Note to self, never open a double chest in a regular MC dungeon, chances are some troon mod dev fucked with it with fag flags.

What is this supposed to be? The Twich logo?

Also, y'know what flag must be added.

I opened a GitHub issue to ask a mod dev why a config option wasn’t working. They said the documentation was incorrect and the config option no longer exists in favor of a datapack(fuuuuuuuuck). They tell me there is a guide and datapack somewhere on their discord. Of course they can’t link me to the guide or datapack because discord is aids. I tell them I don’t want to join a discord just to download a file and could they just post it? “No” Issue closed. Remove mod.

I hate discord so much.

I agree it's kinda bullshit having stuff behind a discord server. If I'm playing devil's advocate, devs are more often than not lazy and dont want to setup a zenforo/forum/matrix/github/IRC and just want to click twice and boom, you have everything you need for. Best case, you have a bridge that links other platforms with discord so everything is accessible for everyone. Worse case (beside only having a discord) is to have trannies managing it.

Modding platforms such as Modrinth should offer ways to create/host Matrix/XMPP/IRC servers for users and mod developers, that way they will make it piss easy to have other means of communication.

I’m not talking about communication. I’m talking about documentation and file hosting. I believe that if you’re competent enough to use git, GitHub, and setup CICD pipelines on GitHub, you should be able to host your datapack somewhere public like Curseforge or Modrinth.

btw the mod in question was Minecolonies, so not a small mod by any means. They definitely have the talent required to click upload on Curseforge.

NEW CRAFTING RECIPIES UNLOCKED!

you have no idea how much I hate this shit
Back in my day you'd look up all the crafting recipes and trivia on the Minecraft Wiki with no handholding in the game itself. Now, those were the days. Would modern Minecraft tell me how to make an automated cactus farm? No, but Minecraft Wiki did, back when Minecraft only had a few meaningless achievements and your score on death would still be &e0.

Best of both world would be to have the wiki available in-game with the press of a button, akin to how Vintage Story does it. Having access to a quick start guide, crafting recipes and guides for tricky mechanics is great. Minecraft's implementation is an after though that can be retrofitted for adventure maps.

Went up a tree to compare shaders over the land, thought I'd share.

I have heard about the "Create" mod. Does anyone have any experience with it? I just want to know what it is like compared to stuff I am familiar with like Tekkit.

Not only is it an afterthought, it's so poorly implemented that fucking NOTCHCODE is more performant.

I still have never gotten the appeal of shaders, but then my original hardware had enough issues running Beta so that might color my opinions a bit.

Mechanical energy instead of electrical. You gotta deal with rotation directions too at some point. It is not similar to what you are probably familiar with.

It's just people that want to pad their discord with extra members to make them feel cool. Bigger number = so epic

you can do some interesting stuff with it and it’s a bit more in line with minecraft’s vanilla themes than other tech mods, i quite like it
it revolves around the rotary torque you can get out of things like steam engines to power your machines rather than electricity, however there are some electricity extensions for it

any recommendations for mods that stretch the endgame out into infinity? I’ve been having a problem where I either drop off of a world after beating the Ender Dragon or never even get to the Nether, with little in-between, but I haven’t enjoyed just stretching out the time between starting the world and getting to the End with artificial hobby mods (eg Music Maker, Joy of Painting) or hardcore survival mechanics much either.

I’m not a huge fan of super-tough new-dimension boss mods; I’ve tried a few (Aether, Bumblezone) and was thoroughly bored. That one mod which adds random mini-bosses throughout the world combined with lots of pre-made structure mods is good enough for me gameplay-wise.

But after I get Netherite tools, the progression kind of dies. I can and do try building, sure, but I still miss that adventure aspect and by the time I have netherite tools all resources are in such abundance that it becomes boring to try and keep progressing much further.

I am also, unfortunately, not autistic enough for tech mods… so what could I do to remedy this? I’m going on my eleventh test of trying to fix the gameplay loop myself and I’m getting a little sick of just trusting my intuition and doing endless playtesting.

EDIT: I forgot to specify the version. I’m looking for 1.21.1 mods. My Cobblemon addiction is severe and incurable.

I’m not versed on the newest type of these mods but I remember draconic evolution being a good late game grindathon mod.

the fucking estrogen addon.
He’s not kidding. It’s real.
Holy shit, reading this page made me physically ill. Can’t have shit in my definitively male hobbies w/o troons slip-sliding all over the place.

Anyway, if you’re looking for a version of Minecraft that won’t sell your soul to Microsoft or… whatever keter-class entity made that Create addon… I’ve been playing Mineclonia in Luanti and it’s been going pretty great. Something about Mineclonia lacks the exact charm of Minecraft—maybe because it’s in a different engine, maybe because the textures are different… maybe because it’s just not Minecraft. It’s a copy. Regardless, Mineclonia runs super fast and I’m extremely tempted to start developing mods for it. Highly recommend if you wanna play Minecraft without all the annoyances that come with the modern game. You can even disable hunger so food items restore health like in beta Minecraft.
