Because FF8's plot and gameplay has massive issues (magic is effectively valueless in 8) and FF9 had a "weird" art style so people shit on it despite having the best characters and game play of a final fantasy game.

FF8's issues aside, it is the best looking and sounding of the PS1 trilogy, and just has a better cool factor. The only problem I had was unskippable summon animations, and it was a REAL problem because I relied on them a lot.

I think the issue FF9 has it was released when the PS2 was coming out so it fell into that weird transitional period. Everyone I ever know who played FF9 loves it but I just don't think it was that well known.
FF8 is probably the only FF I would say would improve if it got a remake to clear up the story, fix the junction system, and make Rinoa less of a cunt.

It's not too bad once you know where to go. But yeah, I dislike forced stealth in any game. MM did it well since you can skip it by finding the stone mask, that's a good way to reward exploration. The photography quest is tedious, but the biggest problem is that you can outright miss some statues because at least one NPC disappears from the game once you start the earth temple.

Eeeehhhh I don't think the art design of 8 was all that great, I don't think alot of the towns except the one you go to at the end of the first Disk are all that great, 7 has a nice run down feel about it in many of the places, 9 had lots of fantastical places. 8 had..lots of towns and a couple of cool dungeons.

Its been so long that isn't an excuse anymore, the only excuse I ever hear is the art style...which is kind of Fair Zidaine does look like he has downs sometimes.

Why so they can make it a 5 Part Action RPG because Final Fantasy is afraid of making a real JRPG now?

I don't want to be completely transphobic but I'm really hoping that these rumors I've been hearing about Hunter Schafer playing Zelda in the movie aren't true.

There may be times when it’s arguably OK to chop off your dick but playing an iconic character like Princess Zelda isn't one of them.

It's clearly an astroturf. Hunter has his agency put out false rumors. Journalists circulate the information, citing each other, and make it sound like there's real demand. The goal that Nintendo hears the "demand" and considers casting him. I think they're smart enough to stay clear of trannyshit, there's no way Sony has complete control.

Zelda is a dainty princess. Hunter is a tall, broad shouldered, faggot who looks like a typical man without make-up. This was never ever going to happen. Hunter's PR firm spread false rumors because he is a desperate, dumb, piece of tranny crap who doesn't know the difference between how he looks in his fantasy and how he actually looks. Tranny Ellen Page is a more convincing Zelda than this faggot monster.

I managed to get a Bing Wahoo 2 when I went to BB to get something else entirely. They happened to have about 10 MK bundles and two dozen regular ones so I figured why not. How long do we think the next new Zelda will actually take? My thoughts are late 2027. Maybe another Grezzo remake in the milieu.

Well, the 40th anniversary is next year, so it could drop late 2026.
