Remember that Nick's father testified under oath that he had not seen Nick abusing alcohol, despite his son making a career out of being drunk on camera, and despite being on his livestream more than once while Nick was lit. Far from being a sober coach, Nick's father is an enabler.

Sure, they lied to protect him. Parents of drug addicts do it all the time. Nick, using his legal expertise, convinced them even a sliver of an acknowledgment that he might have a substance use problem would result in ruining his “career”, endanger his law license and get his kids removed.

He told them he’s got no problem, I mean maybe he needs to drink less, but it’s better to handle this privately than have the govt breathing down your neck.

It’s great for Nick, but sucks for his parents. Now they get to do the job of social workers and drug counselors for their baby boy and his wives.

This is almost always how it plays out when an addict first gets busted. It’s only after repeated arrests or domestic disputes does the family start cooperating with the courts because they realize protecting them from consequences didn’t help matters just prolonged the bullshit.
