The Elder Scrolls

To be fair, Skyrim is a land of knuckledragging retards. Of course you'd take an applicant being able to cast a fireball.
I didn't get in on my very first playthrough because she demanded I summon a fire atronach and my approach to magic was that of Mr. Bean, only later did I find out you could cheat your way in with a scroll containing the spell.

What other race stereotypes are in the lore? So far I've seen argonians being refered to as farming equipment the most
Dunmer women are whores.
Altmer fuck goblins.
Orcs are made of literal shit.
In general, your old pal Valen Dreth gives a pretty nice summary of what the player's race is perceived as, with possible additional comments depending on the chosen sex.

For all of 5 seconds. It's gone now. Well, that or it's hidden for non-users as "adult content" which I doubt.

Edit: Nexus mods browser tab says it's been deleted:

This is why society and thinking would eventually regress back to early medieval levels like that "if you do not agree with me you will die" short of shit. Medieval Jesuits and the Far Left are essentially the same thing reskinned.

I wanted an option to destroy every guild minus the DB. You cant clean up Riften or expose the The Companions for being daedra worshipping werewolves you get railroaded and burdened by their problems and soap drama until you become the leader. But as leader you still get sent on menial quests or talked down to.
The mage guild quests also suck in terms of having you do spellcaster related shit, once you’ve gained admission you can solve every quest unga bunga style without having to cast a single spell.

Video about Oblivion Remastered which contains the best DEI explanation, i have seen. Its from the same guy who made one of the only videos critiquing Demon's Souls remake. The video is a general critique of Oblivion Remastered. The first half covers the changes in art style and character design. At around the 12:34 mark he speaks about how video games are an effective medium for woke propaganda.

I'm glad someone has the guts to talk about and criticize the woke remake culture. It's almost impossible to do so on a social media platform these days. Because people get so invested in their fandoms that they will happily eat the slop and attack anyone that point out the reality.

Oh for fuck's sake. Secondaries will latch onto literally anything with the slightest amount of reach if it caters to their "views". I have to wonder whose sock made that other "Oblivion Remake Deragement" thread, and why is he along with one other account throwing puzzle pieces at the same posts.

Personally I never had a problem with Skyrim's abundant and simple companions, in fact I like that you can hire some random fuckoff mercenary and he doesn't tell you his backstory after you pick 50 locks.
I wish that instead of becoming the leader of every faction you instead got to a very high rank or got some honorary position. After reaching that high rank/honorary position you could then make the decision to become the head of the faction which gave you a buff towards that play style that the faction represents. Maybe even restrict it so you can only become the head of one faction per playthrough encouraging character builds and replayability
In the imperial cult questline in Morrowind, they made you a role that is specifically for adventurers, which was a nice change of pace. Also Oblivion's fighter guild in the end you actually had the option to somewhat manage the guild, and collect guild earnings, of course though in classic Bethesda fashion they throw away cool stuff and add shit nobody asked for

If you side with the Dawnguard, you become a well-respected member, but Isran remains in charge. It's probably my favorite reason for siding with them.

Becoming the leader of a faction that you can't actually give any orders to is always anticlimactic in games.

I liked the restraint that they had in Skyrim to say "no you cant become the ruler of a fucking country don't be retarded" in the civil war questline I just wish it was an option for all the factions. It would be nice if the Collage of Winterhold made someone like Tolfdir Archmage and made you something like "oh in your honour we created a new title, Guardian of Magnus, may you bring honour to the arcane arts blah, blah, blah" or "you are head of field research, perks include unlimited sabbaticals" Because if I want to rp a character that's a powerful mage that's high up in the college I have to a) get to a high rank, learn about a potentially world ending magical threat involving the architect of creation and go "nah not my problem" or B) Become the dean of a college and then spend 99% of my time grave robbing, skill-maxxing in a cave, depopulating the bandit population or helping a goth girl with her sun destroying daddy issues

edit: Come to think of it and may Todd forgive me for saying this name, Starfield actually did this for all of the factions if I am not mistaken

Redditors have rallied against the wicked arthmoor and his unofficial oblivion remake patch

I think they're complaining because Arthmoor managed to get publishing control over the unofficial oblivion patch and was first to published the unofficial skyrim patch, he doesn't give permission to anyone to make any forks, and redditors are too lazy to make their own patches. They feel he is squatting the position as the unofficial patch maker

You underestimate the pettiness of modders.
Describing predditors as modders is a stretch. They're simply parroting whatever their discord modding daddy's opinions are.

I agree that squatting the position is gay but I don't see anyone else doing it. Early bird gets dat mofuggin bread, nigga.

As in he rushed it out so it would be the first one on the scene, become the most popular and other mods would then start using it as a prerequisite.
Also apparently modders do get paid for the amount of downloads they get so money is actually at stake here.

And this bad, because...?

No, you don't understand, *my* bugfixes are better!
I have heard that the dude can be kind of a prick but tbf he made some of the most popular mods so he probably deals with waves of dipshits everyday and all the gay petty backroom modder drama but I kind of feel like with mods, as long as you are giving due credit and not locking stuff behind paywalls, making new versions of or using chunks of other mods shouldn't be an issue nor should mods "competing" with yours. I always saw modding as passion projects where you are making changes that you want and sharing it with everyone to do as they please.

There's some NPC in Shivering Isles that berates the Hero specifically on their race, but I can't remember who.

Bretons are half-elf mutts, hence their affinity for magic, and have French-ish names.

Dark Elves are Old Testament Jews, proud of their promised land and traditions while being wary of outsiders (never forget the Six Gorillion lost in the Red Year).

High Elves (by the events of Skyrim) have become Happy Merchant Jews who have made the Empire into Summerset Occupied Government.

Redguards are just Nords with more melanin.
