Warhammer 40k

Girls just seem to dig the creature vibes, and are likely less enamoured with endless gunmetal and dirty tank treads.
They're also a good canvas for weird colour schemes, and the faction is "thematically" feminine, being led by "Norn Queens", and essentially having a constant focus on rampant consumption and production, which seems to be reflective of the jungian "devouring mother" archetype; literally when tyranid bioforms are recycled back into biomass before the fleet moves on.
Girls who get involved are more likely to be on the collecting and painting than play side of the hobby, so it really is going to be about the appeal of the faction's aesthetic, rather than anything to do with the game itself.
The one chick I know who paints miniatures has an Idoneth Deepkin army; lots of sea creatures and pastel colours, plentiful organic textures to paint, and loads of colour options, which I would say maps roughly to my theories.
What sorts of factions were you likely to see girls collect in Fantasy?
Wood elves spring to mind, which is thematically very different to Nids, but has many of the same qualities of providing plentiful monsters, organic surfaces textures, and opportunities to experiment with colour, using a whole natural woodland and floral palette.
An army of knights might be colourful, but there's always an awful lot of drybrushing steel involved, and knights tend to "gallantly" slay the sort of horrible majestic rippling organic beasties that girls seem to favour.
Makes me look askance at all these princesses who keep getting "kidnapped" by dragons.
Men want the power fantasy and 40k has plenty on offer.

Women want something different and youre completely right about it. The missus used to play orcs and its because she loved how fun, cute and goofy they were. The other woman I know who collects models is Nids.

Looking on the GW website and most of the christmas boxes are still available including the Mechanicum battle box for Horus Heresy. I wonder if they over printed the product based on all of the shit they used to get because of scalping, limited edition boxes and LGS availability, although it's a shame they didn't make extra Dark Angels and Imperial Knight boxes considering how popular they were.

Do you really need a lesson how tokenism works? After all the stuff that's happened.
Sad thing is, it's not mere tokenism; this is actually these people "trying".
The problem isn't that there is a woman on my screen.
The problem is that the women they put on my screen are not the kind I would voluntarily look at or listen to.

wtf? I didn't post that.

No romance in 40k is as wholesome as Telemachon falling head over heels for another man’s waifu (and scoring) which it’s really telling that ADB’s OC donut steel gets cucked.

It’s always cuckery.
ADB has always been a faggot. He's the writer that shoehorned the Emperor being an apathetic autist when raising the Primarchs. He also for some reason hates the idea of loyalist Space Marines decended from Traitor stock and tried to claim it is non cannon despite the Minotaurs chapter being explicitly Iron Warriors according to the Forgeworld writers and the implied origins of the Blood Ravens and Carcaodons. I hate his work and can't stand his implications that he is the definitive lore wirter to be frank. That Dark elf waifu shit was so gay.

Moving on when do the Plastic Death Korps models hit presale? It's been almost 6 years since playing the game and I'm tempted to pull the trigger on the new Guard focus, but the current Warhammer site doesn't seem to have any details.

They haven't given a release date for them yet, only that they're coming "soon". I'm hoping for a Q1 release.

Join the line exodites have been waiting forever.

Culture warriors are faggots that dont paint models or read books.
???
What did he mean by this?
If you use your time efficiently, you should be able to call people gay on the internet while waiting for your most recent application to dry.

And Black Library novels don't count as books as such; they're superhero comics without pictures.
Maybe like, Barrington Bailey's "Eye of Terror" was aight, but overall, BL sloppa is leagues behind the short stories they used to print in like, White Dwarf and that.

and morathis wings are atleast plastic

i shudder to think how ones supposed to play with the resin fulgrim, let alone move the thing anywhere without his resin wings shattering.

If you're buying wargaming supplements to wank off to, I can see why that might be a concern, but there's literally three whole factions that consist of distilled fetish material already.
Don't make me use the coom broom.

