What would you use your $5000 on, hypothetically? Anybody could answer this.

It will be going to guns and alcohol like last time. I wish you MAGA niggers learned the fault in handing tax payer money to niggers and letting it burn. Inflation is about to skyrocket. You took the money recovered from government waste and set it on fire instead of putting it to more productive means.
Looks like we got us one of them chuds that finally got tired of winning. Stick 'im in the burger suit, boys.

Assuming one is already somewhat stable and socking away money into savings already, I'd take the 5,000 and put it in QQQ, VOO, SPYI, SCHD, and/or QQQM. Pretend it doesn't exist and let it sit for about ten years and make more money than I'd ever make letting it sit in a savings account. Putting it into a Roth wouldn't be bad either as I saw another Kiwi say.
Keep your money up, Kiwis

Do any of you idiots know what a stick and carrot actually is? You put the carrot on a stick like bait on a fishing rod, it isn't you fucking beating someone with it.

This is a carrot on a stick, not that stupid butchering of the statement Obama did

Do you, you silly fuck, it's been a phrase since at least ww2. It's just a common statement referring to rewards vs punishments. Thanks for running in, stomping your little feets and declaring "WELL ACTUALLY".. and getting it wrong.

This page is dedicated to the brave troops who fought in the War of 1812 that Elon Musk and Doge are now working to deny their social security benefits that they are currently collecting.

Absolutely disgusting how those Nazis are trying to deny Andrew Jackson's veterans their due. Probably just because he was a Democrat!

We were. The entire western world went out of its way to normalise relations with Russia all through the 90s and early 2000s, with the intent of increasing economic integration and cooperation, in order to help bring Russia up out of the doldrums created by the collapse of the soviet union. The US sought a full trade relationship with Russia and wanted to increase military and trade coordination. European leaders assumed Russia would want to trade on fair terms for mutual benefit and pursued a policy of wide economic integration.

Russia, under Putin, used that growing economic integration as a tool to divide Europe against itself, subtly or not-so-subtly using its stranglehold on European gas and oil supplies to manipulate EU governments. Particularly germany. In this way it neutered any possibility of a coherent response to his invasions of Georgia and Chechnya, and in the process reverted to its cold war isolationism and belligerence toward the west. Trump himself warned the leaders of Europe about a repeat this same thing in the run-up to the Ukraine invasion, but they were still caught up in the belief that trade would eventually bring Russia back to the table.

This idea that Russia has been unjustly isolated since the 90s is bunk; Russia put itself in this position.

I gave you a disagree not because you are wrong about Putin and the way he went into using trade to fuck with Europe, but because of the claim that the 1990s economic integration was in any way used to "help" Russia.

The 1990s saw Russia be virtually looted from top to bottom by the new class of oligarchs under Yeltsin's "shock therapy capitalism" which lead to a massive fucking collapse of both quality of life and median income. Yeltsin then shat all over the constitution with his dissolution of the parliment in 1993 which was against the constitution of the New Russia, and the West backed him all the way and didn't give a shit about it. This pretty much told Russians that the new boss was exactly the same as the old boss and that all the talk of "Democracy" was a lie.

The rest of the 1990s continued as a humiliation conga for Russia, while western interests would come in and a slice of the pie for cheap from the oligarchs that Yeltsin created and let run amok. This is why Putin eventually took over and why there is revanchism going on in Russia. To them the 1990s saw they make a honest attempt at this "Western Liberalism" thing only for it to immediately collapse and their "new friends" to give 0 shits about it.

This has to do with the fact that people don't adjust their lifestyle like they should to account for the actual savings that they can provide.
Late reply due to work.

I argue against this a bit. As there's plenty of retards who tend to "Diet coke offset their double quarter pounder" in their life a lot, but there's been little if any tangible benefit for the people who don't live like that as well. Utility companies tend to be ribald crooks in a lot of cases and the BBB is basically constantly ranking them as 2 star at best operations from the sheer volume of negativity they get as a rule.

I'm personally a penny pinching MFer who turns the breakers and power strips off when not in active use, know that some appliances eat as much power plugged in as they do when fully on, and I've seen zero returns or savings except keeping the same utility cost as before they cranked the rates up to account for the assumed efficiency. When the local polls hit of X or Y households have X or Y percentage of LED lighting and tankless water heaters in the area. So they can continue to skim off the top.

I'm not throwing a hot tub party with 100 lights on to celebrate saving money, even though that sounds kinda fun. IMO It's just more examples of them offsetting the perceived burden of the power grid and the environment onto the people and the people's habits in some bullshit greenwashing profiteer push.

You are right that corruption has a large part, it almost never hasn't been a factor. But they are more proactive in their business than the average joe that wants to save 4c on a power bill. The law and economy work for them automatically compared to making lifestyle changes. Their is an actual mathematical benefit but you have a narrow window to actually harness it and one misstep can ruin it entirely and you have to start over. It's not something people are going to want to keep on-top of unless it happens by principal automatically.

I would like grocery prices to go down. I thought that’s what I voted for.
It’s all economics 101, nigga.

Black people spend nonstop money on shitty guns and booze. That flows into circulation, rice and bean prices go down because more liquid is flying around, smith and westen stock continues to decline.

It’s like lion king, bro.

Ok I got to call out the populist Trump types here and ask some questions.

1: You say that Elon's comment about giving every American 5000 dollars would not cause inflation and would not be a big deal, but republicans kept saying how the war in Ukraine was costing America to much money even though giving every American 5000 would cost more then America has spent on Ukraine the entire war.

2: How does America giving up on Ukraine benefit America ? ?Ukraine talked about a 500 billion dollar mineral deal meanwhile giving up would on America nothing and make all the previous money spent a waste.

3: Be honest why do you hate European countries so much ? The majority of Americans are European and even if you are not as an American Europe is your spiritual motherland. If you want to be able to keep up with China at a time when China is making inroads with other countries for deals you can't alienate your base, if you want to support Israel (I don't know why you would but the majority of Trump voters do) then you shouldn't alienate Europe t a time when more and more are getting stick of Israel and recognizing Palestinian state hood.
I get this is bait but

1 the $5000 is already existing money and we wouldn't print now money

2 A hypothetical deal doesn't help the US.

3. This isn't going to help China and I have no connection to Europe. Just because my ancestors traveled from there decades or centuries ago doesn't mean I have an attachment to retards in th old country. Euros need to accept that Americans were and are a different breed from them
