of it. I would not have even heard of Concord if it wasn't for you retards giving that shit free advertising and letting it live rent free in your heads.

How dare you like something everyone else on here hates, fucking niggercattle retards. You should be doomering over how shit everything is. Enjoy nothing. Hate everything.

I just don't understand why every woman looks like they have overdosed on cheeseburgers and they have the fat moon face.
It kind of works with Angela, because it's not uncommon for molested women to intentionally make themselves unattractive, to dissuade potential predators. This is not the biggest problem, the biggest problems are: that this exists, that it doesn't include "Born from a wish" and that you don't get the original with your purchase.

Just making the combat functional would be an improvement. Everything else will piss off both sides as you state because the game was basically The Lord of the Flies featuring child abuse, rape and lesbians
So what you're saying is, the SIGNALIS fandom will be all over it?

now I have even more reasons to like this guy. (Ha, no pun intended)

It’s not as woke as I thought it would be, but the women are still butt fucking ugly.

I was never a SH2 fan (I prefered SH1) but it's one of those games where every frame is considered a masterpiece. My go to example is how there was a lengthy section in one essay about Mary's clothes suggesting innocence and purity, only for it to later be revealed to be a Con Air reference. The point of that is, for a game who's fanbase that says sound, graphic, asset, and item was deliberately and perfectly placed, that baka gaijin is too stupid to understand it, seeing them cheer when baka gaigin takes a sledge hammer to their most sacred game is baffling.
Playing it I understand why.
The gameplay is a massive improvement - like a MASSIVE improvement, and like everyone said it's more of a RE4Make diguised as SH2 if anything.

The thing is.
The endings are VERY very shit. Even the dog ending.
There's also the nuances gone too, Harry doesn't feel like someone with PTSD and the otherworld no longer feels like it reflects his thoughts or even his abusive behavior towards Mary anymore.

It's just le horror without the hidden meaning or any actual psychological shit brought into account - or even the shadow tricks to make people look horrifying, which is fine for people that actually know the meaning I guess?

Harry was already done dirty in Shattered Memories sir.
Oh shid I meant James. FUCK.
I have SH1 in the brain while playing SH2 I don't fucking know why.
Maybe the wowness of a Silent Hill game where you don't move like a concrete block is wearing off on me and now I'm just thinking about other games now.

Like I want to pay attention, maybe instead of the deep bullshit in SH2 there's some OTHER nuance in here. But goddamn dude.

The original was catching lightning in a bottle (that corridor scene is probably one of the best in history of gaming, with how it organically checks if you actually care by making the corridor shorter than the monologue you listen to).
The remake is putting a live wire in a bottle and pretending it's the same thing.

Played some more.

During the closet scene, PH was more twitchy and aware of James being there. I don't like the twitchiness, but my friend said there isn't anything inherently wrong with PH being a different kind of scary than he was in the original, which he was more slow and in pain, and unaware of James's presence. He is right, but the twitchiness didn't scare me.

The Angela scene was .... the voice acting was terrible. She sounded like she woke up from a nap. James was emotionless as ever. Watching the scene though itself, minus the voice acting, carried similar depressive emotions like the original did. I liked how the knife looks.

Maria, looks good. Her eyeshadow and added freckles were a nice touch. She sounded okay when talking normal but anything with emotion was monotone, flat, and lazy sounding like Angela. I wish the VA carried more emotion behind their voices! The interactions she has with James is nice too. I know most here don't like the added commentary but I do. I laughed when I was in Heaven's Night, on the stage, and she said "You gonna dance for me big guy?"

They added a lot of detail to the scenery which I love, because I am one of those super-autists that love looking and wandering in the backgrounds to see what was added. They put in a lot of effort in and it shows.

Why is Eddie permanently sweaty? Every time he's in the shot he looks like he ran a marathon. I get he is supposed to be conventionly unattractive but that was a little much, ain't it? Maybe that's just me. I like how you can see Eddie getting angry at James during the movie theatre. But I am so hurt they didn't add the famous quote, "How can you sit there and eat pizza?!" Come on man.

Nurses could've looked scarier. I like the change with the bosses you fight in the scene where Laura locks you in. Laura looks adorable.

I think it is starting to pick up to be better, but I am still sad because it doesn't feel like I am playing a Silent Hill game. It feels like a different game, it's not bad, but it's definitely not Silent Hill. I don't know if it is because of the voice acting, I'm a bitter boomer and a Kiwifarmer, I don't know. I am greatly disappointed in PH. He reminds me of the movie version which I hate.

Sounds pretty based to me. I stand with Cihi.

Picking SH2 to remake was a fool's errand. The game is a very specific product of its time, hardware, and circumstances. The performances alone were so heavily influenced by the choices of VA for the original game, this remake feels significantly worse.

They should have just made SH1 Remake or a new game.

It emulates really well on PCSX2 these days, there's pretty much no reason not to try it at this point.

Oh you don't know the half of it.
The evil thats taking place in the castle is specifically described as jewish kabbalah mysticism. Right down to the alchemical crafting system being done with a Sefirot diagram and the basement having actual Golem that are controlled by marking them with hebrew letters.

The monsters are:

A degenerate retard (Literally called "retard" in latin) who thinks the main character is a straw doll and wants to roughly play with her until he dismembers her.

A bitter fake woman who envies the heroine's ownership of a functioning womb, and wants to carve it out of her with a jagged shard of mirror glass.

The heroine's uncle who wants to impregnate her, and is willing to blast out both her kneecaps with a revolver to expedite this process.

The family's ancient kike patriarch who wants to harvest the living life force (Azoth) from her ovaries.

The entire story is built on top of what the ADL would describe as "Hateful Blood Libel Myths", or what even modern Kabbalah observers would describe as "Based".
Not to "um actually" you but

Daniella's actually been confirmed to have been human, albeit an infertile one. Lorenzo kidnapped her at a young age, brainwashed her and experimented on her so much that she ended up believing he created her. Which makes her character even more tragic. Also Fiona's Azoth is implied to be in her uterus, not her ovaries, hence why both Daniella and Riccardo want it.

But yes, Haunting Ground is an underrated gem of a game and one of my all-time favorites. I've been wanting to play it again lately and still own my PS2 copy. A remake would be an utter disaster, same with Rule of Rose. Just port them please.

To actually go back on topic, though, I'm still watching a playthrough (player is at the hospital now) and still don't think the remake is anything special. I actually like the idle dialogue they've given Maria and the new cutscenes that flesh her out a bit more, and her VA is capable of sounding decent, but Bloober leaned so hard into her seductress motif that it's painfully unsubtle. Also hate that they completely removed the famous pizza line with Eddie.

I've only seen Dunkey's video on it so far and why are the mannequins hiding? There's no reason for that. I hate how the apartment units are so open feeling. And I see Bloober didn't do their due diligence and book a trip to a small American town, why do intersections with traffic lights say stop on the road?

Angela has bulimia face.