Besides, the women they shoehorn in aren't even hot.
They're all hatchet-faced one-eyed lesbians with boy hair.
Which is what I thought cool girls were like when I was in my "Chasing my friends with poo on a stick" developmental stage.
And mutilated masculinized women front and center all the time, acting out a strangled parody of masculinity to prove that they are "manlier than the men" just seems like a feeble and badly couched attempted repudiation of *actual* femininity.
Like the mirror version of the emasculated male cutouts that populate girl-centric media.
maybe 4 ( if not already counting Daughters of Khaine from AOS lol)

Circumstances can change. It's not a setting in our Current Year time of unprecedented peace and plenty where stronk girlbosses get promoted so nobody calls us sexist. The chick next to you in the foxhole won't be one of Emma's Two Moms, it'll be Jill Valentine.

A Stalingrad Do-Or-Die is the norm in M41. Women will be put on the front lines because the Imperium needs any able body who can point a gun in the general direction of anything trying to kill you.
Thing is, if you extend this attitude across a vast space and perpetuate it for ten thousand plus years, what you have is a recipie for precipitous population decline, aka, societal death.
Which falls into this weird category of phenomena where it creates internal canon grimderp, in the name of extrinsic "inclusivity", which if, of course, a false god.

As an aside there's the adage that Spartans didn't build grave markers for the dead, unless they were a man who died in battle, or a woman who died in childbirth.

The most warlike civilizations in history wanted their women making more warriors, not getting shot in a foxhole and dying childless.
Simple fact is, men aren't put out of action for nine months every time they wanna make more people.

Suspension of disbelief test: failed.

I don't think that really applies to the Imperium though since you have to remember that the vast majority of Imperial words aren't on the front lines and just go along shipping off men and materiel to the places that do need it.

I'm afraid the same rationale also applies to an industrial workforce.
Take the modern West for example; inducting women into the labour force en masse is one of the larger factors that has led to our loss of replacement birth rates.
For a machine hell-bent on optimizing it's capacity for industry and war, optimizing sex roles is the only way to perpetuate a cycle that necessitates a constant loss of human life, short of using some scifi contrivance to handwave away human biology.
Even if disregarding essentially biologically ingrained sex roles makes for a larger short term conscription, the end result is that over these thousand-year spanning space wars, your front line manpower reserve gets worn down to nothing, because you have gotten all your women killed marching them over a minefield to clear a path for the tanks.
That and call me a curmudgeon, but without the degree of distance that a woman being an actual space-alien of another species, or an indoctrinated religious fanatic operating under a contrived set of restrictions, and heavily compensated by being overequipped, and absurdly strict, putting "normal women" on the battlefield, doesn't look heroic or cool.
It looks desperate, sad, lame and contrived.
Normal men are expected to fight, and if need be, die.
When the women are expected to do the same, then it's a sign of immanent failure, preceding rape and despoilment.

You can't have a "clean" war with normal women on the battlefield.
And it ruins the aesthetics of a game, because you can either ignore the woman-ness of the woman, thus at best getting an incongruous "Ellen Ripley" which is fine in moderation, but becomes weird when every other women is Ripley, or you can play on it for drama, which isn't what we're here for.
We're here to kitbash trukks, and make little plastic blokes die, not explore social justice issues through the lens of a game of plastic soldiers set in a fictional setting that is a shitty place on purpose, for the facilitation of imaginary pitched battles.

At my LGS Frostgrave kits sold like hotcakes; everybody loved them for kitbash fodder, or for the game itself.
But long after all the male kits were sold, and to this day, there's still an unsold pile of woman warriors gathering dust on a shelf.

The battlefield is no place for a normal woman, and every normal man knows it's his job to keep them as far away from one as possible.

You're trying to apply socio-economic theory to 40k. It won't work with most IPs, but 40k? Which since it's creation has been inconsistent as shit about everything, and written by authors that apply numbers of troops to being involved in full planetary warfare, that don't even add up to single battles in ww1 or ww2 at times, and you want to focus on hypothetical birth rates for a setting that can't even be consistent with its currency? Or anything resembling trade between planets and how it makes little sense to even be able to supply goods for warfare let alone general living? That at times has discussed guilds of hive scum mining piles of discarded parchment?
