Mega Rad Gun Thread

I've got a dumb question about Sig P320 models. The P320 X Full is listed as weighing 29.6oz. A P320 X5 with polymer grip module is listed at 35.6oz. Does the 0.3 inches of barrel and the magwell really add that much weight? It's a seemingly pointless middle ground between the standard P320 and the Legion.

Alright another fun questions for kiwis whats your favorite AR-alternative? I recently decided to drop some cash on a new mini 14 and excited to pimp it out sucks the stainless models run an extra 200 more from an already steep price tag any bullpup fans?
I love bullpuppers. As far as a Mini 14 goes, look into retorquing the gas block screws and installing a smaller diameter gas bushing to tame the action. Mini's come disgustingly over gassed for no good fucking reason, retorquing the gas block to (if I remember correctly) 35 ftlbs helps accuracy. The trigger is fine out of the box but the rear sight is dogshit. For as much as the base rifle costs expect to sink another $200 or so to make it shootable to a modern standard. No idea why Ruger continues to fuck up what should be a fun tiny M1 Garand. Also the Muzzlelite bullpup kits fucking suck, buy one for the meme but don't pretend it will be anything more.

How do you have the M249s but also have a fin grip
You could buy semi auto M249s directly from FN up until a year or two ago. Cost $8000-10000 iirc.

Looks like they still sell them?

It has begun.
Only need the pump for my ECM setup.
Soon.
Pro tip, print the frame upside down. Only supports that will be needed are for the trigger guard so much faster print times.

Bubba is proud.
oof. the correct way to do this sort of thing by hand is ink out the pattern with machinist's blue and scribe with an awl, and work knowing that each line is the peak of a serration. then work inwards an even amount for the length of the pattern. in a vise, file with a checking file or a triangular needle file - 25 lines per inch is typical (0.40" or 17.5 degree pitch, i've used https://www.amazon.com/Grobet-USA-Checkering-Pillar-lines/dp/B08PSLJFLH before on some custom slides and it works good).

trace the marks lightly removing material with each pass and ensure you are completing passes and not letting up early. a handy brush helps remove swarf to avoid chatter or gouging. once you have something that's deep enough, you can bulk remove material to a depth equal to 1/2 the spacing between peaks. it is time consuming and annoying but not difficult if you're patient and take breaks to avoid cramps or shakes. to keep things square, after the first serration is cut, i use a piece of plate clamped square to the cut to the slide as a guide for all following serrations. a needle file can clean things up if needed, re-finish as required.

i just bought a full size IPSC ar500 target. cost like 300 dollars but it'll never wear out.

I definitely want to get into steel targets sometime soon. I think it would be a lot more fun to have some steel targets and just take them out onto BLM land whenever I want to go shooting than it would be to go punch paper at a regular range.

Look at this pile of shit:

Bubba done destroyed a beautiful Ruger no.1. Absolute hack stippling job, shitty engraved ruger eagle (only one side too, so its unbalanced) nigger rigged tang sight, and high polished grip cap and fore-end iron. and the fore-end has been sanded into a weird shape.

Seller wants 1,450 for this shit. Only thing worth saving on this disaster of a rifle is the action and barrel, and only if that fugly engraving can be ground out without harming the structural integrity of the action. Fuck, it hurts me to look at it.

is that a KAC rear sight? fuck me, i've been spending like twenty minutes trying to parse how to ask KF if it's worth getting into gunsmithing without PLing but maybe i'm overthinking it.
