I'm late as fuck because I never got the new post notifications
Let's all list our hobbies then, I'd love to read about them
A couple of mine:
-sewing
- historical sewing
-repairing antique sewing machines
- horse riding (I want to learn more about the art of dressage)
I'd love to know more about sewing, especially if you have anything you'd like to share!
For me it's reading, restoring furniture, piano, and certain studying topics (especially mechanical engineering and language). I'd love to hunt more, but I hit my limit every year as it is. I also collect dolls, to the displeasure of my wallet. I used to be very much into calligraphy, and I can still do a little bit (mostly cursive) but I doubt I could do it like I used to.
I will say that piano has been great for making friends! When I was still in school I eventually started playing outside of the soundproof practice rooms, sometimes people would stop and listen and a few of them would come up to me and excitedly discuss the piece or the composer, or we'd take turns playing. There were a few ladies who would split the piano with me where one of us would play the upper range and the other would play the lower, or sometimes we'd do stupid things like alternating measures. I still talk to a few of them!
I've been told some of my hobbies are a bit mannish (especially gun stuff and engineering) but I'm honestly not bothered much by it anymore. I enjoy them and some of them serve me pretty well, so I'm happy.
i also want to learn how to play the lute, as i think its a beautiful historical instrument.
Lutes are some of the most beautiful sounds, do you have a specific kind you're most interested in? I've never seen anybody learn the Italian variety before which is really unfortunate, so if that's your preference then you'll be one of the few to keep the tradition alive!
i've been putting off playing sims4 again only because i don't want to have to do the week long slog of redownloading all my mods to make the game less boring :/ i have over 100 hours in game, but i genuinely just love making the characters and building them pretty houses lol
Same!! I honestly liked 3 better for building houses but 4 has much better range for the character creator.
What mods did you usually use? Do you still have your list?
Considering hand crafting was mentioned, despite this being an uplifting thread - is anyone else here into painting minis? (Like for DND / Pathfinder / Starfinder what have you). Or into making leatherworks? I always feel I'm really missing out on people as into crafting as I am.
I used to be more into it but I defer to
@isalaide as the resident expert on miniatures!
