Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Blackrock supported companies with DEI, I won't argue it. But people talk as if the entirety of woke in gaming is carried by Blackrock. As if you don't have a ton of developers drinking the kool aid of fans who will buy anything.
that's just the end result of subversion. if you chased out every competent dev and more importantly anyone else who might not 110% agrees with everything and coddles you, of course you end up with a trashheap where the inmates run the asylum. no company can work like that, let alone one where a certain amount of creativity and refinement is required. ubisoft did go in balls deep tho for some tax benefit laundering, became retarded in the process and then it became self-sustaining. since they own all their studios they couldn't just outsource a project to a somewhat competent 3rd party, their only option was another department just as pozzed somewhere else.

also fans don't buy everything, they didn't for star wars, they didn't for marvel capeshit after endgame, nor any of the recent woke games that have been in development for years.

The issue with mainly blaming Blackrock is that the decline was pretty much universal across all western media even before woke became mainstream. And you have a ton of examples on this site of previously talented people just going insane from TDS and ruining their own legacy. Thus you have a simultaneous case of both the old guard going insane and having a new generation of crazy people, especially now that game programming is very light on programming part, and companies like Ubisoft literally flowchart everything.

And even without the woke aspects so much of the content is unplayable trash it's a full on devolution.

I think R6: Extraction was made before Skull and Bones was even in production. Funny thing is that Skull and Bones could've been excused as a Black Flag copy with online multiplayer and it would've sold decently. (Actually, it started life AS a Black Flag spinoff.) The ONE time Ubisoft could've been excused for copy/paste, they don't do it. I say that because R6: Extraction is just an asset flip of Siege.

You sure about that? Skull and Bones was in development hell since 2013 or so, costing almost 200 million because Ubisoft couldn't abandon it due to the deal they signed with Singapore for grant money.

and the decline would've resolved itself in time because old retards get replaced and studios that create a product that doesn't sell goes under. instead a lot of them are propped up by grants, funds and investments directly linked to blackrock and it's ESG initiative. something like dustborn would never exist if there weren't enough leftist bureaucrats giving them the free money for it.

just like "the game didn't fail because of woke" it's a major contributing factor, and without it the discussion wouldn't happen anyway (either because there would be no game in the first place, or no flop because it's message first and entertaining game far second).

Dustborn was funded primarily by government grants so it's not really an example of Blackrock (as government media is infamously left biased). Video game sales themselves only started to plummet hard post COVID due to Bidenomics, beforehand games with woke elements sold plenty (and some still do well).

The amount of ESG money to prop up gaming in itself is ludicrous if it was true. Games still cost way too much to produce with insane studio bloat. The amount of people working on AssCreed is probably ten times the original team but make a worse game.

name them then

because ESG money doesn't just prop up gaming.
that's like saying "well soros only pays for DA elections, that won't affect the police..."

name them then
Hogwarts Legacy, AssCreed Vikangz, Spiderman 2, Starfield, God of War.
Probably some more if I looked besides the AAA sphere into the cesspool of indie.

But you said without the money the market would have spoken for itself and companies making those games would go under, which pretty much is propping the market.

It's literally all I wanted, wouldn't even mind keeping the "outdated" graphics. All they had to do was the following:
  • More boats to pick from an the option to hijack them (like in Sid Meier's Pirates!)
  • Coop
  • Bigger or at least multiple maps
  • Boat & crew finance system like Sid Meier's Pirates! (optional for the player)
That's it!

Ghost Recon Wildlands
and Breakpoint have the mechanics of a great battle royale mode and Ubisoft really fucked up business wise by not reusing the games back in 2019/2020 to add a mode during the BR craze. I know it's not easy to just "add 96 players" to a 4 player game, but on one hand it's all they had to do and all the other major companies figured it out. But fine, they are retarded. But how about a nice PvE (or PvPvE) looter shooter (a third person stealth/run and gun Escape from Tarkov), well... we got The Division, an XP grider snoozefest. All Ubisoft had to do was to NOT add retarded XP grinding an enemies that are bullet sponges. I have never seen such a waste of potential from a game company fucking it up, twice. I'm now looking at Helldivers 2 and seeing a decent horde shooter printing money basically and wondering... just reuse Wildlands or Breakpoint retards. Now it's the third time Ubisoft is missing out on the market because they are too fucking dumb to see what people playing and reuse their games! Ubisoft are the kings of just reusing their own games to make yearly slop and yet they can't do a little tweaking to reach new markets... and then they wonder why they are losing money.

It's beyond be how all a studio with a good engine and capacity to create a really good game, only to ditch it for retarded shit. With the nigger simulator AC Shadows I'm starting to wonder it there is corporate sabotaging involved (assuming it's not purposeful demoralization against the Japanese people).

Oh no, they're missing their niggo "history" month window. It would be a shame if twitter trannies took great offense at this contrivance.
Avowed is probably going to mid but Monster Hunter Wilds and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will probably have some legs on them.
Didn't MH Wilds have like 600k concurrents on its beta? That game is gonna sell like gangbusters.

I guess the real question are we gotta see a total buyout or a piece by piece IP buyout.
I hope the IPs go up for auction and someone who played Ghost Recon in the 90s restarts Red Storm. There are not enough rainbows in the world for this one.

What will probably happen is tencent or someone equally terrible buys the company and their grubby little fingers just make things worse.
